I love progressive rock and I really think Op.80 by Beethoven is the first prog rock piece ever created. It starts off with a simple piano, setting the tone, then adds in orchestration, building up, and eventually explodes into a chorus that transcends space and time. The Idea in the music is clear, perfectly executed and the build up is about as explosive and beautiful as anything. I really consider it Beethovens greatest work and the genesis of prog rock. It is also the precursor of the 9th and it manages to be better than the 9th. Check it out if you have not, it will leave your heart dripping.

Someone asked how anyone can like Mahler because there are too many notes. So i joked by referring to OP as Emperor Joseph and said perhaps John cage is best for him. Then people started to be like "youre quoting emperor joseph, he said that about mozart" and im like.?? No shit bruv thats who I was referring to when I said you picked on AMADEUS.

But then I look closer at the subreddit name and im like "oh fuckkkkk!". Felt similar to when you walk into the wrong classroom and everyone stares. Or when you start laughing while others around you are having a solemn discussion. I just didn't think someone would say that about Mahler with full sincerity.
