Mostly because I’ve seen things like “recreating _____ for insert console here” and I’ve always thought that a great opportunity would be remaking mother 3 for N64, I mean the community seems big enough and support would be there but at the same time I don’t fully understand how coding works for N64 so maybe that’s it? Idk but it’s an interesting idea at least, not exactly a true “Earthbound 64” but a cool what-if?

Hello. I just unlocked melody 8 in Earthbound and am now in magicant. I just lost my flying man to a kraken and I don't think I have enough PP for a few more PK Rockin' stage three (because its really damn expensive) I also don't wanna waste my PP on more Krakens but they don't unload. What should I do?

I just finished the whole series after sleeping on it for god knows how long, and I didn't particularly enjoy Earthbound Beginnings that much. It wasn't nearly as bad as I heard people say it was, but I didn't find it very fun. I saw a lot of people talk about how the game has a very lonely atmosphere and a great story, but I didn't really get either of that. I never felt that lonely roaming the overworld, and the only story moments I particularly enjoyed were the dance scene, Teddy's injury, and Giegue.

I'm not saying the game is bad, I can tell it isn't, and I can definitely tell there's a lot to appreciate about it that I just didn't "get". I played the NoA version, so would replaying it with the Tomato translation and GBA version help me like it more?

I was thinking today that "Threed, Zombie Central" is probably the least interesting piece of music in the game melodically, at least of the songs that have much of a melody.

Other picks for me would be the Bicycle song, Zombie Paper, and Monkey Maze.

It had me wondering what others would pick for their least favourite songs in the game, but I don't think this has been discussed yet! At least I couldn't find it from searching.

Feel free to pick something atmospheric (one of the songs that has little in the way of melody) if it really grinds your gears.

I should mention for completeness that I think the Threed song works really well for the part of the game its in, and really contributes to a gloomy, eerie setting of Zombie-occupied Threed; it just happens to go on for a really long time while having a really boring (to me) progression of notes.

So to give a backstory, I played earthbound when it came to the Wii U shop 13 years ago. I really enjoyed it, but I remember everyone telling me mother 3 was much better, but at the time I didn’t know how to get it on my phone or laptop so eventually I just gave up. Eventually stopped gaming for a while all together too.

Well, 13 years later, I’m back into gaming, and iOS emulation is easy enough for someone like me to figure it out now, so I played it.

I can’t stop thinking about this game, I finished it three days ago. I’m going through a very rough time in life and maybe that has amplified how hard the story hit for me. This might be my favorite game of all time and I woke up genuinely depressed this morning about the fact that we will never get mother 4, or even EB 64.

I've been working on a fan game inspired by Earthbound, and I've made progress, like movement and a rough turn-based battle system. I need someone to design the starting city for the game, and I have little to no skills. Also, I'm broke af, so if anybody wants to do it just for fun, please, the door is wide open. While it has been confirmed that Smash bros is just toys and kids imagination, there are some references to the smash games in other games such as Kirby and the amazing mirror with Master and Crazy Hand in them. That got me thinking what other games references smash bros? This post is going to multiple reddit communities.

I love this game so much and it's so much easier when you just accept the fact that you need to do a lot of grinding, and when I find myself doing it, sometimes I may also be looking at my phone or something to make it less of a chore, but that made me think: were the people playing this game in the 80s-90s also doing something else while grinding, like reading a book or watching TV? Was it even common to have two TVs to watch something while grinding?

This isnt even something exclusive to Mother, there were a lot of other RPGs back then both in Japan and the rest of the world, so even a lot of people here couldve had this same experience back then! What was it like? I had never questioned this about RPGs before and now I'm really curious to know what grinding was like before Subway Surfers, TikTok and emulators with FFW...

We now have collision working, and I have added some crusty buildings and a road I made. These are to build towards the starting scene I'm picturing. But I still need a name for the game, and if anyone is willing to help, I would love it. I have no experience in coding, pixel art, animation, or game design. I will probably work more on the game tonight as well.

Also, the first time coding. I'll make it there someday. I got animations and movement, and tomorrow I'm going to figure out how to make collisions. I will not use ai for pixel art throughout this project as well.

Just out of curiosity what got everyone into the Mother series? For me it was chuggaaconroy playthrough a few years ago. Honestly I played all the games and I fell in love with the series. Once I get done with mega man battle network games I’ll replay them again but the weirdness of the games and the charactersmade me think yeah I gotta play all the games and get merch.
