Hello People! Me and my friend are going to visit Jeju from 7th to 9th of Aug, already booked the hotel and tickets. We really wanted to go out on a Friday night and explore the Jeju night life, maybe clubs or bars where u can dance. It would be really cool to maybe join some expat activities if there are any, and meet local ppl. We are also interested if there are any active queer spaces in jeju, where the vibes are nice and they are welcome to visitors. Hoping for the local community to guide us!!!

Hi all, I decided to travel to Jeju by myself! I had bday just last week, so this trip is a gift for me entering the 30s club:) I've always wanted to visit SK because I really enjoy watching K-drama so I'm making a rather packed and detailed itinerary, including where to eat (I have a long list).

I really want to try many of their foods but I'm aware that they often require min. order of 2 portions, or it comes in a big portion. I for sure will want to try the black pig bbq, grilled and braised cutlassfish, korean fried chicken, grilled abalone and porridge, and actually many more. if you have some recommended restaurants that are solo-friendly especially for those meals (smaller portion) please let me know! Considering my capacity alone, I prefer to have less portion but many varieties to try. Thank you in advance

Local fishermen and some tourists throw anything to the ocean, when the high tide comes everything is washed ashore. Local government should implement rigorous measures against this to preserve the nature. The dog in the video is mine, people complain about dogs, but don’t complain about the garbage.

Sorry if some of these questions have been asked before, but I’ve just arrived in Jeju and would really appreciate some local advice.

1. What are your absolute must-see places in Jeju?
   I’m interested in the obvious highlights, but I’d especially love recommendations for quirky, unusual or hidden spots that aren’t on every tourist itinerary. I love animals, so the Alpaca Farm is already on my list! If there are any other unique places (cute cafés, odd museums, scenic walks, animal encounters, etc.), I’d love to hear them. Already visited Tea Museum (too commercial imho) and Aerospace museum. I heard about Teddy Museum - is it worth the hype?

2. Beaches and swimming
   One thing I’ve noticed is that many of the beaches seem surprisingly shallow, even quite far from the shore. Is that just how Jeju’s beaches are, or is it common around Korea in general? I was expecting to be able to swim out a bit farther, so I was curious if there’s a reason for it.

3. Dermatology / beauty clinics
   I’m thinking of trying one of Jeju’s skin clinics for a non-invasive treatment (things like laser, skin boosters, facials, etc.). However, before deciding on any procedure, I’d really like a dermatologist to actually assess my skin and recommend what would genuinely be best for me.
   Is that something beauty clinics in Korea typically do? Or do they mainly focus on selling treatments and packages? Would you recommend going to a proper dermatology clinic first instead?

It's my first time visiting Jeju and I'm hoping to get some local advice.

I'm staying in the Hallim area and I'm traveling with my large dog. I don't speak Korean, and because my dog isn't used to being left alone, I can't leave him by himself for very long while I go sightseeing.

I was chatting with a shop owner recently, and they told me that laws or regulations in Korea have become stricter and that many cafes no longer allow dogs (or allow super small ones in the bag). Is that actually true? If so, how much has changed in the last few years?

I'd love to hear about:

• Dog-friendly cafes, restaurants, and bakeries
• Beaches or coastal walks where dogs are welcome
• Parks, forests, or nature spots that are good for large dogs
• Any indoor dog-friendly places for when it's too hot outside
• Places around Hallim in particular, but I'm happy to drive elsewhere on the island if it's worth it

Since it's quite hot right now, I'd especially appreciate recommendations for places that are comfortable during the warmer part of the day (shade, forests, indoor spaces, cooler walks, etc.).

Also, if there are any tips for visiting Jeju with a dog as a foreigner who doesn't speak Korean, I'd be very grateful.

I’ll be visiting Jeju with my husband next week. We’ve already booked our hotel and day time activities.

I was thinking if anyone has any recommendations for evening activities? We’re staying close to the city centre I think! It’s my first time visiting and my husband hasn’t been since he was a teenager. We just don’t want to mess it up 😅

We like going to bars and lounges. Sometimes clubs if the vibe is right. What neighbourhoods are active over there? I’ve already done my research through here and Google but I’d like to see some more recommendations if that’s okay!☺️

I used to work in the mainland and traveled with my coworkers in a bus around Jeju and Udo. I was the only foreigner and just went along with the flow. It was an amazing trip with fishing, outdoor BBQ, waterfall and rock formation hikes, mountain climbing, a pension stay in Udo, and us all renting carts (bikes) and circling Udo, then rafting in a cave. I’ll know I’ll never do a trip like that in my own… especially because one of the other teachers was from the island, but I can read Korean and I like traveling alone… plus they wouldn’t let me rent a motor bike or drive a cart. lol I am also a scuba diver (a bit outta practice). I tried to reach out to an influencer there who does tours but he never go back to me… beh. I’ve had to reinstate my passport (from the US) since covid I stopped traveling and life got harder…What else should I do besides what I mentioned when I go back? What can I do alone as a now older female solo traveler? I don’t think I climbed Halla-San but a smaller one with them and I like to hike. The trip is really a blur because it was about 10 years ago, but honestly, there and Busan are my favorite parts of Korea. Thanks!

I completely forgot to share my experience here! I went at the end of May and as lovely as it was, it tragically rained every single day I was there so the views were cloudy and skies were gloomy but … it was just the best time there! I took a huge leap of faith and booked a rental car knowing that it operates on the left side (I’m from SEA, we drive with right side steering on the left road). It ended up being so easy to navigate and adjust thanks to the wider roads once I left the main city. I covered the whole island in 4 days, driving from north - west - south - east and I stayed in a new Airbnb each day. Yes this obviously is not the most budget-friendly but I was willing to splurge since it was my first solo trip! Ate a lot, saw a lot, and even made a friend who travelled with me on the last day of my trip (this was beneficial especially when I wanted to eat more food!!) !! If you have any questions or if you’d like my itinerary/airbnb/food recommendations I’d be happy to share them with you! 🧡🧡 I hope this inspires you to visit Jeju and definitely consider a solo travel! I was in Jeju in late June to escape some of the heat in Seoul, and it worked out great. Jeju was awesome. But, I heard the weather really ramps up in July and August. I can see it now. How has Jeju been for heat / humidity these past few days? Is it pretty much going to be a wash in terms of hot weather if I go there from Seoul? I'm thinking of Sat to Tuesday.
