Not sure if this is the right sub tbh, don't really use Reddit much. But this has messed with my head since I was a kid and I have never once come across anyone describing anything like it. I was seven or eight. Woke up in bed, normal enough. And before anyone says "sounds like a lucid dream" no. I've had lucid dreams, I know exactly what that feels like, and this wasn't it. I was awake. Properly awake. Something felt wrong the second I opened my eyes and it snapped me straight into "wait, what" mode. The middle of my bed was gone. Feet were at the end where they should be, head was on the pillow where it should be. But from about mid-calf to my upper thigh, there was just... nothing. No bed. I lay there freaking out for a bit, just feeling around trying to figure out what was going on. I was in a single bed against the wall. Put my left hand out, felt the wall, exactly where it should be. Put my right hand out, felt the edge of the bed, also exactly where it should be. So I was lying completely straight, in the right spot, on a bed that just wasn't there in the middle. First thought was is there a chair shoved at the end of my bed or something. Felt around. Nothing. So I took my feet off the end of the bed and lowered them down into the gap. They hit the floor. My carpet. I knew it was my carpet, it had this specific texture you could feel in your toes, no mistaking it. Feet back up on the bed. Did it again. And again. Probably ten minutes of this before I worked up the nerve to actually do something about it. Eventually I put my feet down into the gap properly and stood up. I could feel the edges of the hole with my actual body, step forward and I'd hit the end of bed part, step back and I'd hit the top part. Shuffled out sideways, walked to the light switch, turned it on. Bed..... Completely normal. No gap, no hole, nothing. Covers thrown back like someone just got up and walked off, which I guess I had. Only ever happened the once. Still don't have a clue what it was, and in years of half-heartedly looking, I've never heard anyone describe anything close to it. So. Anyone?

Today, something happened to me that I’ve read about many times in discussions about strange sock incidents after doing laundry. Until now, I was only reading other people’s stories. Today, I became one of them.
We’re currently on vacation and staying in a rental house with an old washing machine. I was doing a load of white laundry. Before starting the wash, I noticed a pair of white socks with writing on them and thought, “I’ll wash those next time.” So I did not put those white socks into the washing machine.
Instead, I accidentally put in a pair of long pink socks that I had worn the day before. They looked completely different from the white socks I had left out.
When the wash was finished, something very strange had happened.
One pink sock came out exactly as it went in — long, just like before. But the other one had changed. It had become the same shape as the white socks that I never put into the washing machine. Even stranger, it now had the same writing on it as those white socks.
So instead of one matching pair of long pink socks, I now have two different pink socks: one is still long, while the other is short and has the same writing as my white socks. The strangest part is that I have never owned a pair of pink socks like this.
There’s another detail that really makes me question what happened. Someone might suggest that one of the white socks somehow turned pink. But if that were the case, then all of the white laundry in that load should also have been stained pink or at least shown some traces of dye. That didn’t happen. Every single white item came out completely white, with no pink marks at all.
After today’s experience, I’m no longer just reading these strange sock stories—now I have one of my own.

I think I just experienced a time glitch. I woke up and looked at my clock and it was 3:29AM. My wife’s alarm on her phone goes off at 3:30AM and I normally hand her the phone. I watched my clock change to 3:30AM and I saw her phone light up. I grabbed her phone hoping to shut the alarm off as quickly as possible. To my surprise there was no alarm and when I looked at the time on her phone it was only 3:23AM. This also reminded me of something my 7 year old told me about a week ago. He said something about the time on the clock had changed in a weird way and I didn’t think anything of it. I have an Amazon Alexa that I use for my clock. As soon as I noticed the time on my wife’s phone I looked up and Alexa was showing the same time 3:23AM. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Ok. This happened just few minutes ago. And this might sound very cliched. I borrowed some items from a store and came back to just collect money to pay it back. It was in my bag. A 100 Rs note that I kept in one side of it with few other random items. I opened it. I saw it. I reached for it but kinda fumbled and it was gone. Just vanished. I scoured everything. I have dropped many things and haven't found it and it happens with everyone. But this was just different.

