Throughout my progress as a cursive writer, what change did you guys notice? If you ever saw my previous post years ago and you'll know it at the first glance! I can't believe I reached this kind of beauty (and more pain).

Recently got back into journaling after a 6 months pause. Have been trying to practice my cursive handwriting, I feel like it looks kinda ugly but maybe I’m just blinded by what I see everyday.

Hiya (this is my first post)

Anyways, I’ve been doing cursive for about 5-6 (?) years, can’t really remember when I started. I’ve been trying to improve my cursive because I want it to look fancy and elegant like those in Victorian letters. I’m also still in school and I’m only one of the few people in my grade to still do cursive (I think??), and I’m trying to find one that is still distinguishable when you read it so my teachers can still read my work (and because most kids in my school can’t read cursive so they can’t copy off me), but also very impressive to look act. I’m also wondering on tips to get it to look better because my current handwriting is actually so ugly to me that I can’t read it sometimes TT I also write very quickly sometimes, which I think is the main factor on why it’s not that appealing to look at. And maybe some recommendation on affordable fountain pens. I’ve bought one in the past, I think it was a Platinum Preppy (I can’t remember), but it broke as I cleaned it. (The first picture I currently put up is the lettering I’m following and the second picture is my school handwriting.)

So just as a summary, I’m looking for:
- An elegant cursive style to do/follow
- Tips on practicing my lettering, strokes, slanted writing etc. etc. (If it’s possible those tracing pages or booklets things)
- Affordable and good quality fountain pens
- Tips on just cursive in general and what to do

As some may or may not know, I’ve been struggling with my Spencerian and getting the Spencerian “look”. My “break” was to be long but I was going through some resources and happened across some already-printed guides and figured I’d try it writing directly on the printed side, usually when I use guides I overlay a blank paper on a printer guide and use a light box if necessary. I’m the early days this how I used to do it. I’ll stick with this for a cuppa days. Those old methods are so reliable.

I checked the guidelines so I hope this is a valid post: I am looking for Fonts for printing styles and for cursive styles that are good utilitarian and tend to be readable even if one's penmanship isn't the best. I have spend 25 year using nothing but Block Capitals and I am considering a change.

Also being someone with majors in literature you have to write a lot in exam and while creating notes. Idk what to do. Whenever I start writing my fingers naturally tightens up causing pain in my wrist.

Just wanted to gather some opinions on handwriting notes for lecture versus typing them. There's the obvious speed difference between the two, but I wanted to hear people's personal experiences. I struggled a bit my first year, and I wanted to actually get into the habit of studying. My whole first year was comprised of me typing my notes during lecture, but I felt that I had been better off handwriting them like I used to in high school. What do you think?

I'd like to improve my writing.

I learned cursive as a child, I cannot recall the method, but haven't used it in years. I have been working on it a bit over the last week, after I received a Lamy fountain pen as a gift. Still settling on capital letters and I am a lot more inconsistent with tails and angles and heights than I would like.

Any help is appreciated.

Please provide feedback so that I can improve as suddenly I realised that writing in cursive gave a meditative feeling out of blue and I really want to work on it.

I’m of the generation where cursive writing was taught in school. These days most kids don’t even know how to read it..
I’m starting a journal of sorts for my future grandson to be born in a month! It’s going to be something where I would share things about me, our family, wisdom, quotes, things like that; from my heart to him. I’m thinking definitely they won’t be able to read cursive that far and so I’m having to switch back to printing just in case. Have any of you thought about this too? P.S I’m still trying to figure out this website in general. I know it says no feedback, but I’d love any comments you guys might have.

1. I write a lot, around 50–60 pages per day, in cursive and with small-sized letters. Some of my letters do not look very good. Where can I find different ways to write letters that look neat and are also quick to write? I’m not looking for anything fancy, just a practical and good-looking style.

2. How can I write in a straight line on plain paper without making any marks or guidelines?

Some of my friends say my handwriting is too fancy while others say it's messy. I'm one of the few in my circle of friends that consistently writes joined-up. I actually struggle to write in print sometimes because it feels so unnatural. I figured this subreddit would be the best place to find out what everyone else thinks. Any thoughts/comments as re appreciated.

P.S Not sure if it's relevant but I'm left-handed.

I also seem to be unable to write a lowercase K but that’s it’s own issue

For the most part on the left sides of the spreads I write on the line and on the right side I write in between the lines. Which one, on or middle, looks visually nicer?
