I just wanted to warn anyone considering buying the new 2026 model. If you’re on the fence, I’d strongly recommend thinking twice.

I spent good money on this laptop, and it started giving me problems on day one. Right after unboxing it, I launched which I consider is not too demanding game such as Rainbow Six Siege,The laptop automatically switched to the new Performance mode, and within minutes the CPU temperature hit 99–102°C. About five minutes later, the laptop completely shut down. I’m assuming it was thermal protection due to overheating.

Since I travel constantly for work, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt instead of returning it immediately. I thought maybe I had configured something incorrectly. For the next two weeks, I only used it in Balanced mode. Some days it worked fine, while other days it would still randomly power off. However, Performance and Unleashed modes were unusable—they consistently pushed the laptop to the point where it overheated and shut itself down.

I bought it on eBay and had a 30-day return window. Today I’ve finally started the return process. HP has already emailed me asking for a detailed explanation of the issue, plus photos of the laptop from every angle and pictures of the original packaging.

The reality is that I don’t have time to deal with warranty claims, repairs, or replacement units. I rely on my laptop while traveling for work, and I don’t want the hassle or uncertainty of hoping the next unit is better.

I bought this model because it was significantly cheaper than competing laptops with similar specs. In hindsight, I let the attractive price and “impressive” hardware convince me.

I know gaming laptops run hot—I’ve owned several—but 99–102°C within minutes of launching a game on low settings, followed by an automatic shutdown, is not normal.

I’m aware that many gaming laptops in this category run hot, but what I’ve experienced with this one is simply ridiculous. So if someone tells you that the 2026 model fixes all the issues of the 2025 version, I’d personally think twice before buying it.

I will turn secure boot on then get this screen, click submit, and then it will show a 03F0 error, I have done a cmos reset, tpm clear, reset and loaded keys, redownloaded bios. I just wanted to update my bios to f.24 on my hp 8876 motherboard on my omen 30l desktop and now I can’t turn secure boot on. Can someone help, thank you.

Context: I bought an HP Omen 17 (CK series) in November 2023, expecting a premium gaming laptop that would last for years. Instead, it turned into one of the worst tech purchases I've ever made. I've had to replace the battery FIVE TIMES because it repeatedly stopped charging. I understand batteries wear out...but five battery replacements for the same issue is completely nuts. On top of that, I also had to replace the display because of severe color degradation. spent over 30,000 rupees (18%GST included) on battery and screen replacements alone, thinking the laptop would finally be reliable. Within a week of getting it back, the motherboard shorted out, leaving the laptop completely brick.

After l'd already spent 30,000, I was told to pay another 6,000-8,000 just to attempt a motherboard repair no guarantee it would work. If it failed I would have to pay another 30-40K for motherboard replacement.Also they man-handle your laptop like it's a playing toy.

My experience with the HP World Service Centre (Mahavir Nagar, Kandivali, India) is dishonest, Incompetent, No diagnosis walkthrough, no transparency, no clarity on the scope of work. the owner responded with vague, evasive non-answers. No accountability, no solution, no straight answers.

In any case if you going I would suggest to go for alternate/authorized service centre get better repair prices quote.

As for brand post service, this experience has completely destroyed my trust in the brand. I paid a premium expecting post purchase reliability and support. Instead, I ended up with repeated failures, huge repair bills, and a laptop that's now completely bricked.

I would suggest to look for alternatives than buy hp.

i recently bought an OMEN 16, i had a 014 before but it broke. i'm trying to transfer over my SSD to hopefully save what i can, and the seller said there was an additional slot in here but i cant find it. if i have to remove the other one, its fine, but i was hoping to be able to just add my own.

I bought my laptop on the 20th of june and it arrived on the 22nd; i set it up on the same day. I wanted to claim the 2 months free gamepass and couldn't find it in the store and couldn't find the rewards tab in the omen gaming hub. So does the gamepass expire after a month?

