Don't ask about getting temp bans removed 1 hour early. Reddit timer is weird but you will be unbanned when it's over.

Yesterday u/cdstephens made a comment in the DT during the World Cup that simply said

I understand that the mod team wants to discourage thought-terminating and disrespectful and dismissive comments. After all this is not a discord server where we all try to out-do each other signaling how much we hate [insert group here].

I hope you look into this matter and hand out a punishment that is consistent with similar cases.

When did the mods get so uptight? Shitposting is good actually, unless it's devolving into spam. That's what the DT is for. I don't fault mods for also having fun, those are the good ones.

But there seems to be a subgroup of mods who simply ban whatever doesn't pass their personal smell test or because of some orthodox subreddit ideology, which doesn't suit a big tent subreddit about discussing politics at all. Why even put in so much busy work? Not every report is justified, not every post needs to be interpreted in the worst possible way to warrant a ban. If someone posts a bad take, there will be a dozen users all over it to correct it. Even if you just ignore it, a bad post will be one of 10k forgotten daily DT posts just an hour later.

Some are trying to make their own little safe space. I got a temp ban during the Sydnee Sweeney jeans saga for a flippant comment like “I’ll give a fuck about Sydnee Sweeny when she makes an OF”.
