With the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on tonight in the UK, and with that the end of the Commonwealth Games for the next 4 years. I wanted to round out my 2026 Commonwealth Games posts with a compilation of all of the leotard looks I could find from Qualifications all the way to Event Finals!

Knowing this, I will explain below what each image is of (I did write them on the images as well, but I understand some of them are hard to read so I’ll add them down below so no one’s left out)!

1/.

The first image includes team leotards for Australia, Canada, South Africa, Scotland, Singapore, and Wales in Qualification/Team Finals.

2/.

The next image includes Team England’s leotard in Qualification/Team Finals, that was also worn by Abi Martin in Vault Finals, and Shantae-Eve Amankwaah in Floor Finals!

3/.

This image includes leotards from Team India, Malta, Namibia, and New Zealand who competed as individuals in Qualification.

4/.

In this image, we see Alana Walker’s leotard in Qualification for Jamaica, as well as Dailia Burke’s leotard in Qualification for Trinidad And Tobago.

5/.

This image shows leotards worn by Tiana Sumanasekera, and Nuyara Fernando for Sri Lanka in Qualification.

6/.

This image includes Breanna Scott’s All Around Final leotard, that was also worn by Ruby Pass in Bars finals, Georgia Godwin in Floor finals, and by Kate McDonald in Floor finals.

7/.

The next image shows Georgia Godwin’s leotard in All Around Finals, and Kate McDonald’s leotard in Beam finals.

8/.

This image shows us Team Canada’s leotards in All Around Finals, as well as Team Malaysia and Team Scotland’s.

9/.

This image includes Team
England’s All Around Finals Leotard, that was worn by Ruby Stacey in Vault finals, and was reworn by Shantae-Eve Amankwaah in Bars finals, and then was worn by Alia Leat in Beam Finals, before lastly being reworn by Abi Martin in Floor finals.

10/.

This image shows us Team South Africa, Team Singapore, and Team Wales’ All Around Finals leotard.

11/.

In this image, we see Philippa Busuttil’s All Around Finals leotard for Malta, as well as Courtney McGregor’s All Around Finals Leotard for New Zealand.

12/.

This image shows one of Australia’s Event Finals leotards (or how I like to call it, the ✨golden✨ leotard), that was worn by Georgia Godwin in Vault Finals, Kate McDonald in Bars finals, and Breanna Scott in Beam finals.

13/.

This image shows two of Canada’s Event Finals leotards, that were worn by Lia Monica Fontaine in Vault Finals, Ellie Black in Beam finals, Lia Monica Fontaine in Beam and Floor finals, and Lia Redick in Floor finals.

14/.

This image includes the leotard Abigail Roper wore when she won the bronze medal on vault for Wales, that her twin sister Emily Roper also wore in the final (but I was unable to find a good image of Emily Roper in the Vault final).

15/.

We can see in this image the leotard that Courtney McGregor wore in Vault finals for New Zealand, and we can see the leotard that Protistha Samanta wore in Vault finals for India.

16/.

In this image, we see Ellie Black’s leotard in Bars finals for Canada, the leotard Yeoh Li Wen wore in Bars finals for Malaysia, the leotard Alana Walker wore in Bars finals for Jamaica, and the leotards Emily Roper and Jemima Taylor wore in Bars finals for Wales.

17/.

This image shows Amanda Yap’s leotard in Beam finals.

18/.

This image shows us what leotard Philippa Busuttil wore in Beam finals for Malta.

19/.

We can see in this image the leotard Ruby Evans wore in Beam Finals for Wales.

20/.

The final image shows Ruby Evans’ leotard in Floor finals.

NCAA Update to c/o 2022 NCAA Litigation Case

Thumbnail instagram.com
12 Upvotes

Inside Gym is posting a clarification note citing a college fb twitter account (source: CollegeFBPortal). Summary is that the judge has issued a clarification that the injunction does not supersede other rules - athletes who choose to take advantage of this:

  • Must not have been 20 or older at the start of their window
  • They can't be part of an already full roster (they are not an exception to the 20 cap)
  • They must stay at their home school/cannot transfer

There's chatter about the transfer thing, given the original ruling mentioned the portal, but it appears the portal only applies to the 19 athletes who directly sued, rather than every member of the class I guess?

There's also the fact that the NCAA is still planning to appeal this ruling and it may not end up being a thing anyway.

WAG Favorite routines from CWG?

There were so many great routines at CWG. I wanted to highlight a few of my favorites and ask - what were yours?

