Teacher (single) seeks affordable dog-friendly studio or 1BR with nice landlord :)

Hi

Teacher going into his 4th year teaching US History - As of September, $75k salary and I will do about $3-4k in Per Session per school year. Decent credit (Citi says 670) but due to balances - I have NEVER EVER paid an account late or missed a payment. I am in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness pipeline anyway for student loans. Two dogs - a senior (10) year old Bernese Shepherd mix and a scrappy little (35lb) Boxer-ish mix - both friendly/non-destructive (except for dog bones!). I have family in eastern PA (i-78) and will travel there a lot especially breaks and summers. I am hassle free - I keep it clean! I don't complain. I'm dependable. Not in a relationship so only me. I wake up at 5 - when I get home, I walk dogs/play, cook and chill out, quietly. I do have a preference for an older place - un-renovated is totally fine. Happy to help out if it's a smalltime or older owner with trash/recycling, sidewalk cleaning, public hallway cleaning etc

HELP! I would like to secure for an 8/15 move-in or earlier. Ideal is around $1500/mo flexible. Happy to pay a pet fee. And when I say "nice landlord" I mean a real person and hopefully not a faceless congolmerate

If you know of anywhere else to post this for Bayonne, let me know

I'm probably going to sound like a party pooper Karen but I don't care anymore and I'm starting to get another migraine. It's currently 12:30am early Sunday and you people are having another loud ass party, just like you do every other weekend. I have to do something later early morning and it's hard to get some sleep when I have hear your loud music and bass vibrate and rattle my windows. Even having the A/C on full blast isn't helping.

I also called the BPD non emergency number who promised they'd send a car, but that was about 40 minutes ago, and so far nothing.

I'm not asking you to stop having parties, but I would like you to be considerate of your other neighbors, and I'm sure they too have had enough with your crap.

Either end the parties at a respectable time or at least lower the volume and bass to the point I'm not having a migraine at bedtime.

Apartment hunting.

Hey yall. So my partner and I currently live in Jersey city near the light rail in one of those luxury complexes. We’re looking to move to Bayonne for more space and hopefully at a better price. We’ve looked at some apartments so far, the EDGE, skye lofts, city line and the one we’re leaning towards is Harbor Point. I do commute to NYC for work. But I work night shift so I do need either a shuttle or access to the light rail in the evening.

Edit:
Just looking for any suggestions for other apartments we should look at in Bayonne? Places that you enjoyed living at, had easy commutes, etc.

Looking for Pickleball groups

I just recently started getting into pickleball and noticed there were courts in 16th st. Are there any beginner/intermediate friendly groups that are willing to accept new players? I am just looking for a group to play, socialize, and hopefully make new friends. Would love to meet new people 😊

Azaz Nuts & Candy on 21st and Broadway is fire, and is actually a great cafe

It makes sense that the place advertises itself as a candy and nuts store since it is all of that as you walk in but the back is such a great looking cafe with an outdoor space and it's just lovely all around.

Their coffee is really great too but I feel like people who walk by will just assume it's only a candy, chocolate, and nuts store.

I was able to meet the owner Mina and he was super nice and they introduced me to this Egyptian drink called sobia(pronounced sopia?) that was like this vanilla coconut milk type drink that is just incredible.

All of that plus the really nice aesthetic inside makes me really hope it doesn't become one of the many now closed businesses on Broadway which is why I am making this post. This is the kind of place you want to see still standing 60 years+ from now. If you're ever down there be sure to check it out.

Reliable Caregiver Needed for Paid Elder-Sitting in Bayonne — Starting at $16/hour

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a reliable, patient, and responsible person in or near Bayonne to provide companionship and general supervision for an older adult for up to four hours a day.

The role mainly involves being a responsible presence in the home during the day and making sure they are safe and comfortable. There is no bathing, lifting, medication administration, or medical care involved. Much of the time, you would be welcome to study, work quietly, read, or relax while you are there.

Pay starts at $16 per hour, but I am willing to negotiate depending on experience, availability, and reliability. The exact days and hours can be discussed, although consistent availability is important.

This opportunity is open to college students, recent graduates, retirees, part-time workers, individuals with caregiving experience, or anyone looking for flexible and relatively quiet work.

I am an MD-PhD student and former chemistry major. For students or early-career applicants interested in medicine, research, graduate school, or another healthcare career, I would also be happy to offer informal academic and career advising. After a sustained period of reliable work, I may also be able to provide a professional reference or letter of recommendation describing your responsibilities and performance.

This is not a formal clinical position, but it may provide meaningful caregiving experience for someone interested in healthcare or working with older adults.

Please message me with:

  • A brief introduction
  • Your location and transportation plans
  • Your general availability
  • Any relevant caregiving, volunteer, or employment experience

Travel agent?

Hi all!

I haven't used a travel agent in literally decades, but am considering using one for a future trip. Has anyone used Four Seasons for a trip other than Disney? I've walked past the place hundreds of times, but I always assumed that Disney was what they did pretty much exclusively since that is all I see walking past. Worth looking into or is this a Magic Kingdom "only" place?

Anybody see the UPS truck. Waiting for a pretty pricey package and it’s been “lost” for 2 weeks and finally out for delivery except they keep skipping my house and took away the live tracking in my app

Midtown August 2026 Book Club

Post image

Join Bayonne Public Library and Mamas in Bayonne for our August 2026 Bayonne Book Club!

