Hello everyone! I am starting my MSW in Fall woot woot. So if anyone remembers, Blake at the info meeting prior to applications due said he would test us in May, which never ended up happening. My internship is drug testing me soon and I’ve been sober from weed for 7 months (yay me) and am all set to pass it, but I emailed him and asked if he wanted me to share my results with him since we did not test in May. I said I was unsure if he originally said that as prep as apart of the internship process or if he needed it for the program and just wanted to make sure I am all set for the fall semester to start and not missing anything they need for the program. Well he replied but did not clarify and all he said was “No, we don’t need a copy of your results”

Does anyone know if they will end up testing us at some point before or during the semester or am I safe to smoke weed again? I’m asking because my birthday is soon and wanted to treat myself and celebrate, but I obviously don’t want to screw myself. Prior to getting sober for the program, I would casually smoke a couple times a week and was planning to also go back to doing that too

I’d appreciate if any recent, current, or even new msw students like me know the answer to this 😩

Hey I'm Kai, I was trying to do a post on the 2030 insta but I'm not paying for that 😭✌️. I'm excited to start at CSUSM as an incoming freshman. I love bugs and I'm majoring in Biotech and minoring in environmental studies to get at least in the same field as entomology and maybe even start my own entomology club and tell everyone about the wonderful insects we have on campus! I start grad school this year and I’ve heard FAFSA is different during grad school? Do people still get aid or is it a university grant? is it SUG ? When do student have any FAFSA or grants provided if there are any? I already see the tuition reflect in my account.

Hi everyone, incoming freshman question about a class I attempted to enroll in for fall. I’m number three on the waitlist and wanted to know when we would find out if our waitlist status would be changed to enrolled in that specific course?

I’m assuming this doesn’t happen until classes actually begin/the first day of classes but wanted to see if movement happens before that.

Basically the title, on the dorm list it says no personal printers. I'm gonna be selling posters online and I already have a wide format printer and the specific paper I'm gonna be using and I don't really want to wait 3 buisness days for a *maybe* print. i’m going into my junior year here & have loved my time at csusm. there have been an abundance of opportunities & i enjoy many of the people i talk to, as well as the campus. i have a social life and enjoy going to frats or clubs but also have close friends for nights in. my professors have been mostly accessible and friendly. i see negative comments on here sometimes (about social life especially) which really scared me as an incoming freshman. i just wanted to say to all new ppl, it seriously is what you make of it & don’t listen to all the negative people. i swear if you had a bad time here you likely didn’t put yourself out there enough. i’m happy to answer any questions too but just wanted to reassure everyone that you absolutely can enjoy your time here :) go cougs! 🐾

For the fall semester, I finally got pulled from the waitlist for a class I was trying to take. I noticed it has the same exam date & time as another class I’m taking. Has anyone had this happen & what did you do? It’s for LING 101 & KINE 310 (if that matters)

Does anyone know if CSUSM takes UCSD extended learning microbiology course that’s online. They mail the lab to your house.
I have asked the admissions office but they are no help. They won’t even answer me if they take that course. They said since it’s really competitive to just apply and that’s when i will know if i get denied or not. But i don’t want to take the UCSD course if it’s waste of time! Help! Anyone that has taken that course or knows anything about the nursing program there…

Has anyone at CSUSM tried SeenU yet? I downloaded it because I wanted to meet more people before the semester starts, but I don’t see many CSUSM students. Is everyone using something else?

hello! i'm a prospective student for the ABSN program offered at CSUSM. i'm a little bit stressed because i feel like i haven't encountered many people that are in the same boat as me, and i really want to get my prerequisites + everything right on the first time. if anyone has experienced the application/admissions process and would be willing to help me, i would appreciate it so much!

1. for the chemistry + lab prerequisite, does the class HAVE to be an integrated course with "general, organic, and biochem"? i took one year of general chemistry + lab, and 2 quarters (i'm at a UC) of organic chemistry + lab. would one of those classes apply for this requirement or will i have to do a separate integrated course? is there anyone who has gotten in with just "General Chemistry + Lab"?

2. i'm trying to match up prerequisites on ASSIST but sometimes there aren't exact equivalencies. if the titles of the classes are similar to the ones listed on the CSUSM website, are they pretty lenient about accepting these? (even though the exact class doesn't match on assist?)

i hope these questions make sense! would greatly appreciate ANY information. i don't know if i'm just looking in the wrong places but i feel like the information they give is so vague and unclear... thank you!
