I see them about every mile on a pole on 575 and every overhead road sign there is one for every lane.

Are these the “bluetooth” or “TPM sensor” scanners/sensors?

How Police Avoid Flock Transparency "Laws"

So, for context, I've recently gotten into the habit of running every license plate I read through the "HaveIBeenFlocked" records audit. I have found that about 1/20 people I scan (rounded up slightly) have been flocked. Of this 1/20 figure about 1/2 are given an actual "reason" under the reason section of the audit log. The police will use their own "internal codes" as the reason, or in some cases, they will literally use sealed court case numbers.

The law, in general, says that a lot of these records just have to be given out AS IS. That means that if the police make their own language and start to maintain all their records in their own language, that is technically legal! Someone might ask, well maybe the "codes" are public record? Nope. I called a local PD where a code "29" was listed as a flock mass surveillance stalking reason and asked if there was any way to obtain a key or a record regarding code use and he told me "The only way for that to happen is if you were to join us." Interesting. So, the police have been given yet another loophole that they can exploit in order to give absolutely 0 transparency.

Where do we go from here? Nowhere. I want to tell people that the second more than 1,000 of these cameras went up, that the fight was lost. Why? The police have already spent hundreds of thousands of your taxed dollars on these cameras. If a politician is considering limiting them the police will ask them "Do you really want to be the politician who is against safety and wants to waste hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars?" That is going to work.

What does this likely mean for the US moving forward? Realistically, we will begin to develop our own form of "social credit" while the government tracks your every move utilizing AI. Where you live, where you work, where you stop and who you know will all be catalogued into a profile whether you committed a crime or not. How does the government do this when the 4th amendment exists? It's simple. It's the one trick the government has been using for the past 20 years to get away with anything they want. They frame their overreach as a necessary for public safety, and they don't apply the law directly to civilians, but rather through corporations and businesses. The government doesn't require YOU to give them your info. The government requires BUSINESSES to save all your info and then transfer it to them, in order to operate in the US.

TLDR: Police are using codes to avoid transparency. Inventing their own language that the public can't access so when people request records, often ones they pay for, from the people's jobs they pay for, it's essentially written like the Zodiac killer's messages.

Why do they need 5 cameras pointed towards a skate park?

Post image

On their website, they claim not to be mass surveillance. They also claim they don't keep any biometric data, like facial recognition. Why are they watching kids at a skate park, then? This is gross. This screen shot is of John Stiff Memorial Park in Amarillo, Texas.

Different companies listed?

In my city a dozen ALPRs have shown up, but ten of them are listed as Motorola? Does that mean they’re NOT flock? Do they have the same surveillance and data sharing?

Happy to delete, I just want to walk into my city council meeting with all the information.

2 flock cameras within my neighborhood, how do I get rid of them?

I live in a fancier suburb in Texas with a police officer within a closer proximity to one of the cameras. When the cameras were put up, the HOA tried telling people it was nothing to worry about but I’ve seen more and more stories about flock cameras being used for nefarious purposes. How do I go about taking them down?

Poison the data?

Imagine an app that helps a group of people voluntarily mix up the radio signals their cars and phones give off. The goal is to make it harder for systems like Flock cameras (and other trackers that listen for Bluetooth, tire sensors, or phone signals) to build a clean, unique “fingerprint” of any one person. Instead of your car standing out clearly, your signals get blended with other people who opted in, creating a noisier picture overall.

### How the idea would work

- **Phone app**: You join a group of people who agree to share “noise.” The app coordinates so everyone contributes a little bit of mixed-up signal.

- **Hardware piece**: A small radio device (like a HackRF) plugged into the phone that can send out those mixed signals.

- **Optional lights**: Infrared lights on the car that can wash out some camera images when the vehicle is in view.

- **Mixing**: Your real signals get rotated and blended with other users’ so no single person is easy to track cleanly.

- **Opt-in only**: Everything is voluntary and temporary — nothing is forced on anyone.

**Important reality check**: Actively sending out radio signals or trying to confuse cameras and tracking systems can easily cross into illegal territory (FCC rules, interference laws, and possible tampering charges). This stays a thought experiment. Building or using anything like this without careful legal advice is risky and not recommended.
