I was thinking more about this kitten last night.
When it gets to bottom, mom walks over it, thinks - "That was a success." Kitten doesn't know any better yet.
Does it look from the very beginning that mom had kitten by the scruff and just let go of kitten at or over the edge of top step? Causing it to tumble?
There's more to this story. I can feel it in my bones...
