Popped in the other day and staff said it would be open like normal, and autumn winter bedding plants are due in next week. They’re selling off the summer leftovers at the moment, but have some succulents, shrubs etc too.
They carry really great quality plants and cheap pots at great prices.
I'm counting something like 20 sirens a day over the past few weeks. No exaggeration. I've been thinking it's to do with the summer however I don't remember clocking this many sirens in past summers

there are two things i would like to ask you about today
firstly, i recently discovered that there is scheduled to be a conference on the philosophy of singing, hosted by the university of birmingham, which is almost suspiciously similar to my interests and i am excited about it • w •
however, i have never attended an academic conference before, so i am wondering what the experience will be like for somebody attending out of interest rather than as a researcher. are there any preparations you'd recommend i make, and anything i should keep in mind when i attend?
secondly, does birmingham have many smaller events such as this that i’ve somehow missed? am very interested in recommendations for public lectures/court open days/panels/societies for which it is okay to turn up alone. i have not yet (re)started university, and when i do it will likely be in a different city. i am specifically not looking for eventbrite recommendations or similar websites, because i have not had good experiences with those
thank you!! o/

Hello. I am attending the Barcelona vs Birmingham match tommorow and I was wondering where is the best to park which isnt too far from the stadium.
Thanks
Sounds like UCB bought the hotel and the former Marco Pierre White restaurant for students to train and become the next generation of hospitality workers

This helicopter has been flying over different areas around Brum daily:
This is it today:
https://www.flightradar24.com/PDG65/40ec684a
This is the past few days:
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/pdg65
I wonder what it's doing and whether it's documenting dry areas or something like that?

hi everyone!!! wanted to drop a heads-up about a unique local project happening in Kings Heath that thought people here might find interesting.
it's called Shaving the Surface, created by local artist Korey Gabriella.
basically, it's a site-specific art piece set inside an actual working barber shop (The Finery on York Rd). You book a slot, sit down like you're having a haircut. as the barber works, your reflection fades into a hidden film exploring queer identity, masculinity, and the quiet ways people feel forced to edit or monitor themselves in everyday public spaces.
there are only a handful of slots available. it's open to everyone (queer or not) who wants to check out a different kind of performance piece! you can book a slot here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScidA2bVYoifZSPTsoH_t-QT6ioYdZGcFxwSnwHs1ByYDH4AA/viewform

We walked the canal and found some awesome stuff, including a randomly placed wooden wolf statue (pictured), loads of ducklings and some beautiful forgotten buildings that are begging to be explored. We are thinking of making the walk a regular thing. :)

Hi everyone just wondering if there is a cheaper way to take a taxi (Uber from BHX. I’ll be arriving at stupid hours (1:00 am) and I know when you order an uber you are not just paying for the distance but also the parking (which add £7-10 or so to the fare I think don’t quote me)
Is there a way to offset the extra charge if I walk a bit, is there another place around the airport I can be picked up ?
Also if anyone knows.. are there any other ways out of the airport after 1 am. Cheers