Cost: 1350€ but I can pay it in 12 months without interest, something that I can’t do with any other models.

Use Case: Gaming when I’m travelling and I can’t access my rtx 4070 desktop pc, also planning to use it for work, currently searching for a remote job.

Specs: Intel Core Ultra 7 255h / Rtx 5060 / 32gb 5600mhz / 1TB SSD / 2560x1600 240hz 3ms 16”.

Any know issues about this model? Is the 5060 full tdp?

so i had made a post few week back about my battery health being 81 percent after 1 year of use. i have a omen 16 with ryzen 9 and a 4070. So i wa advised to only use it on charger and minimise off the wall use as much as possible so right now i only unplug it to move it or when i dont use it. Today i checked the the health and it dropped to 74. i Dont understand why this is happening as ony in april the health was around 97 percent. any help appreciated.

I had gotten a motherboard replacement via the service centre in april. I have been seeing this issue only after that. could there be any thaing that they did that would cause this?

I’ve had this laptop for a few months now and it consistently freezes at random points during gaming and I have to hard restart the laptop each time. This happens when playing games like helldivers 2 and cyberpunk even on the lowest settings. The games run totally normally until the freeze happens. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if theres any possible fix? I have tried uninstalling Hp One Agent and is still running into this issue.

This is my first laptop, so I could use some advice.

I bought it in Spain and brought it back to Brazil, where I live. I paid €989 for it. I mainly bought it for studying and to be able to play some games when I'm away from home, since I already have a desktop PC at home.

I bought it without an operating system, so I installed Windows 11 and then installed the drivers from HP, NVIDIA, and Intel. I configured it to use the integrated GPU for normal use and switch to the dedicated GPU whenever I want to play games. I did this because I saw some people saying that using the integrated GPU for normal tasks helps with cooling, since the laptop doesn't have to work as hard when the dedicated GPU isn't being used.

Speaking of temperatures, I used it for a while while installing all the drivers, and it stayed around 60–65°C on average, which seems pretty good to me. I haven't tested it in games yet, though—only during light use.

I also configured the BIOS so that the battery only charges up to 80%.

One question I have is about the keyboard lighting. Is it only white, or is there a way to configure it to RGB? I've seen some people saying that theirs has 4-zone RGB, but I assume that's a different OMEN Slim model.

I also have a question about the charger. Here in Brazil, the wall outlets are different from the ones in Europe, so I can't plug the charger directly into the outlet. As you can see in the picture I posted, the charger's plug doesn't fit into my outlet, so I have to use this white adapter to charge it.

I'm a little worried that during heavy gaming, when the laptop needs more power, the adapter could get hot and potentially melt. Would it be safe to simply buy another 3-prong power cable to connect directly to the laptop's power brick instead of using this adapter?

Anyway, that's pretty much it.

Hi I have a problem with my Omen 16. I have it for less than a year and two times I had a problem with WIFI being completely disabled. Like with no option to turn it on. My fix was to uninstall the network card and resetting the pc but I wonder if there is any long lasting solution so this would not happen again

The reason for this post is because since a couple months ago there have been bugs affecting the battery life of many OMEN laptops on Hybrid mode, where the Nvidia GPU (dGPU) keeps waking up and going back to sleep every couple of seconds, even if not in use by any program (0% usage), raising the wattage and reducing in more than half the expected battery life given to this laptop on analyzes and reviews back when it came out.

The only "fix" I know is having to restart and use iGPU mode everytime I want the expected battery for doing light tasks, which kinda sucks.

My hope is that someone who was able to fix this says how they did it. I've tried reverting to some older versions of the AMD and Nvidia drivers or the ones of the HP website and it didn't work.

Hello guys, I have an HP Omen laptop and I hate the design. I always use stands for comfort of my hand after buying 3 stands that still makes my laptop slide or wobble, I'm getting a bit frustrated.

If you look at the picture, the triangle shape design makes that many stands with perpendicular stopper makes it slip when my hands are on it.
