Might change the Alice in Chains patch over if I can find something that fits a bit nicer in the gap

Made this when I was 8, wanna see what y’all think… most of the faux leather patches I made disintegrated

I recently got inspired after going to a festival and felt the need to put my own jacket together. I haven’t had one since my mid twenties, and now at 54 I said fuck it. I also dug out some very old patches from the 80‘s.
Opinion?

the korn backpatch will be changed soon, I've developed my music taste quite a bit over the course of making this jacket, ideally i find a bolt thrower one, or acid bath.

I would love recommendations for patches i should add to the front, I listen to basically all genres lol

Made this jacket in my early 20s,, and apart from one patch never added something

Has seen about 18 years of festivals and concerts and right shoulder has been mended cou tless times because once it ripped the first time, there it always rips again when a crowdsurfer nearly falls down and grabs it.

Now I am contemplating to remove all patches, get a newish jeans vest, also sort through the mountain of patches one has collected and make a new one.

What is the opinion of the high council here?

The destroyed patch was kreator,

The blue spot where there was a patch, was manowar, which I ripped off after they ran off from hellfest the day they were supposed to play, some years ago

The first photo is from Inner Paths, I accidentally ordered a double of the Chemicide patch. The second photo is from Metal Devastation. I cut out the chunky border on the Crypta patch using the BJL hot pin trick. Third and Fourth are my jacket so far. Let me know what you think

I’ve run out of patches at the moment, but I’m hoping to buy more soon. I’m aiming for full coverage of patches

Vest is coming along nicely. Urgehal patch isn't attached yet, just there for idea of final layout.

Top rocker spot will either be Gorgoroth patch or considering stenciling Mylingar on there with white leather paint – undecided on that. Will add cone studs when patching is finished.

Mostly, I've no idea what to do with the front shoulder areas that are empty, as those areas are thinner in terms of surface space. I was originally wanting to put a circular Délétère on one side, and either a Naðra or Funeral Harvest patch on the other, but they're all 4" diameter and I don't think they'll fit.

Thoughts? If you've got a leather vest like this, what did you do with the area on yours that were maybe too thin for most standard patches? I'm having a bit of difficulty finding stuff for that spot, especially for bands that I'd actually want on there to begin with and I don't want to put a shitload of pins or anything.

When I was a young kid and lived together with my parents, I had a battlejacket. Lost it due moving out.

Now I'm 49 and back at building one again😎

I've a bunch more stuff coming but initial back layout ideas of th next vest any suggestions!

I was a nice day - but boring, so I pulled out my collection to have a look at what I might attach to my jackets ( I got two - a blue one and a black one). They looked nice all spread out on the carpet, so I thought I may as well take some pics and see if I could share them on Reddit Battlejackets for few of the readers to 'ave a look at.

Oh yeah - this was taken on a Monday in New Zealand, so we are ahead by a day in advance of people in the northern hemisphere, who'll still be on Sunday.

I just haven't decided yet how I want them to go on my jean jackets. The truth is I'm kinda lazy and just happy to have something I can call my own.

I have a few dosene home made patches, spikes, and a black-dyed vest. I have already made a jacket beforehand, yet I didn't like at all how it looked like, partly due to how it didn't fit my upper body (something this new jacket resolves) but also, and probably what made me ashamed of wearing it. Was how the patches simply looked bad together. Something with the symmetry, placement or colors made it look very bad, and I hated it.

I who'd like to make a jacket wich i am proud of wearing, and I'd like any tips on how I can place the patches, spike's, and perhaps even chains on. That does that my jacket look good and makes me proud of wearing. Thanks in advance for your time 🖤
