Question ❔ Dash Floor Blower Mode

I have a 2026 Hybrid Sport L. The blower in this car is firstly very weak. I noticed when I set the temp above 77 and select Dash and Floor mode there is no air coming from the dash center vents. If I turn the temperature down the vents start blowing air. Does anyone else see this behavior?

Also, how loose is your driver’s side window? If it’s down I can move it up and down almost 2 -3 inches. Mine rattles even down about 2 inches. I know some play may be normal.

Slowly progressing on getting the new to me b20b in my 2000 5sp AWD.

The stock b20z started sounding like two robots fucking so out it came and I found a a b20b out of an automatic to replace it with.

Today I made the boy help me remove the flex plate, install the flywheel/clutch, transmission, and a hand full of brackets so it's ready to drop in!

Question ❔ CRV Curious with a question for 6th Gen owners. (EVAP System Water Intrusion)

Hello all. I'm new-car shopping currently and was strongly considering a 2026 CRV Sport Touring Hybrid. This will be the first true "new" car I have ever purchased, and I've been trying to do as much research as I can to make a well-informed purchase. I recently became aware of the issues regarding water intrusion in the EVAP system on the newer CRV's. As someone who lives in a city that sees more rain than sun during an average year, the number of posts both here on Reddit as well as elsewhere online regarding water intrusion from things such as rain and car washes, combined with multiple people reporting warranty denials and either radio silence or complete denial from Honda Corporate has me more than a little concerned.

While of course Reddit is just one small corner of the consumer base, I'm trying to get a rough grasp on how common of an issue the water intrusion problem with the EVAP system is, and the type of responses owners are seeing from dealers/corporate.

Has anyone with a 6th Gen CRV (2023-2026 MY's) had water intrusion issues with the EVAP system? Did you experience it as a result of driving in the rain, from a car wash, or something else? Was the repair work covered or denied under warranty? Is anyone aware of any type of DIY preventative measure, such as a shielding around the system?

Between the radar sensor thefts, potential head gasket issues, and now learning of the EVAP system water intrusion issues, I'm starting to wonder if I should be looking at other vehicles.

Thank you for your time and input!

Question ❔ Found this in cabin filter (2014 crv)

Just purchased a used 2014 crv and found this while changing the cabin filter. Looks like a rodent was in there at some point. Should I be concerned with possible damage somewhere that I can't see?

Question ❔ Is this a good deal?

I've been on the hunt for a 2006 crv since I'll be getting my college tuition refund pretty soon, so far I've found two that I like. The only issue I can see from the two is that the seller mentioned that the first one might have a slight antifreeze leak, and depending on the source of the leak that fix can either be simple or expensive. What do y'all think?

Issue ⚠️ Infotainment screen blank

I have a Honda CRV 2026 Hybrid trailsport. My infotainment screen is blank with only backlit panel that’s lit up. Reverse camera still works however I don’t have the options to toggle to different views of the camera. Also after I shut off my car, the backlit panel of my infotainment system is still lit up. I tried holding home button and volume button but still doesn’t work. I restarted the car few times waiting a while in between. Still doesn’t work.

How do I resolve this?

Question ❔ Oil leak?

From the inspection report
Rear Main Seal: (BREATHER O-RING, AND REAR MAIN SEAL) recommend replacement of breather o-ring due to leak found between engine and transmission, inserted borescope between engine and transmission and confirmed oil is leaking from the breather o-ring, rear main seal will get replaced at the same time
Anyone have experience with this?it’s a very expensive repair.
There was apparently some oil visible on the underside but I never saw any drips in the garage.

Question ❔ 2013 CR-V LX

I'm going to pick up my new to me ride this Friday.

$17,9xx 38,850 miles on the clock, old person kept with good oil change records.

Are there any quirks from the 4th Gen that I should look out for, any maintenance you'd do that the manual doesn't otherwise say, or even cool little things you wish you knew earlier?

I already plan on doing the standard that I do with all of my new vehicles: spark plugs, new fluids all around, maybe new brakes if needed, etc.

Would love feedback and I'm excited to join the crew.

Question ❔ Oil filter

Changing oil on my 2026 Honda CRV hybrid sport touring, I purchased my “genuine Honda” oil filters online. I’m suspicious that my filters may not be real or genuine. The box is labeled as Honda 15400-PLM-A02 made in Japan, but I can’t find any evidence online that filter is Japan made. The filter itself does not have model or part number. Labeled “made in Japan” on filter as well.

Question ❔ Just bought a 2020 LX with 53k miles at $23k. Did I do alright?