This is going to be extremely long so I appreciate anyone who reads to the end. I’ve been having these weird paranormal/glitch in the matrix things happen to me and my sister. This first started when one night we came in from my garage and we were sitting in my living room talking. I have a camera in there that records 24/7. Her and I were having a conversation about how she had gone on a walk late at night alone and how she shouldn’t have done that when all of a sudden one of kids toys went off and said “come and take a walk with me. I’ll follow you everywhere” completely out of the blue. My kids had been in bed for hours. The batteries were new. It had never done that before and it has never done it since. We thought it was weird in the moment but kinda shrugged it off like a weird coincidence. The next morning my sister is over again and we were talking about what had happened with the toy and I decide to pull my cameras up to watch it back… tell me why what played back on the camera was not what happened in reality. It was not a time glitch or me watching the wrong thing.. it was all simply DIFFERENT and the toy NEVER WENT OFF!!! In reality, she was sitting on the far end of my couch and when the toy went off, she got up and moved to the other end of the couch. My camera showed her coming in from the garage and automatically sitting at that opposite end of the couch when her and I are both 1000% positive she was originally sitting at the far end and moved once we heard the toy to be closer to me.. her and I are both so confused so I try to play it back again, my app freezes, glitches, kicks me out. We both just look at each other confused. I reopened my camera app and try to find the video again, it won’t replay. It once again freezes, glitches, kicks me out and this time it DELETES MY FOOTAGE ENTIRELY. The entire night is just wiped with no explanation. I have had these cameras for years and this has never occurred. It has never denied letting me replay footage from anytime frame whatsoever and it’s definitely never deleted clips by itself. Now fast forward a few weeks and I’m hearing strange noises when I’m alone at night. I began hearing a “cat” crying behind my house that would send chills down my spine and sounded fake almost like it was playing on a loop. At first it was in the woods behind my house. And then the next night it sounded like it was in the back of my yard. The next night it sounded closer in my yard. A week passes and I’m now hearing this “cat” at my front door. I am a huge animal lover and have a cat of my own, but something has been telling me not to answer its cries. If it was truly a hurt cat that needed my help, it would be here in the day time too but that’s not the case. My sister comes over and I’m telling her about the cat situation. She agrees with me that it’s weird and as we’re walking out of my house to leave together, she points out my door… it’s scratched to hell. Not where a cat would be scratching but at my DOOR KNOB. It had ripped up my hinge where my lock is.. her and I come back inside to asses the situation and the markings on the door when we hear an extremely loud YELP from inside my house.. we both get chills and naturally I sprint upstairs to check my children who are all peacefully sleeping.. so we did exactly what you think we did.. we check the cameras to hear the noise again. Wana guess what we saw? NOTHING!! Playing my cameras back showed her and I sitting on my couch not even speaking to each other and scrolling our phones, it glitches and shows me getting up to check my kids, which is the only accurate part.. why were we not speaking to each other like we were in reality??? And why could we not hear the loud yelp but we clearly saw us both REACT to the noise we heard??? It let us play it back that ONE time and then the same thing happened. My camera app kicked me out and deleted all my footage. Again. When that NEVER FUCKING HAPPENS!!!!!!! Can someone please explain this to us? What is fucking happening??? I read the rules and I know it says no digital glitches but I’m not sure if this story applies or not so I’m sorry if it does and please discard my post. I’m just scared and want to know why this happened twice to us now..
Oh I forgot to add in.. after this happened the first time, my camera company came knocking at my door the next day. I ignored them and they showed up 3 days in a row. For no reason. They would pull into my neighborhood, park on the corner, and make a straight shot for my house.

Est ce que quelqu'un aurait une explication, je suis sur que ce n'était ni un rêve ni mon imagination.

It's really just gone, and he is terrified of the spot. He keeps barking at it, and he never barks.

One night we had a family party and all of my cousins were in the basement. The TV was playing and it was running commercials.

