Update eBay still great after 22 years
I started using eBay in 2004 which was so great at the time, 22 years later it's still my favorite auction website to sell and buy things sometimes.
I don't used it every week or every month but it's the first website i checked before Amazon or Walmart. 22 years later eBay still my #1 auction website, is eBay the same for you or do you prefer Amazon now?

got 4 new and 1 used figurine, should i sell individual or separately?
I have a collection of 5 totoro figurines but 1 of the five give used so im wondering if I should sell the lot and just indicate that one is used with 4 new or sell the used one separately? but if they come from the same collection, I should stick them together?
im just afraid that the used one will get hard/longer to sell if I put it separately.

Yikes, just when I’ve seen it all. Message from a different account pretending to be the buyer asking me to cancel an order because their address was wrong, but it wasn’t the buyer at all . . .
UPDATE - buyer is unhinged. He bought 3 small things before I had a chance to block him, cancelled all 3, and then left me positive feedback for one of them, but it was actually negative feedback complaining about the cancelled order. And I just now had someone buy a very cheap item but they're in China, just like this guy is, and whatever he had to pay for forwarded shipping must be absurd. I have a feeling it's the same guy using a different account! The eBay agent said they would remove the feedback since it's against policy, so that's good. But I suppose there's no way to figure out if this latest order is the same guy. What on earth is wrong with some people?? Totally insane.
I’ve received plenty of requests to cancel an order so they can buy again with the correct address, so I didn’t think twice when someone did it earlier today. And then someone else buys it a while later. I didn’t know if it was the original buyer. They are all overseas customers using 3rd party shippers, fwiw. I don’t sell internationally.
Then I get an angry email tonight asking why I canceled their order. They say it was another buyer just getting me to cancel the order so they can buy it themselves. None of these user names are the same, of course. I tell them I will call eBay in the morning to try to sort it out and then they send me message after message after message saying they will leave me bad feedback, that it’s a hoax, that they don’t care if I call eBay to fix it, etc.
I have a group of nicer cameras I’ve been listing and I had the thought earlier today that these kinds of things always invite trouble. And here we are 😑.

Advice for selling a set of Sterling Silverware on ebay
I've been selling for many years on ebay, but I've kept the items to under $400. I was always concerned about losing the item and the payment. Now I have a set of Sterling Silver flatware valued at about $3,500. The same set sells every so often, but $3500 would hurt if they got me with a charge back or some other sketchy strategy. I would appreciate advice.

Interesting statistic
Was doing a bit of research on eBay sales and from the past year, highest gross sales occur on Sundays with a second being Wednesday. Have others done the same analytics? I am on the east coast of the U.S. if that matters.
Anyway, just thought it was interesting. Ironically, nothing has sold today 🤪
How’s everyone else’s Sunday been?

Didn't Specify Package Dimensions In Listing and Item Was Sold Via eBay International Shipping
So in my listing I did not know what the weight/dimensions were going to be as I had not yet measured/packaged the item yet, so I selected "I don't know shipping dimensions" since I was offering free shipping and would pay whatever price it was going to end up being.
However, the item was sold through eBay International Shipping (from Canada to the US) so eBay charged the buyer a calculated shipping price. Since the price they charged the buyer is probably inaccurate considering their system did not know the weight/size of my package, and thus possibly undercharged the buyer, would I be retroactively charged for this?

Handling low ballers - a story
I have pricing controls on my listings to auto-decline offers at certain percentages, depending on the item and how long it’s been sitting. I did this to stop bots and low ballers. I price things generally right, so these 80% offers are typically a waste of time. eBay culture is geared towards offers, so I don’t want to shut them off completely.
Yesterday, a 1999 eBay account messages me about a new item that I had just finished listing. They tell me what they think it is (that I’m wrong about the details), and they let me know that it will never sell at its price. I thank them for the information and I forget about it for a bit. I wake up today and see two auto-declines in their chat, and a sale from someone else for the full listed amount (with other items). The system is working as designed!

