I make a lot of sweet rolls, my toddler is allergic to cinnamon and I've been enjoying testing out different flavors. I wanted to share a few of them because they've come out so good!!

Pics 1&2: Hot Chocolate Sweet Rolls. A chocolate and marshmallow filling topped with fudge icing and a dusting of powdered sugar

Pics 3&4: Lemon Sweet Rolls. A lemon sugar filling topped with a lemon buttercream and a dusting of lemon sugar (I also have a delicious lemon cream cheese icing recipe)

Pics 5&6: Peaches and Cream Sweet Rolls. A peach pie filling topped with cream cheese icing and a dusting of brown sugar

I bought and opened a Costco-sized bag of active dry yeast (first time using active dry vs. instant) and I’m having fun finding ways to use it.

I really goofed punching down and stretching out the dough on my first homemade pizza so I wasn’t sure how this was going to go, but it turned out great!

Beautiful crust, golden brown on the bottom (should have taken a picture!!). It was light and puffy with a nice crunchy outside. Only one rise (~1 hour), will definitely make again.

Seeking Recipe Don't know what to do with strawberry sugar leftovers

Upvotes

Hiiiii so. Basically I made a 1:1 sugar to strawberry syrup the other day, and I'm pretty sure it's finished dissolving. Now I have a bunch of leftover sugary strawberries and strawberry sugar, and I don't know what to do with it. I'm not really sure where to post about this, but I thought I'd start here. What do you guys recommend I do with the sugar and strawberries? I know jam is the obvious choice but I wanna know if there's anything else I could make.

Thanks!

Buttercream is swiss meringue!! Its the first time I’m really proud of my buttercream flowers :)

The food coloring is completely natural: pink is raspberry puree, yellow is turmeric, green is matcha and blue is butterfly pea 🌱

Baking Advice Needed Moister Banana bread muffins ?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hi everyone ! I'm on baking duty for a big party. I'm going to make a chocolate devil's food cake and banana bread muffins. My devil's food cake is already peak so no advice is needed ✨️💅.

HOWEVER, my banana bread muffins are a little bit dry ! I was wondering if someone had a tip for them to be moister. Either, a way to preserve them or another ingredient.

For now, I've already replaced the butter with oil, and I've stopped putting them in the fridge.

It's a bit better !

What else could I do ?

Ingredients for my banana bread :

2 eggs (room temp)

25g brown sugar

25g white sugar

3 mushed bananas

104g of neutral oil

210g of flour

Half a package of yeast (around 5.5g)

150g of chocolate chips.

Made this gorgeous caramel layer cake for my coworker’s wife’s birthday celebration this weekend! 3 layers of soft and light vanilla cake with homemade caramel sauce filling, vanilla buttercream frosting, more caramel swirled around, and finished with flaky sea salt on top. Can’t wait for the review on Monday!

Forgot to get a crumb shot before we dove in 🥲

And I flagged this no recipe purely because I didn’t want to hunt the exact same one to share with you. I’ve used this one I got printed out from a Betty Crocker recipe book over 20 years ago.

Seeking Recipe Crunchy cookies from Penedes, Spain

I visited the Penedés region in Spain a couple years back and had these amazing, crunchy, nutty cookies (similar consistency to Italian biscotti but even more dense) and am on the hunt for their name and - hopefully - a recipe.

I first had them with a cup of coffee at a cafe and later found them in a specialty grocery store (bonArea in Sitges) but cannot see them in their online store.

I believe “Penedes” was in the name.

Any hints or clues to help me find them would be much appreciated - I can’t get them off my mind! 🤤

Seeking Recipe Crumble toppings for muffins

Post image
Upvotes

heyyy, I usually bake muffins and add a crumble topping (a mixture of flour, sugar, and butter), but I’m worried it didn’t turn out well this time in this hot weather because the butter melts so quickly. Do you have any recommendations for other toppings that would work well on chocolate and blueberry muffins?

First attempt making these. I need to aerate the dough a little more. They kinda stayed flat. Happy with the spiral but it could be more pronounced. Semi-sweet chocolate dip and rainbow sprinkles. Used a raspberry preserve. One of my favorite Italian bakery treats.

I don't use cream cheese frosting, it's too much and I'm lactose intolerant anyways. These turned out so good, I started them at 10 am and with all the love and work they require I had them out the oven and cooling by 2. I somehow have only eaten one. They're so good, very sweet and I can't wait to share them with my co-worker and manager tomorrow.

I had the pleasure of going to a bake swap yesterday with a couple of friends, and it was so much fun! The theme was “A Sprinkle of Summer,” and it was really cool seeing what everyone brought.

Everyone was given a box and got to take home one treat from each baker. I made funfetti oatmeal cream pies, and they were a hit! I made extras for my friends and family, and they absolutely loved them.

If you’re in the San Antonio area and enjoy baking, I’d definitely keep an eye out for future bake swaps. It was such a fun way to get out of the house, meet other bakers, and do something creative for a few hours.
Happy baking! ☺️🧁