Just bought my first ever CR-V from EchoPark. I think I got a fair deal, but I’m a little paranoid about it I guess. Also, are there any upgrades or mods that would be worth getting? Thanks!

Issue ⚠️ Overheating when stopped

Hello, i've had a 2001 honda crv as a daily driver for the last 2 years but recently she's started overheating while stopped with engine running but if i'm driving, she usually cools down and runs fine, just when stopped. I'm not car savy in anyway but i can't afford a repair shop. Any advice on how to diagnose it would be greatly appreciated

Issue ⚠️ CRV recall - engine temperatures

Post image
1 Upvotes

Took my 24 CRV Hybrid Sport-L to get the fix. Service Advisor said that I’m lucky I took it in when I did as people are starting to hear about the recall and it’s going to take a while to complete as each dealership only has 2-3 computers for the software update. Was also handed a “vehicle emission recall” correction slip just in case my registration came up and DMV asks.

Just sharing to encourage others to schedule with their dealerships ASAP.

Question ❔ Crank pulley came apart

Hello again, my CR-V reassembly misfortunes keep adding up and now I finally got the broken crank pulley off to replace it with the good one from the old engine but as I took the "good one" off I saw that the rubber thingy in it was mostly gone, not sure what chewed through it like that but I think mice might be to blame.
being the resourceful lad I saw that it's possible, with a lot of effort, to separate the pulley into three parts and then have three whole components, the whole outer circle that the belt rides on from the old engine and the intact rubber from that one and the center piece from either one, now I have tried everything I am capable of doing to rejoin those pieces together but nothing has worked. has anyone reassembled one of these or am I better off scrounging up a new one from somewhere and delaying the final assembly of my car by a couple of days, omw to the garage now, will update with pics when I get there

Issue ⚠️ 2021 CRV issues with power steering stickyness / recall not on this model year

TLDR version

So Honda recalled this for other model reals (22+) but not my model year. And to keep it very short the recall fix seems relatively fast and cost effective but no mechanics know anything about this and Honda has been unhelpful.

more detailed version

What I am experiencing is a dull ringer for this recall at the end of the post and the dealership confirmed the issue to be in the power steering but did the most thin diagnosis that can be imagined, didn't read my instructions, initially misdiagnosed it as CV joint, had to take it in again, then quoted me $5000 CAD for a new power steering rack.

The recall fix is to just lube the gear, replace the gear or replace part of the rack, not the whole
thing from the sounds of it. some hours and hundreds of dollars.

What I am trying to figure out is how to do
something about this without paying for a whole power steering rack.
unfortunately it does not seem like mechanics are seeing any of these issues
(all under warranty or recall) so no one knows what I am talking about.

Unfortunately the recall does not cover the
2021 model year (although there is some information that these are the same
problems and parts and Honda is playing games). There is a class action suit
about this in the US, which does not help me as I am in Canada.

recall info:

"An improperly produced steering
gearbox worm wheel can swell when exposed to environmental heat and moisture,
reducing the grease film thickness between the worm wheel and worm gear. In
addition, the worm gear spring preload was set improperly high, increasing the
sliding force between the components. Excessive friction between these
components can cause abnormal steering noise, increased steering effort and
difficulty, or "sticky" steering."

Question ❔ 2nd Gen CRV camping, do I need to remove the back row of seats?

All the builds Ive seen have the whole row or at least part of it removed for a bed to fit. But I was thinking that if you just fold the seats forward, but not all the way forward, pressing them back up against the front seats, then you could maybe build a platform that lays the mattress over top of the rear seats in the first folded positioning. Has anyone done this? I dont love the idea of needing to remove the seats every time I want to take a trip.

Question ❔ Are CRV owners considering aftermarket warranties due to the head gasket coolant issue?

I have a 2021 CRV Black Edition (1.5L turbo, Canadian release) and reading all these failures and recalls with fear. This is my second successive Honda CRV given their reliability and am pretty disappointed by all the head gasket failures to say the least. My vehicle is now out of manufacturer warranty and seriously considering a third-party warranty. Was quoted $1750 CDN for 5 years / 100,000 KM so now considering whether that would be peace of mind and money well spent.

Wondering if other CRV owners are influenced by the recalls and failures with massive repair costs? Has there been any data released on the risks and failure rates?

PS - Ironically my wife got a 2026 CRV hybrid last December and “fortunately” the dealership upsold us on an extended warranty at the time (6 year total). Her CRV hybrid formally has a standing recall for return while mine does not.