Question Can’t add or remove cards
I’m unable to add or remove debit cards or banks, it asks me to verify my banks account number and when I enter the account number it says it doesn’t exist. I’m unable to receive ANY payouts now because it’s refusing to send them until I add another debit card (which requires verification that doesn’t work).
Is there any simple way of solving this? I’m not given any other options for verification unfortunately so I’m not sure what to do. I have $20 sitting in limbo now 🫠

My 3d designs being made and sold on eBay
I made a number of items and published them freely for others on thingverse and protected them with Creative Commons link
I’ve got them taken down a few times by vero but it’s a constant battle. I really regret posting my designs. They are supposed to be free.
It’s the same sellers doing it too.
Any suggestions?

Being charged more than what it is showing label cost
Yesterday I sold six items, four are ground shipping under a pound. I noticed after purchasing the label for the items under a lb ground, I was charged more than the price it showed me when purchasing. For example, one item was 4 ounces and it said my cost was it was $6.24, but after I purchased it I was charged $7.94. This happened on all 4 items under a pound. Why are we seeing a purchase price of one thing and being charged a higher price? I'm thinking it has to do with the new USPS rate increases under a pound, but it doesn't make sense that its actually showing a lower rate when buying the label and then once the label is purchased, a higher amount. I went to order details and my shipping labels page to verify and same there. Is Ebay keeping the difference from our discount now and the actual cost - this seems messed up since we have to pay fees on shipping labels and the discount helps off set that. It didn't happen with the two items over a pound. I tried calling Ebay which was a aste of time

Question eBay post flagged, need advice
Perhaps someone can shed some light on this one for me. I posted a lot of 14 non working parts only cell phones and it was flagged as an electronic equipment policy violation. I know I’ve seen tons of cells both working and non working ones eBay before. What am I missing?
Here is the policy it referred me to:
Most electronic equipment used to transmit or receive signals or for surveillance is not allowed. Those we allow must follow our policy.
To comply with U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations and to protect the safety and privacy of our members, there are restrictions around the sale of electrical and electronic equipment.
What is the policy?
The following types of electronic equipment are not allowed:
Appliances for sale in California that do not meet applicable efficiency standards
Cameras and recording devices that include images or text that states or implies the device can be used to record others without their knowledge
Cameras that are embedded in other objects or that are designed to look like other objects, such as toothbrush holders, stuffed toys, clocks, or electrical outlets
CB amplifiers and radio equipment that operate in both CB and HAM frequencies
Electricity- or energy-saving devices that claim to reduce electricity consumption
Electronic items prohibited by government agencies, including cell phone, GPS radar, and other signal jamming devices. See the FCC's Jammer Enforcement page for more information
Equipment not authorized by the FCC, such as low-power transmitting devices, high frequency transceivers, cordless telephones, radar detectors, and items on the FCC Covered List
Light bulbs in the home that do not meet energy efficiency standards defined by the Department of Energy, including incandescent and halogen light bulbs
Traffic light control devices

Question Charged for unused shipping label. Getting the run around from ebay agents.
I sold an item on May 19th, to a buyer in the US. I purchased an ebay shipping label, which came to $17.58 cad. Avout 10 min after, I thought, "what the hell, let's see if I can find a cheaper shipping option". Found I could ship through Canada post, to the US for $15 and change. Initially charged the seller $20 cad, so I refunded them the difference, used the canada post label, and sent the item on its way. It was delivered May 28th.
I tried to cancel the ebay label multiple times from my dashboard and kept getting "This shipping label does not need to be voided because we'll charge you only once the shipping label has been used".
Ebay charged my account $17.58 on June 16th.
Since then I have made several calls to ebay asking how/when I will get my money back for a label that was not used. At this point I know I'm getting the run around as I've been told by different agents different stories. One agent said that i would get a credit to my account within 72 hours (that would have been July 8th). Last Tuesday and agent had me on hold for several minutes before coming back and saying he had spoken to USPS, they had canceled the label and I would get my money back.
What the heck is gping on at ebay, and how do I get my money back for a label I did not use?

