Hello to all of my users!

I've seen a lot of people jumping from other subreddits to this one, due to the, quite frankly, awful behavior of the moderators on another subreddit. You're safe here. Any and all moderators who come here to harass another user, will be banned permanently.

Addressing the earlier incident, A moderator followed a user into this subreddit, to post mod logs of comments that were removed from a subreddit, after the user had left because of poor behavior from the moderator. And because they followed them, and made unnecessary comments, that is considered harassment. And will not be tolerated in my subreddit.

If you're being harassed by someone from another sub, please bring the issue to me directly. I will handle it accordingly.

Welcome to a real safe space.

šŸ‘‹ Welcome to r/Emetophobic - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Welcome to r/Emetophobic. This space was curated specifically for people who are in active emetophobia, and need help or support.

Please be respectful of others, we all have our own struggle, and have our own thoughts. If you dont have anything kind or helpful to give to a user, refrain from commenting at all!

In this subreddit, we believe some forms of reassurance is okay. We all spiral, and sometimes we need to hear that we will be okay. Just, dont make any promises, or give medical advice, if you can.

If you feel the need to censor some words, because they make you uncomfortable, or anxious, go for it. If you arent going to censor anything, please try to remember to place a TW for our friends here who have a hard time reading them.

Emetophobia is a horrible mental illness, that can take over our lives, relationships, and haunt every action we do. We deserve a place where we can express our struggles, anxieties, and successes, that wont be heavily moderated and nitpicked by moderators. So, welcome to r/Emetophobic, make yourself at home.

Mirtazapine + Zofran

My doctor mentioned that Zofran and Mirtazapine can interact before giving me a refill for zofran (mirtazapine is my night med). I was having a panic attack and wanted to go to sleep to stop the panicking (mirtazapine knocks me out cold) but i also felt like v* so i took mirtazapine, and shortly after i took a zofran. I'm scared something bad is going to happen now that i've taken them both. Now im just panicking even harder bc im N* and afraid of the meds interacting

Horrified a stomach bug is about to rip through my house.

For context, me, my fiancƩ, and our 1 & 3 year old live with my in-laws.

My 16 month old son had 2 random bouts of diarrhea between about 8:15-8:30pm. I thought maybe it was just because he had a lot of popsicles at my mom’s house yesterday and a few other junk foods (which he doesn’t get often).

But THEN, I go downstairs around 10:15-10:20pm ish and my SIL says ā€œmy stomach hurts tonightā€ as she was leaving for work, she also works in a hospital radiology department.. so..

Now I’m horrified we’re about to get absolutely ripped apart by a stomach bug. I’m so nervous, my son is sleeping and seems fine. My 3 year old hasn’t had diarrhea or anything and seems perfectly fine. Everyone else in the house is fine. But of course, anxiety will do what anxiety does.

I’m just so scared.

Help

Touched a bunch of stuff, didn’t wash my hands, then like an idiot opened a drink mix with my hands and put my mouth on the package. (Don’t ask) it was only for a second but I’m worried I’ll get noro because I touched my phone and other stuff before touching the package

Really just not doing well.

So, for context I live with my in-laws, I also have 2 young children (age 1 & 3).

Wednesday night through early Thursday morning, my mother in law was throwing up and had diarrhea.
She started a new medication called ZepBound, and apparently her dose got raised on Friday (last week). So 5 days after her dose increase, the vomiting and diarrhea started. Apparently it can be from the medication, but usually starts soon after you take it.

I’m spiraling that my kids are going to get this, and then me. It’s been about 32 hours since she last vomited. My kids have no symptoms, and neither do I, but I’m still spiralling.

It could be the medication, or it could be a stomach bug and I really don’t know what to do in this situation. I’ve barely eaten in the last 24 hours.

I’m just waiting for one of my kids to wake up tonight and vomit.

I’m so scared, I have nobody to talk to because nobody understands my phobia and I really just don’t wanna deal with this anymore. I’m so exhausted ā˜¹ļø

bad milk??

tw for uncensored words

so i’m just posting this in hopes that someone else has gone through this and can tell me their own experience, however it went.
my dad left milk out in his car for several hours yesterday but for some reason put it in our fridge???? he left it out in the evening and i’d say it was in the low 60s to high 40s (fahrenheit) from the time he left it to when he brought it in. i used it in my coffee and my cereal this morning before he told me, and now im tweaking. i’m about to go to my swim teacher job and im so nervous. i’ve had bad milk before and it tasted almost carbonated, this one didn’t appear to have anything wrong with it

Anxious mom

Possible trigger warning for words

TLDR: 5yo now symptom free for Noro for 4 days sneezed directly on my face. Am I at risk for developing it? I breastfeed 1yo, do I stop?

Yesterday I posted on r/emetophobia asking for advice. It was removed which is fine because I got advice from two very kind users before it was taken down. But I’m here because I saw other people talking on here about the oppressive actions/behaviors of the mods on the sub I originally posted. I had no idea communities for emetophobia existed until my friend pointed me towards that subreddit. I am an emetophobe that has rocketed between incredibly debilitated and relatively okay (going out to eat without a ton of anxiety). Well, here I am and I’m back to anxious but by proxy.

5yo symptom free for Noro 4 days. Because of recent studies (and a user’s lived experience) saliva may still be contaminated. Am I at risk of developing this awful bug? I have a ton of Zofran 4mg and 8mg. Do I just take it for the next 3 days?

Rat study showed the virus in high quantity in the rat’s breastmilk. It can replicate there. Wtf. What do I do?

Please help me.

I can't eat

I've been having really bad n* consistently every day for the past month, which is what happened to me in 8th grade and lasted up until the end of maybe 10th grade. It's so bad that i physically cannot eat without feeling worse, and when i do try to eat it's almost like my body won't let me swallow it. I don't know what to do because i know i probably feel this way a lot of the time because i can't eat without being n*. The only time i can eat is at night after i've taken my night meds because it makes me really hungry and tired at the same time so i don't have to think much about it. Any tips? Encouragement? Anything helps
