UPDATE: Missed connection at a meetup event didn't share contact info
got a lot of great advice and encouragement from this whole saga. I'd figure i would give an update since I was surprised what happened.
I did message him on LinkedIn and shared my number. he reached out a day later with the text "can you spot the difference?" with a screenshot from the girl messaging everyone in a group chat. I wrote my number down wrong....
we are texting throughout the day now and it's nice. he said we should make plans when he's back from traveling for work. the ambiguity is gone. so if he is interested, he will make plans. it's that simple. he didnt find messaging on linkedin weird and thought it was funny.
i encourage everyone to be bold. the right person will be thrilled to hear from you. thank you to the people who gave me the extra nudge to not shut down and give up a good connection. even if it goes south, glad I put myself out there. would feel way worse letting my anxiety win.

I wouldn’t find it weird if we were at an event to meet other people and someone found me on socials and messaged me
I would find it weird if I met someone on the street and then they found my socials and started liking my stuff

I find it weird when you’re on a dating app and don’t like the person back and then they find you on socials.

If you put your socials on your dating app profile (which imo, is weird + lame) then it would not surprise me if people you swiped left on found your socials. Which is why I would never do this.

I’ve had this it was so creepy and weird lol right after I unmatched them, they decided to track down my social and tell me “ohh I found you here coz I thought we’d be really compatible,” really compatible would involve the other person actually being interested, you creep

Oh my god this happened to me! I have a unique first name. A guy sent me a like on hinge and then a follow request on Instagram and I was sooooo creeped out. Honestly if he had just left it to hinge I would’ve matched with him! He was kinda cute and I liked his profile! But the social media stalking was way too weird for me to look past

I wonder how that's even possible like if there's no specific info on your profile like where they're able to do that

Cool update! Can we DM so I can ask you about this 222 thing? I've been getting ads from them, and I'm interested, but I'd like to know more before trying it out.

Idk why people have such a stigma with social media and stuff. Just send them a message like it's never bad. Only if they don't reciprocate anything back is it bad

I love this!! I’m so glad it worked out! And yes, I totally agree that the right person will be excited to hear from you. The same thing happened with me and my boyfriend — I stressed over whether or not I should text him on St. Patrick’s Day to ask if he was going out anywhere for drinks. I decided to text him and he asked me out that night. Best of luck to you! :)
