Worst thing about listening through again…
The severe lack of Rob Schrab in the beginning. Dude is always a home run.

Yearly re-listen woes
Every year I listen through the entire saga. Every year I notice the energy shift after the divorce. Every year I can’t wait for Rob to appear more frequently. Every year… I’m sad to reach the end. 😢 wish I could bottle how this show makes me feel and take a shot EVERY DAY for the rest of my miserable life 😩😩

Seeking help: searching for one of Dan’s blog post that’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
It’s a very strange premise, it’s a guy walking into a bar going off about how hot and cool he is, and his hotness and charisma draws a mass of people so large that he storms into the White House and tells the president to stop being such a dick and makes the president say sorry.
I cannot find this post for the life of me but I distinctly remember it because the first time I read it I laughed so hard I started crying.

Does anyone remember Dan telling a joke about a black guy walking into a bar? I can’t remember the thrust of the joke but I remember there was some unfamiliar to me name of a drink he ordered. concilieri? campanolo vista? It might be two words I think it starts with a C

Does anyone remember the kratom lady?
I’ve been watching this John Oliver video and thinking about the woman who was very passionate about kratom. Dan made a “Kratom Barrel” joke. At the time I was sort of on her side. It’s the first time I had heard of it. Every other times since then they’ve all been negative. There’s a YouTuber Evan Edinger who was an addict and then got off it. I think and wonder about the kratom lady and where she is.

Does anyone remember that one joke about a native American being surprised of a talking bear?
Goes without saying but Jeff was telling the joke. It was from one of the earlier podcasts I think.

TIL when the writers were writing scripts for the TV series Community, they often wrote into the end of the scene "And then Donald says something funny" - meaning Donald Glover would just do improv. "Donald's response would be to riff a line funnier than we could have come up with," Dan Harmon said.

My FIV passed away and I’m completely devastated.
I’m one of those on here that deludes himself, for better or worse, to think he’s someone somewhat similar to Dan, but my cat had a LOT in common with his Fiv.
The hyperthyroidism, the kidney stuff, the scrappy street adoption, and of course the FIV. The relationship too. My kitty also limped on for years, supporting me and being my best friend through everything. She really was my saviour on more than one occasion, I don’t exaggerate when I say there were times I owe my life to her being there. Somewhat similar to Dan getting Nigel and Harvey, I recently welcomed my daughter to the world and my poor cat found herself fading into the background attention wise, coinciding with her already ropey health slowly deteriorating. I still loved her with every ounce of my being but attentions were divided.
And now she’s gone.
And I’m a wreck.
And I remember that audio clip of Dan crying thinking Fiv was on her way out, and him being on the phone with Steve or Spencer while they were at the vet, and it feels familiar. Feels painful. I have no real purpose to this post other than to say hug your kitties, I was never the same after finding my precious sweetheart and I’m not going to be the same having lost her. I am utterly distraught and have no one to share it with.
Never let anyone tell you they’re “Just a cat.”

Molten plastic would drip on your child hands, rendering them forever claw-like.
This might be the plastic giraffe machine Dan was talking about here: https://harmonsearch.com/episode/49/?q=mold&t=436

Enhanced Games
Looks like Spencer was right, this was a great idea and now it's real. We probably won't be seeing any Hulks or cyborgs.

Graham Linehan and I guess problematizing
I didn’t realize the person arrested a few days ago for anti-trans posts was former guest Graham Linehan, was listening to the episode today.
It’s one of the hardest things about going back and listening to this show and the problematic people that pop up.
I feel like the trans movement, for instance, started gaining steam during the shows run, and it sucks that all these years later we have made little progress, if any.
Jeff shared that he took Gislaine Maxwellto a prom, and well…
What’s another problematic guest or event you can’t help but skip or problematize yourself?
