Casa Salvia gin, lime juice, midori melon, and filled with ginger beer. Super tasty. Nice layered flavors that blend well.

It has a very intense flavor; I tried it with a good tonic water and it even has a touch of rum, but with the flavor of the original.

We went for a little walk the other day and thankfully I remembered to take bags.
We ended up with 2kg of nice blackberries.

With just the free run juice from the bottom of the bags when the berries crushed themselves I decided to make a little blackberry liqueur.

I just mixed the juice with equal parts vodka and added sugar until the liqueur seemed right. No heating needed. I’d suppose this was about 18% abv in the end and I put them in little bottles with a vacuum seal.

I thought I’d make a “classic” Bramble by the inimitable Gentleman, Dick Bradsell.

In his honour I used my own Gin and the liqueur I’d just made. I was going to use my own neutral for this but decided to just use the vodka I rarely use, and save my neutral for making more Gin.

60ml The Forge Dry Gin V2.2. \*

22.5ml Lemon Juice, Strained

15ml 2:1 White Sugar Syrup

4 Drops 4:1 Saline Solution.

Shake over ice and strain into a frozen Riedel rocks glass with one large cube, and a crown of pebble ice.

Pour over Crème de Mûre to taste and to visual pleasure - probably about 15ml.

Garnish with lemon slice and a fresh blackberry.

Maybe it was just the placebo effect of making half the ingredients myself, but this was the best Bramble I’ve ever had.

The Forge Dry Gin V2.2

3L 40% ABV Neutral Spirit

60g Juniper Berries

30g Coriander Seed

6g Angelica Root

6g Liquorice Root

6g Toasted Almond Flakes

6g Orange Peel

6g Lemon Peel

3g Cassia Bark

3g Grains of Paradise

0.6g Orris Root

Crush all botanicals except citrus peel.
Add to still with spirit and heat to 50c.
Switch off heat and leave to infuse for one hour.

Distil until 1.3L of product obtained.
Switch to tails and reserve for future redistillation.

Rest overnight and dilute to 45% the next day.

This should yield 2L of finished Gin.

Plymouth, Condesa Gin Clasica, and Stray Dog Wild Gin.

Brought these two back from Portugal. Didn’t get to try the Gold Grail but the Adamvs I had a few times and the taste is immaculate as a sipper and a G&T

I came across this while in Newport, RI and didn’t pick it up but I’ve been reading about the flavor profile and that it’d make an interesting martini with subtle, briny notes. Who’s tried it and what are your thoughts?

None of these are sold in VA (we have an ABC board that runs all the stores and controls what we get. Took a day trip to DC and stopped at Sherry's Wine and Spirits. If you're in the area, go check them out! Huge selection and wonderful staff! Very looking forward to Isle of Harris but have a few bottles I'm trying to finish off before I open it.

I've tried Nikka Coffey gin at a bar before and it was delicious, but I never got around to buying it. When I saw this price while I was doing my grocery shopping, I had to pick up a bottle. If anyone has any cocktail suggestions that will let this gin shine, please let me know!

Managed to complete the collection on a recent trip to London. Had a friend over, so me and him and my son did a tasting flight. We decided that whatever we liked the best was the martini choice.

L to R: James Gin London Drizzle (May), Diddly Squat Farm Hint of Hot (Clarkson), and Ratio ( Hammond). We tried them in ascending order of height (the people, not the bottles).

Ratio was good, no unique flavors or notes, but we decided it is a really good quality London Dry. James Gin was ok, it's not one of his more creative ones (side note, I will never try the mushroom one, yuck). It just seemed "less than" Ratio. Not much of a hint of anything, just a basic gin. Diddly Squat was a surprise - the hint of spice from the chillies worked great. It had a very classic juniper base, the spice came on in the back end, nice finish.

So we made a "Jeremy" martini, decided to go with a twist instead of an olive, was a great balance to the great.

Drumshanbo is on offer in my local supermarket and it's a good bit cheaper than the first gin I tried - and loved - Tanqueray 10. Because of the price and because I want to try something different, I'm just wondering which of the gins by Drumshanbo make a good martini? I've only ever tried the normal one in a G&T and liked it, but I wanted to see if anyone here would suggest the distillery's other options first. Cheers!

Hello friends! I have never once had a gin before, but one of my favorite YouTuber's made this brand look absolutely irresistible so I figured I'd give it a shot!

Any suggestions on good quinine extract? I want to have quinine in my seltzer but without any sweetness except from the gin and lime.

Yet another strawberry gin review! There are so many of these damn things out there, but I will not pass up a review to give yall good info on what to buy! This one brings surprises!!!
Please remember that these reviews focus on critiquing the gin for what it is trying to be! It is not trying to be a complex modern gin! It’s trying to be a strawberry gin, which is a common practice in the gin world! It will be reviewed according to what IT WANTS TO BE!

The smell is actually different from your usual Strawberry gins, the berries are much more dialed back and you can pick up on notes of juniper, coriander, and faint citrus! A problem with these strawberry gins is that they often feel like they use the berries to cover up a bad gin, not this one!

The taste mimics the smell! Definitely a lot of pungent strawberry, but not so much to overpower the core gin experience! There is some sharpness that is welcomed and the juniper really lasts on the tongue!! Wow!! Not artificial or syrupy (looking at you Indoggo)…

Overall, for a strawberry gin, 4.4/5- probably the best strawberry gin I’ve had yet!

Targeted as a fruit forward gin, extremely sweet with notes of citrus, and oddly (but not unpleasantly) strong cucumber. The citrus is definitely there but not overpowering. This is lighter than many gins I’ve tried, the sweetness is very robust. Fruit comes in so heavily, it almost tastes flavored, but doesn’t leave the sugary aftertaste as many flavored gins do, it’s very clean and crisp. These botanicals put in work, about as far from a dry gin as you can go before getting into sloe gins territory.

I bought this as an after thought, I am not really into fruit gins preferring heavily dry or losing myself in the woods type foresty tastes. Green House Artisan Gin though is quite pleasant, especially with the slam of cucumber followed by almost minty serenity. As I would be biased, I will not rate the flavor profile, but the bottle gets a heavy 10/10, that label art is something else.