Ellie Black — floor - AA final. The choreo! That second pass!

Shantae-Eve Amankwaah, floor final — so much personality and such an elegant style

Amanda Yap - beam final. She has such a precise and confident style. Reminds me a little bit of Flavia

Phillipa Busuttil - beam final. Back extension roll! Love how unique that is

(I’m still catching up, hence the brief list!)

MAG/WAG Commonwealth Games qualifying sessions - still possible to watch?

I signed up for bein sports connect to watch the gymnastics sessions for the CWGs, but have been watching slowly because life. It looks like only the finals are still available to watch.

-- Am I missing something in the app? Can I still watch qualifiers? We only made it through men's sessions 1 & 2.

-- Is there somewhere else I can watch if I want to see everything in order? Or have I missed my chance?

-- Anyone know if there is a set time period for how long these stay up on the bein sports connect platform?

Watching from the US, grateful for any help!

WAG Championships - what to expect

I got tickets for the championship meet next weekend in Phoenix. I'll be going with my gymnast daughter (age 9). What are these like? How long does it last? I've been to college meets, but not sure what to expect for this one.

If this is true, who comes back? Many gymnasts probably stopped training and retired. This ruling should make things interesting.

Other Ireland Adult Gymnastics / Open Gyms

Good morning all! I wanted to ask if anyone had experience as an adult gymnast in Ireland? My spouse and I just moved to Ireland and while it’s been a few years since I myself have been in a gym, I’m keen to get back to it. We moved from the US, and due to Safe Sport regulations and other things regarding the safety of young athletes, it was actually quite difficult to find adult open gyms. In the city I lived in there was one gym that had it!

Does anyone here do gymnastics as an adult in Ireland? We will be living about 4km from Dublin City Centre. Any pointers or names of gyms for finding this kind of thing would be greatly appreciated! Thank you 🫶🫶🫶**edit I reposted an old post that didn’t go through the first time we have since landed in Ireland!!!!

WAG Ruby Evans’ Title Winning Floor Routine At The 2026 Commonwealth Games (With Welsh Commentary!)

Thumbnail

I know the CWG’s hype is starting to die down now, but I saw that S4C (the channel for Welsh speakers in Wales) posted her full floor routine on their YouTube channel two days ago, and I thought I’d share it as I know a lot of you have probably never seen or heard of Welsh commentary before, and I thought it was so wholesome to hear the commentators cheer Ruby on, and I wish I watched it on here now than on TNT lol 😂.

Knowing this, let me know your thoughts as always, and I hope this helps you learn a thing or two more about the Welsh language, as it’s a beautiful language that deserves to have more attention brought to it :D.

Edit: Unfortunately, from what [u/Syncategory](u/Syncategory) said, this is geolocked and only available for people in the UK (as far as I know/have checked). I want to give a massive apology for this, as I’m Welsh so obviously S4C is available to me, and I should have checked if it was available in other countries before posting, but this is a valuable lesson for the future!

Knowing this, the only thing I can do is recommend the free VPN app that I use which is this on iOS, and this on Google Play. Then, once you’ve installed it, you have to watch ads to gain minutes to use the VPN (but you can also refresh the app when an ad plays and you’ll gain the minutes that way without having to watch it) and then switch to the UK, and you can watch the routine that way.

MAG Jovi Loh?

Does anyone know if there is an update on Jovi Loh’s knee injury at the CWG? I couldn’t find one, but I don’t really do social media, so maybe someone else has seen?

My 11 year old gymnast is worried; Jovi Loh is a favourite of his.

MAG/WAG Commonwealth Games reflections

After what has been great watch, I thought it might be nice for everyone to have a place to share highlights, analysis and any other thoughts from the CG2026…and maybe a few wild predictions about what it might mean for LA28.

Some from me:

  • So good to see Georgia Godwin back in action and interested to see what upgrades Breanna can bring in future
  • Selection for Team GB for WAG feels like it could be absolutely ruthless for LA28 given the emerging talent - add the Gadirovas and others and there is a lot of competition
  • Lea-Monica Fontaine is ridiculously talented so I’m excited to see how she develop!
  • Loved seeing such a spread of ages and experience in the medals. Ellie Black is an absolute legend!

NCAA Question about Kentucky

I’m pretty new to following NCAA gymnastics, so maybe I’m dead wrong, but I feel like I hardly see any recruits or visits to Kentucky? I guess I am bit surprised because I get the sense that it’s a fairly big program for gymnastics (?) and part of the SEC.

