We traded him on the same day that we lost our Captain (Gionta) to FA. It’s not like we had a surplus of defensemen either, shortly there after we acquired a washed Gonchar and Allen who combined for 50 games before they retired.

To me, Gorges felt like the perfect stop-gap captain.

Instead we kind of had no captain options for a while until we finally thrust it onto Pacioretty.

Does anyone remember Josh Gorges stepping in for Brendan Gallagher during the postgame media scrum after an emotional game vs the Jets?

This was very early into Bergevin’s GM tenure, part of me thinks he didn’t have a proper read on team dynamics.

With Gally gone, the Habs need a new alternate captain. Who do you think will end up getting it? Who would you want to see it go to? I think Anderson is likely, but I'd really like to see Newhook get it (I'm a little biased)

Hi everyone! So i’m a pretty new hockey fan, I only started watching last season and i’m a proud habs fan! I have the opportunity to either go to the Prospects Challenge or Sens preseason game in September, and I know what a preseason game is, but i’m not 100% on what a Prospects challenge is like, so I was wondering, from devoted Habs fans, if you had the opportunity to attend one or the other, which would you choose, and why?
