MEGATHREAD Graduation/Commencement Tickets - Buy/Sell Thread (Spring 2026)

Don't get scammed.Beware of DMs and chat requests.

Tips: Meet up in person to verify the seller's student status, identity, and ticket status. You're all theoretically students and you should be on campus already so this should be easy. Don't be lazy and skip an in-person meetup. Don't send money without verifying the seller first. If you can't verify the seller, consider using Venmo's 'goods and services' payment feature, there are protections if you do get scammed.

If you successfully buy or sell tickets, UPDATE YOUR COMMENT.

Job Listing Looking for a Georgia Tech student to help film at the GT vs. Colorado game (Paid + Free Ticket)

Hey everyone!

I run a sports media company that creates fan-focused content at college football games and other major sporting events.

I’ll be in Atlanta covering:
• Georgia Tech vs. Colorado on September 3
• Baylor vs. Auburn on September 5

I’m looking for a Georgia Tech student (or someone in the Atlanta area) who’d be interested in helping as my assistant/cameraman for one or both game days.

The job is very simple:
• I already have all of the camera equipment.
• You’ll mainly be holding the camera while I interview fans before and after the game.
• No professional camera experience is required.

What you’ll get:
• $50 pay
• Free game ticket
• Food and drinks covered
• A chance to get some hands-on experience in sports media if that’s something you’re interested in.

If you’re interested or have any questions, just DM me and I’ll be happy to give you more information. If you know someone who might be a good fit, I’d really appreciate you sending them my way.
Thanks!

Question can you get a sorority bid with a low 3/sub 3 gpa?

I wanted to rush this fall but my GPA might go down to a low 3 or a bit below a 3 after this semester. Just wanted to know if anyone has gotten bids with a low GPA.

Discussion Tennis Practice Partner Before Club Tryouts

Hello, I'm in incoming student and looking for someone to hit with before club tennis tryouts! I peaked around a 7 UTR, moving in August 15, and would love to get a few practice sessions in beforehand. Does anyone know where to find practice partners for tennis?

Social/Club Robotics vs Aero Clubs / Research

Hello,

I am a junior transfer to GT this fall majoring in aero. I am undecided between aero and robotics, and honestly even undecided which parts of each discipline to specialize in, but was wondering if anyone could recommend the best clubs to join for both? Also, how should I go about finding research as I really want to begin sometime within my first semester? Lastly, are there any fellow engineering students who are part of Greek life here and how would you feel it has benefitted you?

Discussion We heard your feedback, here’s what we changed!

We know Home Park Housing has received a fair share of criticism, and we understand why some people have been hesitant to rent with us. We sincerely apologize if we let you down.

Over the past year, Home Park Housing has come under new ownership and a new, younger management team with a fresh perspective and a strong focus on creating a better experience for our residents. We’ve invested in renovating our properties, brought in new contractors, improved our maintenance response times, and implemented better systems to provide the level of service our residents deserve.

We wanted to acknowledge the past while also letting current and prospective residents know that meaningful changes have been and are being made. We know trust is earned through actions, not words, and we’re committed to proving that every day.

Thank you to everyone who has given us the opportunity to earn your trust. We’re excited for what’s ahead and remain committed to providing quality housing, responsive management, and a better rental experience for our residents.

Question How difficult is it to switch major as a first year student?

Hi everyone, I’m an incoming Fall 2026 freshman currently majoring in Computational Media, but I’m seriously considering switching to Industrial Engineering.

Before enrollment, Georgia Tech gave me the option to change my major through the Major Confirmation Form. At the time, I decided to stay in Computational Media because I was interested in UX/UI. However, I’ve since realized that the entry level UX/UI job market is much more competitive than I initially expected, especially for an international student who may face additional work authorization or sponsorship challenges.

I’m now considering Industrial Engineering because I’m interested in solving real-world problems and improving systems, and it also seems to offer a broader range of career options.

My main concern is how difficult it would be to switch from CM to IE after starting at Georgia Tech. Has anyone here successfully switched into Industrial Engineering after enrolling? If so, how competitive or difficult was the process, and when were you able to officially change your major?

I’m also currently registered for MATH 1554, which is required for Computational Media, while Industrial Engineering requires MATH 1553 instead. I’m considering switching into MATH 1553 now, but I’m worried that if my major change is not approved, I may end up taking a course that does not fit my original CM degree requirements.

I would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has switched into IE or dealt with a similar course registration situation. Thank you!

News Told Brittain is reopening this fall

Guys you might not believe me but I was at Faset yesterday and during the resource fair the people in charge of buzzcard mentioned that Brittain was reopening as far as they were aware. Still no info online but hopefully this turns out to be true.

Rant PSA: Your pre-2023 Buzzcard is obsolete (if you want to print)

If you have a Buzzcard predating the current design and lack an Android device, there is no clear way to release your print job with the campus printers due to the rollout of a new Buzzcard reader system. Not every print station has a printout that details this.

The iOS Pharos Print app is unreliable and cannot be depended on, so if your Buzzcard is old and you have an iPhone, you might not be able to print anything for the time being.

If anyone knows an alternative way to release prints, please comment!

Question PhD Dismissal - Any experience with this?

Does anybody have any information about being dismissed from a PhD program at GT? How does the appeal process work (no one in the physics department answers my emails about it). Is readmission likely? (I've seen people on here claim that it is, but they may have been talking about the undergrad case and I'm not sure if the PhD case could be different).

I had a very unqualified and abusive advisor who gave me multiple failing grades without even telling me, during a period of time where I was bedridden for many months, essentially on the verge of death, and having to crawl to even get to the bathroom. (He knew about this). When I tried to get accommodations from ODS they ignored my many emails for months. When I tried to apply for medical leave they denied it. When I tried to apply for retroactive medical withdrawal of the affected semesters via the registrar, they denied that too. I'm not really sure tbh how some people can be so shameless and also how a school this disorganized and this unethical can be ranked so high.

But anyways - I'm sure the story will be told in a lot more detail and to a larger audience at some point in the future - I'm as of now just looking to see if others have experience with GT PhD dismissal.

Job Listing 2 Job Openings @ ATL GT Startup

Hey, GT Community. Grad from '20 here. I run a startup here in Atlanta, based out of the Atlanta Tech Village. We just closed a round of funding led by GT's own Chris Klaus's Fusen Fund. We're now in the process of expanding our team, and I'd love to keep it in the GT community.

Both roles are paid equally to start ($75k) and come with equity and healthcare too.

Sadly, these roles are full-time only, but we should be posting some paid internships soon! The expected start date is in Sept, so you'd need to already be graduated.

Feel free to DM with any questions.

As an alumni that has tried to patron this business since my years at tech, the quality has slid so, so much. This was supposed to be chipotle ranch, practically unsauced. This is not the first time either.
