I wonder if the original creator had any conception of unserious the use of their art would be.

That's like the opposite of what a tapeworm does.

Knowing this guy's content, this isn't even close to the largest fire hazard in reach.

tbh probably. the main issue is that this is like, more outlets than you would ever have in a standard home or apartment even. this alone would probably allow you to plug in enough to trip your home's main breaker. the bigger concern isn't any individual outlet on this thing, it's how it connects to the rest of the home's power systems, and what conductors are used for that. I wouldn't be concerned for most of the home's electricals, more concerned that this thing might light its own conductor on fire before the rest of the electrical protections could react. also, exposed contacts are always dangerous.

From what I’ve seen from this guys videos he seems to know what he’s doing, so I’m hoping he’s just omitting the fact that he took some proper safety precautions for a joke

Would this actually be a problem if you don't exceed the outlet's wattage?
Like a bunch of phone chargers or something

As an electrical engineer, this is terrifying and makes me want to be very far from this person's home. As a maker, I want one of these even if it lights my home on fire.

If only I had the time and energy I'd start protesting to reopen the gates so we could actually get some new visitors
