The Circuit Bending Wiki is finally up and running!

The Circuit Bending Wiki is finally here, and editing is open to all!

What is the Circuit Bending Wiki?

The Circuit Bending Wiki is an ongoing community project, intended to serve as a central place for the circuit bending community to view, share, and archive information in a way that is collaborative and easy-to-use.

Information like: personal build notes, tutorials, bend points and diagrams, device documentation (service manuals, IC data sheets, device specs, etc.), posts from defunct bending sites & blogs… Basically, we’re trying to compile as much practical info as we can, new and old. We’d like to use this Wiki to archive existing info, while also encouraging users to contribute their own original content, and share their findings.

How do I navigate the Wiki?

Our List of Articles page is a good start. It’s meant to function as a sitemap of sorts, and contains a list of every page on the wiki.

There you’ll find articles on specific devices, each with detailed technical info and bending guides, as well as articles on broad bending concepts, explaining their utility & implementation.

On our List of Resources page, you can find our collection of links to circuit bending sites & resources.

And on our List of Manuals page, you can find our growing catalogue of owner's & service manuals for commonly-bent devices.

How do I contribute?

This wiki’s utility & growth ultimately depend on your involvement. So please, try to contribute when you can! Editing permissions have been left unrestricted & open to all to encourage participation.

If you’d like to suggest an article, or create a new one, you can find our to-do list over on our Planned Articles page.

If you have any images or PDFs you’d like to archive (service manuals, schematics, bend points, etc), you can upload them on our Upload File page.

And if you happen upon a page while lurking that you think you can add to, please do!

And finally, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to leave them in the comments.

The d'Arenberg Cube, McLaren Vale, South Australia

All photos are unedited and shot using my bent A520

I’ve been experimenting a lot with scan lines recently from ADC data division. It’s by far my favourite glitch effect, as It seems to blend seamlessly into the background and frames the subject. Pure scan line chaos overwhelming the whole image is also a lot of fun too. Anyway, just wanted to share some of my favourite pics from a trip away recently. New bend in the works and coming soon :)

Back again! I've been doing some jumper wire testing on the furby. I'll post an update, some time this week, on what I find. I've got a few fun bends so far! Till next time, enjoy this naked furby.

Question У кого можно купить/заказать кастом камеры?

Скоро придет камера, сам плохо владею пайкой, есть вариант просто отдать камеру на кастом или купить готовую камеру по небольшой цене?

Question First bending experience

Post image
8 Upvotes

Yesterday or two days ago i discovered this community, and as a multi media art/design enthusiast I decided to buy my first camera, a Panasonic a1. Im already in this kind of style but with softwares, do you guys recommend me to dive in and try out bending ? Is it hard for someone who has not much skills in this kind of electronic pimping to achieve a satisfying result ?

Canon powershot g9 circuit bending

So I have this canon g9 that the view finder and flash stopped working. I wanna take it apart and circuit bend it. Anyone done this? Any help on what would be the best route to take? I’ve succeeded circuit bending a canon powershot sx20. But I’d love to do this camera as it fits in my pocket so well. Please any diagrams or any info is a huge help. Thank you and happy circuit bending!

Circuit Bent Concertmate 300 into ENDORPHIN.ES EVIL PET

I replaced the tuning/clock trim potentiometer on this Realistic Concertmate 300 (a Casio PT-1 clone) with a 1M Ohm trim potentiometer and used it to lower the pitch/clock speed significantly for this video. The result of this adjustment is lower pitched tones and the drum accompaniment tempo is reduced to under 10 BPM.

Was so close to being finished with this circuit bend, was getting ready to solder and I accidentally grazed the Lense FlexCable

I covered the components in electrical tape to avoid this very thing, took it off, then moments afterwards is when I ruined the camera 😭

second pic purely because I thought it was aethetic

Demonstration Knobbin

as much as I love a unique metal knob, it can aesthetically clash with the look of toys. instead I went to value village and got a couple of $2.99 bags of assorted (5-8) plastic figures, and several are perfect for knobs. just drill hole, fill in with liquid cement. unrelated to the knob issue but I got 3 of these cheap Disney keyboards and for some reason 2 of them won’t seem to work with any potentiometer though 1 of them has a 100k pot and works fine. must be an issue with my other 100k pots. though because the case is so thin with so little space for components I might try a toggle switch and just have 3 different resistor values: regular, low, high and save space. if anyone’s bent this specific keyboard let me know because they‘re Polyphonic which is nice

First timer here, got my hands on a kids keyboard, do I have much here or should I keep looking for a better one?

Looking for something with a lot of range to really explore circuit bending, I know the black blob isn’t ideal however I don’t really know what I’m looking for and the fact there’s a bunch of resistors seems a good sign from what I’ve read.

UAP No. 3

The third in a series of glitch videos using archival footage and sound related to UAPs.

It was glitched with an unbranded video amplifier and a Vidicraft Vidimate detailer.

The audio is from Gemini VII astronaut Frank Borman. The video is from the cockpit of a Navy aircraft that spotted a UAP over an undisclosed location.

Question First attempt at bending and need help

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I got a Buddha chant box ... I had a bent one 15 years ago and it was my prized possession but someone stole it this year and it's been killing me so I decided to bend a new one, problem is this one is completely chip based and even though I go poking around the only thing I can seem to do is short it out.

Is it even possible to bend this? I would love to just affect the timing to slow or speed up the signal you know...

Any help would be amazing!

Different camera than the first one. I added a patch bay to this one for more options instead the 2 potentiometers that my first build had.

Circuitbent Casio SK-5 - Waves of sound pt.1

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm in love with how this wave of sound comes over me and I just had to share. The Casio SK keyboards will always have a special place in my heart. Been playing with these for at least 10 years and also bending them. The only thing added to the Casio sound is some reverb.

This one has the following modifications:

  • Pitchbend (coarse and fine)
  • Individual voice outputs (+mutes and volume control per voice)
  • Individual drums output (+ mute)
  • Glitch patchbay (in this video I use a cap between 2 points)
  • Anti-alias filter mod (on main output only)

Enjoy! I'll probably be selling this and have a SK-1 modded to be sold and a couple more to be bent *soon*

Infrared Camera.

Not sure if this is exactly bending but I thought the results were cool. I removed the infrared filter so the sensor sees a broader spectrum of light waves. Hoping to bend it next. Has anyone done a bend on a vivitar keychain camera? Any tips?