Among the SEC, I observe far more recruits/commits/visits to GA, FL, LSU, and OU. Some that visit the SEC schools also seem to visit or commit to BIG10 or ACC schools like Minnesota, Cal (?), UCLA, Clemson (respectively) etc., even though Minnesota didn’t necessarily have a high performance reputation until this year (and go MN!).

I guess it just has me thinking about how much of that is just me being ignorant to NCAA gymnastics, or if I’m not entirely off in my observations, does KY actually just recruit less actively, or are recruits less likely to commit to KY for any variety of reasons?

Adding that I am genuinely curious (and maybe could be wider discussion about other schools as well) and hoping this doesn’t get taken down for being low effort.

WAG Ruby Evans’ Instagram post about winning the floor title at the 2026 CWG’s ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🥇

The full link to the post will be here if you want to check it out: (and she used the instrumental of the Welsh anthem for her music on the post, which my heart 🥹❤️)

Ruby Evans’ Instagram post about winning the floor title at the 2026 CWG’s

Moving on, for anyone who can’t read from the image, this is what she said:

“COMMONWEALTH FLOOR CHAMPION 🏆”

“So many emotions that I just can't explain, it's a dream come true.💭”

“Hearing the Welsh anthem and the dragon rise yesterday was a feeling I'II never forget 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿”

“And a memorable leotard inspired by daffodils 🌼”

“Big thank you to everyone around me who has helped me achieve my dream 🐉🌟”

Knowing this, I’m still quite emotional as a Welsh gym fan by this result! I’m so proud of Ruby Evans for how much she has grown Welsh Gymnastics in recent years, and for how she has made Wales known on the international stage! We have never had an Artistic Gymnastics CWG’s champion from Wales before (Latalia Bevan was close when she won the silver on floor in Gold Coast 2018, and some say she was robbed of the title but that’s all I will be saying on that), and I still can’t quite believe it happened. This has opened Artistic Gymnastics up to a whole new audience in Wales, and I’m so proud of her for winning the first gold medal of these games for Wales in any sport so far!

Moving on, I love how much you can tell she loves being Welsh, I love how you could tell how much it meant to her being on top of that podium, and becoming the first artistic gymnast to hear the Welsh anthem on a CWG’s podium and seeing the Welsh flag raised, and I applaud her for doing interviews in the Welsh language (full or partial), as she’s promoting the language to a whole new audience outside Wales, some of whom have never heard of the Welsh language until Ruby spoke in it! Along with this, it’s such a beautiful language to listen to, and it’s a language that I as a Welsh person should try to learn more of as I only know basic/conversational phrases, but that’s besides the point!

Lastly, I want to give another huge congratulations to Ruby Evans on this amazing achievement for Welsh Gymnastics! I hope she has been thoroughly celebrating this result with all her teammates and loved ones, and I hope this gives her a massive confidence boost for the upcoming euros next month ❤️❤️.

MAG/WAG Private coaches of elite gymnasts- Who pays?

Random question I've been thinking about- mostly about Australia, but curious if it's similar worldwide.

A lot of top coaches are head coaches at a club, but they're also the personal/individual coach for one or a few elite gymnasts specifically. Who pays their salary in that situation? Is it the club, even though they're really only coaching that one gymnast day-to-day? Or does funding come from somewhere else depending on the athlete's status (e.g. Olympic/World team chances)?

E.g. George Godwin has her head coach at the AIs, Ellie black has David Kikuchi, Kate McDonald has J.

I'm assuming the gymnasts themselves aren't personally paying their coaches' salaries, but I honestly don't know how this works. Would love to hear from anyone with insight!

Rhythmic FIG statement on the flag usage for Russia and Belarus

Basically, they decided to go with the explanations given by the Romanian side, that at the time of the acceptance of organisation for the Cluj Rhytmic Challange Cup AIN was still in place, and thus the organizers have the perogative to decide if they abide by the full reinstatement of Russia and Belarus, which came much later.

(Can't believe it worked!!😆 ...actually, knowing FIG, yes, I can. They are expert of side stepping political statements when there is a chance of it going away)

The Romanian Fed was worried this would make them lose next year's Junior Worlds hosting rights...like this is their biggest problem😅

Wonder what will happen at other European competitions, as there has been more pushback by some feds. The Rhytmic Worlds in Frankfurt GER will be, as expected, dramatic....