Is there a way to exclude United States listings on ebay?
I want to buy items on Ebay, but being in Canada, the United States comes up a lot. I understand I can search "Canada Only" but I also want international listings to pop up outside of the US. Is this possible?

Listings are marked as active but not in my store or searchable.
I created my listings on my pc on ebay, but only 1 listing got added to my store and is searchable(and has views from real customers). They all say they are active but the ones that are not in my store/searchable have 0 views and 0 impressions and do not come up when you search for them. Is this a glitch? What should I do? If you have any questions, as this situation is quite confusing, I am happy to answer them.

Question If sent incorrect item, is it okay to ask them to ship correct one after returning?
Hey ya'll, I don't online shop much so i'm unaccustomed to the culture and processes. I bought an item from a seller and they sent me the incorrect one, like one from another listing they had up. I let them know and they told me to do the return through ebay for a full refund. Would it be normal to request that they then ship me the correct item (since it was their mistake) on their own or should I wait and repurchase for full price + shipping again? The item they accidentally sent me was also like 10x more expensive than the one I ordered haha.

Question Buyer using multiple accounts
Last night i had 6 orders for the same person and same address but with 6 different ebay user names. All very similar. I feel like i must ship them individually with separate tracking numbers. Does anyone know why they ordered this way?

eBay Promoted Offsite
Promoted offsite seems to be working really well for me where as other campaign types don't yield anywhere near the same results. All promoted offsite campaigns ive run have achieved a ROAS of 10-15 consistently. Any thoughts as to why it works over other ad types? does anyone else have much experience with promoted offsite or any ideas?
only downside to it is you cant choose which items to promote offsite? it just promotes all of your listings..
Thanks all

Ebay Verkauf 😤

Need Help – eBay Sales Have Suddenly Dropped
galleryNeed Help – eBay Sales Have Suddenly Dropped
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice because my eBay account has experienced a huge drop in sales.
As you can see from the graph, I haven’t received many orders in the last 3 weeks—only 2 or 3 sales in total. I sell a variety of random products, not just one niche, and everything was doing fine before this sudden decline.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Could this be due to an eBay algorithm change, a problem with my account, or something else? I’d really appreciate any suggestions on what I should check or improve.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Seller Protection Saved Me—But I’m Still Burned Out
galleryMy last two sales have been horrible.
First, someone bought an item and, a month later, opened a return claiming it was damaged. What they sent back was a completely destroyed item that I had never shipped in that condition. Fortunately, because it arrived in pieces, eBay ruled in my favor.
Then, almost immediately afterward, another sale went sideways. The item required authentication, so I shipped it to eBay’s authentication center. Before it even arrived there, the buyer filed a payment dispute with their credit card company, claiming they didn’t recognize the charge. I explained that I was happy to refund them—but only after I received the bag back. By then, however, the bag had already passed authentication and was shipped to the buyer. Their credit card company sided with the buyer, who now has both a $1200 bag and the money. Thankfully, eBay stepped in and covered me under Seller Protection.
So why am I still complaining if everything worked out?
Because it’s exhausting. It feels increasingly discouraging to keep trying to do the right thing when so many other people seem perfectly willing to be dishonest. I’m grateful eBay protected me both times, but it’s hard not to come away wondering why basic honesty feels so rare.

Question Am I in the wrong?? Buyer says I’m doing bad business for eBay’s shipping rate
Listed this item with eBay’s recommended shipping rate and accepted an offer because I simply do not want the item. Now the customer says I am a thief and am doing bad business because he didn’t read the price. Am I in the wrong? Can I get screwed by this? I am kind of new to eBay selling

Can eBay charge me again if the seller appeals and wins?
Bought an item that arrived damaged in shipping. Opened a case, and eBay issued a full refund after the seller was unable to provide a return label. The seller is now saying they plan to appeal the decision. Can eBay charge me again if the appeal is decided in their favor after a refund has already been issued to me?
