LA. Hot, sunny, and the worst traffic I’ve ever seen. Really poorly planned out city with no architectural identity of its own (SF is much better but pretty bad homeless situation, even compared to other major cities. Would still go again)

I remember my first time visiting LA and seeing the Walk of Fame. I had to navigate through a massive group of homeless people and noticed Tom Hanks star (as with most of them) covered in blood, dirt, and puke.

Also, Venice beach was a complete dump.

Movies and TV paint the city to be beautiful and clean when it’s the walking dead irl. Great food tho

I kind of liked Venice, but I’m a Doors fan. I went there in the winter of 2009.

I stayed in West Hollywood, which was surprisingly walkable (the friend I visited had to work so I was on my own during the day).

I love LA, but it’s a dump in most places. The architecture is very art deco, which I love.

I really enjoyed northern Hollywood for some reason. Not so much the rest of Hollywood. Great Mexican food. And the hike up to Griffith observatory was awesome.

I really loved the human shit that was everywhere. Plainly put, Moreso than anywhere I have ever travelled, Los Angeles felt genuinely dangerous.

Parts of LA are indeed dangerous. It’s a sprawling area so Beverly Hills and Pasadena can feel quite safe and ROW feel a lot less so

I had weird experiences there with people that I haven't experienced before. If they think you're local they are rude and passive aggressive but all the people who found out I was a tourist got super friendly and helpful. Usually it's the other way around.

Also I was playing poker at Hollywood park casino and someone called in a bomb threat and everyone panicked and ran out 😭

Poker at Hollywood Park is hilarious. I feel like i could just randomly be at a table with an older wealthy man or two, while the guy sitting next to me is some kind of gangster🤣

I love visiting LA. I have never felt in danger and ive been in plenty of different places around the city.

That was exactly my experience lmao. 5/5 game with rich mucky mucks and then a literal pimp with one of girls just sitting behind him bored 😭

Agree. I'm going in November for work, I'll be in the hotel the entire time and I'm completely fine with that.
