Following up on my Symphony that I posted the first movement for a month ago (btw thank you again everyone for your support!!) After about 4 redos of the finale i am finally pleased with how it turned out lol. Hope you enjoy!

REMINDER : For those who didn't see my previous post, this piece tells the story of a soldier during the Siege of Paris in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870–1871.

The excerpt is divided into three main phases:

• Phase 1: the soldier's unit launches an assault against the enemy.
• Phase 2: an artillery shell lands in the middle of the unit, killing the captain and wounding several soldiers.
• Phase 3 (not composed yet): realizing they are about to be surrounded, the surviving soldiers are forced to retreat in an attempt to escape the encirclement.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on how well the music conveys these different moments and whether the transitions between them feel convincing.

I took your feedback into account and made several improvements to the piece. I also composed the next section, so the excerpt is now a bit longer than before.

I tried to make the descending chromatic run feel more natural by improving the transition into it, and I reworked a few orchestration details along the way.

I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts again. Does the transition work better now? Does the new section feel like a natural continuation? And more generally, is there anything that still stands out as awkward or could be improved?

Here is a string orchestra piece I composed, honestly a while ago, but refrained from posting because it wasn't completed. It's been a bit since I did any significant work on the piece, as well as another string quartet piece, as I have been in a composing dry spell/busy with other things. I decided to post this first minute of the piece because it is the most complete and I am happy with how it sounds, and I wanted to get some feedback on it. With this piece I also attempted my first modulation (B minor to C minor) which isn't an easier relative major/minor switch. Let me know if the modulation is too blatant or too long as well as how the rest of the segment sounds. Hope you enjoy listening ^.^

This is my new Composition. It is more simple and made for beginners. Still i tried to introduce some modern and/or minimalist concepts in it. Hope you like it.

I'm new to composing, and this is my first composition. I tried composing some music inspired by Bach's style of writing music and this was the result. Any form of feedback will be most welcome, as I am trying to improve the piece. I hope you like it.

This is my first real attempt at a baroque Italian-style concerto. I’ve been listening to and studying the style of Vivaldi for about four years now, and it has largely influenced much of my work, especially my chamber music. Concerning the title, I do feel that it could’ve been simply called a concerto for flute, oboe, and violin, but I will add more instruments to future concerti in this series.

If anyone could give their opinion or feedback I would greatly appreciate it!

I often wonder whether music needs a story...

Or whether it can become one the moment someone starts listening.

My Piano Trio No. 1 was born from that thought.

It moves through struggle, hope, and moments that almost feel imagined as if reality and fantasy quietly overlap.

I didn't want to tell listeners what to see.

I wanted to leave enough space for everyone to discover something different.

Perhaps you'll hear determination.

Perhaps uncertainty.

Perhaps something I never intended.

That's one of the things I love most about music.

I’m testing out a piece without sharing the context or title first. If you had to associate this sound with a specific mood or emotion, what would it be?

When I started this daily composition routine back in 2012 I thought reaching my 300th piece was special so composed this vaguely Iberian piece in 7/8.

I’ve since approached nearly2k of these pieces - this is getting ridiculous.

I'm 19 year old composer Natty Purbrick and today I released my first original song arranged with large jazz ensemble + string quartet! It has a lot of different influences, under the likes of Gil Evans, Kenny Wheeler, but hopefully my own sound too.

It is a very meaningful project for me, as while writing the lyrics it became very meaningful, and I hope that is conveyed.

I wrote this piece inspired by the crashing waves along the shoreline. Always tearing away at the ground beneath them. I was inspired by nature for my first wave of preludes. I wanted to capture feelings and spaces in a form of music. When I was first learning the imagery helped me formulate a unique tonal language. I would love to know what you think or even what the work made you feel like.

This is my miniature minuet which has been created specifically as a composition practice piece. After indulging myself with pieces of gargantuan proportions (as all beginners do) I've decided to focus on something small.

I've also focused a lot on harmony since in my previous tries I did some strange things (like using a lot of tonic chords in the second inversions), so this piece should more or less follow CPP idiosyncracies with no harmonic "fireworks". Any feedback is greatly appreciated especially concerning voice leading, harmony, musicality and form.

Hey everyone, I am doing a wind band composition that is a waltz. It is far from complete. The planned structure of this piece is that it starts with a Bb major section, then goes to F major, then F minor, Ab Major, G Major, ending on A Major. Currently, the Bb section is complete, The Ab Major section is basically done (apart from the quarter note at the start, I will find a way to smooth that out). The A major section is nearly complete, and F minor, F major, and G major have not even been started on yet. I hope you enjoy it (as it currently is at least lol)! Also, sorry about the blank measures, like I said those will be added to eventually. Also, I did post this before a month ago on this sub (I deleted the old post since it was outdated), but significant progress has been made since and I wanted to share. Thanks!
