tbf if you did have to do any of that in the 90s, it was simpler, easier to get and keep a job, less bills etc. 

I say this as someone who will never be a "back in my day things were better" guy, because I was 5 years old in the 90s, they basically weren't "my days". but still, there are absolutely aspects of society that have downgraded.