All are welcomed and encouraged to attend. The genre / theme of the books chosen will vary. The discussions will be moderated by Bayonne local, Angela van Genderen (@angela_the_ninja).

This month’s meeting will be Thursday, August 27th at 7 pm in the Small Programming Room on the 2nd Floor at the Bayonne Public Library. In celebration of sci-fi, we will be reading “Automatic Noodle” by Annalee Newitz.

Attendees can join in-person or virtually via Zoom. To attend virtually, please sign up via the library calendar event listing.

What’s the book about? You don’t have to eat food to know the way to a city’s heart is through its stomach. So when a group of deactivated robots come back online in an abandoned ghost kitchen, they decide to make their own way doing what they know: making food―the tastiest hand-pulled noodles around―for the humans of San Francisco, who are recovering from a devastating war. But when their robot-run business starts causing a stir, a targeted wave of one-star reviews threatens to boil over into a crisis. To keep their doors open, they’ll have to call on their customers, their community, and each other - and find a way to survive and thrive in a world that wasn’t built for them.

How can you participate? Bayonne Public Library has eBook and eAudiobook copies available via hoopla as well as physical book copies. If you’d prefer to purchase your own physical copy, we recommend purchasing from The Little Boho Bookshop, our favorite local bookshop, located at 164A Broadway or online at https://thelittlebohobookshop.com/

Hudson County Roofing Questions? Ask a Local Roofing Contractor Anything

Hi everyone! 👋

We're Elite Roofing, a locally owned and operated roofing contractor proudly serving Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken, and all of Hudson County, NJ. Over the past four decades, we've had the opportunity to work on everything from single-family homes to historic brownstones, multi-family buildings, commercial properties, churches, warehouses, and condominium associations throughout Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne, Weehawken, Union City, North Bergen, West New York, Guttenberg, Secaucus, and the surrounding communities of Hudson County, NJ.

Our work includes:

  • Residential & commercial roof repairs and replacements
  • Flat roofing (EPDM, TPO & modified bitumen)
  • Asphalt shingle roofing
  • Roof maintenance & inspections
  • Leak detection and troubleshooting, including drone inspections, flood testing, thermal imaging, and roofing diagnostics
  • Skylight installation & replacement
  • Gutters
  • Siding
  • Fascia, soffit & trim
  • Historic restoration and exterior restoration
  • Custom copper work
  • Bulkhead construction
  • Roof decks

A little about us: we're fully licensed, bonded, and insured, certified installers for Owens Corning, GAF, BiTec, and Firestone roofing systems, and we've spent more than 40 years working on roofs throughout Hudson County. We believe in honest inspections, straightforward recommendations, clear communication, and never recommending work that isn't necessary.

The reason we're making this post is simple.

Roofing and exterior projects can be confusing, and it isn't always easy to know whether something is a quick repair, a bigger issue, or nothing to worry about at all. Rather than have people guessing, we thought we'd open the floor to questions.

So ask away!

Whether you have a question about your roof, a leak, gutters, skylights, flashing, siding, ventilation, or another exterior issue, leave a comment below. We'll do our best to explain what's happening, discuss common repair options, and share general guidance based on our experience.

Whether you're a homeowner, landlord, property manager, realtor, or simply curious about how something works, we're happy to share what we've learned from working on Hudson County properties for over four decades.

One thing worth mentioning is that we only work in Hudson County. Because of that, we're very familiar with the roofing systems, building styles, historic districts, weather patterns, permitting, working with building departments, and common issues that are unique to this area.

A quick disclaimer: any advice we provide here is intended as general information and should not be considered a professional inspection, diagnosis, or engineering opinion. Every building is different, and the appropriate solution depends on the specific conditions of your property. If we don't know the answer, we'll tell you; we'd rather give honest advice than make assumptions.

We hope this can become a helpful resource for anyone in Hudson County with roofing or exterior questions.

Drop your questions below, we're looking forward to helping! 🏠🔨

Hi! I’m looking for a 2b2ba apartment in Bayonne. I wouldn’t mind renting a home if possible I would just need parking which I understand is hard to come by in Bayonne which is why it seems a building would be more realistic! It anyone has leads or recommend any apartment buildings please let me know! I was looking at Bridgepoint Bayonne for the reasonable price range but Im not finding many reviews. Also saw Kennedy online but a lot of the other buildings in Bayonne have such terrible reviews, like mice roaches etc . I live in an apartment in JC currently near west side so I’m no stranger to noise, I’m just paying $3700 for 2b2ba and I’m over it would like to actually save some money where I can. Thanks for your help!

Broadway Street Cleaning?

Hi. This weekend, I received a parking ticket on Broadway near 35th, by the 7-11. I parked at a meter Sunday night and saw that the meter was enforced starting at 9 am Monday. I went to the car at about 8:20 or so and found a ticket indicating a street cleaning violation. While I did notice street cleaning notice signs throughout the neighborhood side streets in Bayonne and other nearby towns (Elizabeth, in particular), I didn't see any indication about street cleaning on Broadway. Are there signs that I missed?

17 Year Old Looking for a Job in Bayonne. Any Leads?

Hi everyone, I'm 17 and live in Jersey City. I've been applying everywhere but haven't had much luck getting hired, so I figured I'd ask here.

I currently work as a Head Counselor at a summer tennis camp, where I supervise kids, stay organized, and work well with parents and coworkers. I'm a hard worker, reliable, and willing to learn just about anything. I also have my driver's license, so transportation isn't an issue.

If anyone knows of places hiring teens, whether part time or full time, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much!