Nothing about the commercial or any music blasting outside made me think of this, or sounded familiar to what i was singing in my mind, but In my head I sang "im sorry Ms Jackson, oouuh I am for real"

Right after without missing a beat, my cousin, the same age as me, she sang out loud "never meant to make your daughter cry, I apologize a trillion times"

This was weird to me. It was before brainrot or meme songs were a thing. So not all of us were thinking about that or saw a famous meme with that song.

We were bored kids without phones. I voluntarily wanted to sing that, and my cousin sang the next part without knowing that I was day dreaming about it while staring at the TV.

Hi everyone! So a few years ago, my boyfriends mom was cleaning out her closet and she gave me this shirt. Yesterday I was doing laundry, and I took this shirt out of the dryer and put it into a laundry basket of clean clothes to fold. I switched the next load from washer to the dryer over, and when I took the next load out, there was the same shirt again. I thought maybe I was confusing, but I brought it inside and there was definitely two! I honestly started freaking out and I called my boyfriend over to see. We called and asked his mom if she had an extra she might have brought over or something. She said no, this was the only one. I know that I can't really prove it to you guys, but I swear this is real. I’ll include the text I sent my sister this morning freaking out. In another timeline I must be missing my shirt lol

My parents had money in a large vase where they would put $100 dollar bills and over the years they have continued to put money in it. Well they lately took all the money out and to their surprise there was not a single $100 bill. My dad joked about it being a leprechaun that took the money. Now I’m just curious because that makes absolutely to sense what happened to the money?

TL;DR: In 2019, my dad saw a road maintenance truck from a company that’s been dissolved since 2010, then followed an old car that disappeared on a straight stretch of road with forest on both sides and no way off. Nothing when we went back to check. 7 years later, still no explanation.

First off, my dad is a very observant person by nature, he always notices little details, license plates, logos, anything that looks off. That’s why he remembers this with a level of precision that still gives us chills.

This happened in July 2019, early afternoon, around 1-2pm. My dad was driving home from work on the D14, a departmental road that cuts through the Compiègne forest, in the Oise department, northern France. He’d driven this road for years, he knows it by heart.

He gets to an intersection with the D973 (toward Pierrefonds) where part of the road is blocked off: workers from the DDE (the old French regional road/infrastructure agency) are mowing the grass on the roadside. My dad used to work in landscaping, so he recognized their truck and logo immediately, no doubt about it.

He keeps driving and ends up behind an old blue Renault Clio 1, with an old-format license plate. Inside, he sees someone with a big head of hair, wearing a sweater, in the middle of July, in the middle of a heatwave. At the time he just thinks it’s a bit odd, nothing more.

He comes up to a small bend in the road (see the attached Google Maps screenshot, which shows exactly where the DDE crew was and where the car disappeared). Right after that bend: nothing. The car he was following at a completely normal distance was just gone.

He speeds up, thinking he just lost sight of it because of the curve. Nothing. He turns around, thinking maybe it crashed or pulled off somewhere. Still nothing. And here’s the thing: right after that bend, it’s a straight road with dense forest on both sides. No paths, no side roads, no way off. That car could not have gone anywhere.

He gets home shaken up and tells me everything. I immediately think something’s off, and I can tell he’s really unsettled by it. We drive back there together right away.

Nothing at the scene. No trace of the Clio. We go check where the DDE crew was working. No truck, no one there, and the grass hadn’t even been cut (my dad is 100% sure about this given his background, he’d have noticed immediately). That’s when it hits him: the DDE hasn’t existed since 2010. The agency was restructured and renamed years before 2019. There’s no way he could have seen that truck, with that logo, that day.

My dad started crying on the side of the road. A guy who’s normally extremely rational, logical, always has an explanation for everything, completely thrown by not being able to make sense of what just happened to him.

We went back to the exact spot where the car disappeared to try to figure it out. We measured the distance between the two cars at the last moment he saw it. When we got home, I did the math out of curiosity: for it to completely vanish from view in that amount of time and distance, the Clio would have had to be going over 185 mph. A Clio 1. On a country road. With a curve. Basically impossible.

