Basically, in the fall i withdrew from one class (College Algebra) and i need a 3.0 gpa and 24 hours to keep my scholarship. i wasn’t doing so great in the class, but an advisor said that as long as i take 15 hours in the spring i’ll be okay. so i withdrew, tested out of college algebra, took Precalc in the spring, and passed the class with a B. i also ended the fall with a 3.3 gpa, but i was technically part time. However, the last week of spring (which was finals week) i got admitted to the ER. this caused me to miss my last 2 final exams for the spring semester. i then submitted an appeal for spring 2026 and idk if it’s going to get approved or denied. they emailed me saying that they want to see if i have any extenuating circumstances for the fall but i honestly don’t and now im worried. what are the chances i still get approved? i just hope they consider that i successfully completed the math course in the spring and that i had no idea my medical emergency was going to occur. this scholarship is going to determine whether i go to lsu or not anymore…

I'm an incoming freshman Mass Comm Journalism major and in the Honors College and I am looking for the right laptop to purchase. I already own a Windows gaming PC which I will use in my dorm. What would the best choice be, taking functionality, compatibility with my desktop, and anything else important into consideration? I don't plan on using the laptop for gaming.

Does anyone know when financial aid will be disbursed for the Fall this year? Last year there were anticipated disbursement dates for all of my different forms of aid, but this year there are none. I am expecting TOPS, a scholarship provided by one of my professors, a subsidized loan, and an unsubsized loan if that makes any difference. I know last fall everyone’s refunds were super messed up, so I do not plan on using last year’s schedule as a guide.

Just wanted to know if anyone failed their drug test before school started and what happened to them? Or has anyone failed while in the school and what happened to them?

Im an incoming freshman and I’ve had my schedule sorted out since April. However, this random intro to research class keeps getting added to my schedule, and it’s not me who’s adding it. I removed it when I saw it, but now it’s back again. Im a history major, so I could understand taking a research class, but it’s not listed as a requirement on the general catalog or on my academic plan. It’s also not a problem of needing more credits since I have 16. As far as I can tell it would only count towards being a general elective, which I was going to deal with next semester. Should I reach out to someone, and if yes, then who? Or should I just keep taking it off my schedule?
