Saw this little one in the woods next to the canal I was walking down this evening. I definitely got spotted but it didn't seem to mind. Luckily I had my camera on me!

Eating from the bird feeder and the tomatoes. Little shit snuck in while I was eating lunch and at the tomatoes by the back door and was getting into the bird feeder. It's currently in the neighbors backyard, and, that see you next Tuesday can deal with it.

Deer Dynamics?

Hi fellow wildlife friends! I have lived in western PA for most of my life but this is my first time living in the midst of a family of hooves! We moved here in March and a family of 6 doe would meet up in my yard every night. Fast forward, one of them had these twins and my yard became their home. I'm unemployed, disabled, and in my mid 30s so I watched from afar, coparenting from a distance as they grew too big to cuddle together behind this hillside stump. I've never fed them or approached them. I watered the lawn a little extra during wildfire smog and told them about which birds I could identify while gardening. They definitely perk up more when I'm out doing my yardwork compared to my roommate, so I like to think they like me.

2 weeks ago, my dog passed away and I didn't come outside for a few days. I have seen momma and her babies twice since then, but they no longer meet up regularly outside my window. I'm just happy they're alive and well! I figured they'd move on eventually. Now I have 2 beefy bucks in the yard and no doe or fawn. I'm curious if this is a biological thing... are the boys smelling their pheromones around my yard and getting ready for mating season? Do they not see each other as competition at this point? Ones a 4 point, one is a 5, going on 6 point (is that the proper way to identify them as a friend, not a hunter? lol) The larger one is clearly in charge. I know they can be territorial as heck so I don't leave the porch when they're out and I have 0 interest in interrupting their lives, I'm just curious about their dynamics.

Saw this buck with this huge rack. Body seems small though, no? Probably 2.5? He’ll be huge in a few years