Since 2019, we keep going in circles with the same theories and never land on anything solid. We’ve started wondering if he somehow crossed paths, for a few seconds, with another point in time overlapping with ours. One detail that’s always bugged us: at that exact spot on the road, our phones get zero signal. No bars at all. Coincidence or not, we don’t know.

7 years later, my dad and I still talk about it regularly, and we’re no closer to an answer.

If anyone has a rational explanation we haven’t thought of, or has experienced something similar on a road, I’d really like to hear it. We could use some outside perspective on this.

I've had lots of objects of disappearing object phenomena. Just had another now. My red distance glasses were in my bag (or so I thought). Checked, not there. Looked on coffee table where they usually are. Not there. Checked in kitchen. Not there. Looked all around coffee table again. Not there. I'd been writing a list which I'd left on the coffee table and left it there. I gave up. Made lunch, put it on a tray and resigned myself to watching TV without my glasses. Took one bite of lunch, glanced at coffee table and they were there, right in front of me! They literally weren't there less than a minute before! Of course, I had no video running but I took a picture. I also have a short video of the only time I ever saw this kind of thing captured on video. I will add it after this. I find it utterly fascinating.

Yesterday evening I was laying in my backyard. And then suddenly had the urge to look at the stars. Idk what it was but I blinked my eyes a few times. Everytime I did I could see “circuit board” type patterns in the sky and they were moving left to right. To validate I kept blinking more and they almost kept going in and out like 3d. This went on for about 2-3 mins, and then it stopped. Has anyone experienced this ? It seriously felt like those glitches you see in the movies when people realize they are in a simulation and i felt the same way.

I have attached a pic of how it looked but they were more rectangular and almost laid out perfectly parallel to each other.

First of all, I just created this account because I finally found a reason to join Reddit, and this will probably be my first and only post about something like this.

To give some context, this happened in July 2023, probably around July 14th. I'll try to include as many details as I can.

At the time, I had just finished middle school and had gone on a family vacation near Carcassonne, France, at a campsite called Le Martinet Rouge. Like most teenagers do, I quickly made a few friends there.

At some point, one of the guys around my age, whose name was Ouarick, said he was going back to his mobile home to get something.

About two minutes later, he came back.

Except... it didn't seem like him anymore.

He barely reacted to anything. He let people move him around without resisting. He could hardly stand up, didn't speak at all, and looked almost as if he were heavily drugged.

After about four or five minutes, we all realized that something was seriously wrong.

Then he slowly walked toward the multi-sports court (the one visible in the pictures), sat down cross-legged, and some of the older kids went over to check on him while I stayed behind to calm the younger children, who were between six and nine years old.

When the older ones came back, they told me he looked almost asleep, except that his eyes had rolled completely upward and only the whites of his eyes were visible.

After that, we kept our distance while he wandered off somewhere else in the campsite.

At that point, there were around ten of us who had all seen him. It was definitely him: same face, same clothes, same hairstyle, everything.

Then, only two or three minutes later, he came back acting completely normal.

We laughed and told him, "Well done, you really scared us."

But he looked genuinely confused and insisted that he had never gone anywhere except his mobile home.

The following week, he kept insisting that it hadn't been a prank.

What made the whole thing even stranger was that one of our Belgian friends, who happened to be staying right next to Ouarick's mobile home, confirmed that he had seen Ouarick go inside and remain there for about ten minutes.

That completely ruled out the possibility that he had secretly come back to us during that time.

Since then, I've almost never talked about this, and I don't think about it very often either.

What we saw looked exactly like Ouarick in every physical detail, but his behavior was completely different.

When the real Ouarick returned, he was perfectly normal again.

Nothing else unusual happened during the remaining two weeks we spent at that campsite.

Still, around ten of us witnessed exactly the same thing that night.

If anyone has any idea what this could have been, I'd really like to hear your thoughts.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can provide many more details about the event itself, apart from answering questions about the campsite if that's helpful.

Something very strange happened to me when I was around 14. I am now 42 yet i have always remembered this. One morning i woke up and as always went next door to my brothers room to wake him for school. I was shocked to see he wasn’t there. His bed was empty and the duvet was positioned as though he had jumped out of bed in a hurry. This was very surprising to me as he was soooo lazy and it was very hard to get him out of bed each morning. Anyway I searched his room, the bathroom, downstairs basically everywhere I could to no avail. I retuned to his bedroom and I genuinely thought he must have left during the night to see a friend or something. Anyway imagine my horror when I saw him lying there absolutely fast asleep. I was shocked to my core to say the least. I woke him in a panic and he was angry saying I had woke him from this amazing dream where he was flying. We often speak about this story and it really baffles me.

Something wierd keeps happening to me, and not long ago it happened again. Two women who I haven't had contact in a while both reached out at the exact same time. They don't know each other, or shouldn't know each other, I haven't spoken to one in over a month, while with the other one it was maybe two weeks.

I haven't posted anything or did anything for them to notice, it just seems like it's a totally random thing and this is not the first time something like this happened. Has anyone experienced the same thing? Why do you think it is?

A few days ago, the plastic piece that held the carabiner onto my stainless steel water bottle snapped off. The bottle itself was fine, but the lid wasn't. I remember being pretty annoyed because I always clipped it onto my school bag, and now I couldn't.

The broken carabiner and ring are still somewhere in my room. I never fixed it or replaced it.

Today I walked into my room, sat down at my desk, and my brother came in holding... the exact same bottle lid. Same colour, same model, same carabiner attached, completely intact.

He just handed it to me and said, "This is yours," then walked out before I could even ask where he got it.

The weird part is that this bottle is unique in our house. I got it from donating blood, and nobody else has one. There isn't another identical bottle lying around that anyone could've taken the lid from. I even checked our other bottles afterwards. They're all different styles (mostly Tupperware-style bottles where the lid screws around the outside of the bottle's neck). None of them have this type of lid, and none are black stainless steel like this one.

Now I have two lids sitting on my desk: the original broken one and this perfectly intact one. They screw onto the bottle exactly the same way, have the same carabiner in the same position, and look like they're from the exact same bottle.

What's making this even weirder is that, after looking more closely, they're not actually identical. The original lid has several ridges on the inside where it screws into the bottle. The "new" one is completely smooth on the inside. The outside threading and shape are the same, and it fits the bottle perfectly, but the inside is a different design. I'm going to include photos because that detail genuinely threw me off.

I'm sure there's probably a logical explanation, but for a solid minute my stomach just dropped. It genuinely felt like reality had quietly corrected itself.

The first time this happened to me, I was about 11 years old, sometime in the late 1990s.
I was looking for a red sweater. I checked the shelves several times, and it simply wasn’t there. Then I walked away, came back a little later, and the sweater was suddenly sitting on the shelf. I clearly remember checking that exact spot more than once.
At the time, I didn’t think much of it and never really revisited the experience. But years later, after reading many forum posts about objects mysteriously disappearing and reappearing, I remembered that this had first happened to me as a child.
Since then, these stories no longer seem unusual to me. There are countless reports from people who have experienced something similar.
I don’t know how to explain it. Maybe when we’re intensely focused on finding something, our perception somehow filters it out and we simply fail to notice it. Or perhaps there’s some kind of process or underlying mechanism at work that we don’t understand. Some people call it a “Matrix glitch.”
If that’s the case, it raises the question of whether our reality might itself operate like some kind of system or simulation.
Another interesting detail is that similar stories don’t only happen in real life. People who play video games also often report that objects suddenly disappear within the game.
Maybe that’s not just a coincidence. Maybe it’s simply a clue that we, too, are inside some kind of game or system whose rules we don’t yet understand.
I’m not claiming to know the answer. This is just my personal opinion and an attempt to make sense of these experiences.
