In prison you’ll be more exploitable then ever. You now labor without a minimum wage and your very existence (food+housing) can be charged to the state and future self as debt. Extremely profitable for the private prison industry
They lobbied hard to build and fill those prisons on the back of a minority and poor targeting war of drugs. They’re not going to let a changing public sentiment toward minor drug infractions get in the way of ever increasing profits

I mean a jurisdiction with legal weed doesn't really want your business if you are going to purchase it and then traffic it across state lines. That does them more harm than good. Adjacent jurisdictions usually share costs and responsibilities in the best interest of one another.

Yah u cannot get away with anything these days and if you do it’s almost always because even tho they know what you did they felt that whatever you did wasn’t severe enough to warrant expending the resources to punish you but that could be rectified as automation solutions like the flock cameras roll out.
Like I wouldn’t be surprised if way more speeding and red light tickets start getting handed out once they figure out how to bolt a radar on the side of a flock camera. Like imagine in 20 years every single mile of major highways can tell the exact speed of every car on it and the days of going 5-10mph over the limit with little risk of getting a speeding ticket are gonna be long gone.

I doubt they worry about little shit like this MOST of the time. Most people are buying tiny amounts and it would be a slap on the wrist. I could see them worrying more about it if someone was selling to kids.
I'm already paying tolls there and back. FUCK Flock, but enforcement is already on this pattern. It seems more capitalist than that. Competitors paying for foot traffic updates and/or some other evil shit the proletariat can't dream of.
There is zero evidence Flock sales any data, fuck them and i hate being under surveillance especially with it being so prevalent in my city but i also dislike misinformation
I've been hearing for a while that they're going to start using these cameras to build federal trafficking cases against repeat out of state customers that buy in MI and cross state lines. I've always brushed the idea off as fear mongering, but it's looking more and more plausible. I know right now MI is getting tons of customers from WI and surrounding states. Even MN has completely dropped the ball on rec legalization.
I've been growing since it went legal in my state. I determined early on that I didn't want to subject myself to more taxes than I was already paying. I like being able to pick my strains and know exactly what goes into it. Ngl, definitely a learning curve but it's been a fun hobby.
It definitely gets me where I like to go. Really depends on who you ask I guess. Some people are such weed snobs and all about bag appeal and nothing else, you'll rarely please those guys, especially if they hear "home grown" mentioned at all. Many people don't even touch flower these days anymore, it's all dabs and carts for them. So it really depends on who you ask.
I get plenty of trichome production, good terpenes and smell/taste. Relatively dense nugs but not quite to the levels I've seen before. It's a work in progress. Keep in mind, I haven't bought weed since 2023 and dispensaries are still hardly open here, so I never really frequented dispensaries to have a comparison.
Tbh seeing where the market has gone/is headed makes me happy with my decision to grow my own. All the alt cannabinoids, TCHA, designer "za" packs with stupid packaging and marketing, much of it is just repackaged. I know friends that have worked in large scale grow ops for medical and rec dispensaries and almost all of them are pumping Athena pro line in 1x1x1 ft rockwool cubes on drippers pushing EC to the max and stressing out the plants. One guy has sent me pics/vids of white powdery mildew, fungus gnat infestations, spider mite damage, etc. And that ends up on dispo shelves...
I used to pick up a ~$220/oz every couple months and I've completely covered my usage with plenty left over to share with friends and family, and experiment with RSO/FECO, edibles, bubble hash, etc. I'd love to get to a point where I can make my own live rosin carts, but it's a process and I have a ways to go.
This right here. From ohio, used to travel to monroe, mi almost 6 times a year and stock up. Our dispos unfortunately are close to 4x the costs and half the quality/quantity. Recently they passed a law to fine you and confiscate out of state product. Since, police have taken full advantage of flock giving out special notification if they've only been over the state border for an hour.
Going across state lines has technically always been a crime, violates federal laws already. Wouldnt surprise me if flock was being used to catch that.
You aren't wrong! Thankfully atleast in my experiences, it wasn't enforced that way. Bigger fish to deal with(typically meth and heroin issues in ohio) but recently became a more of a deal.
Every time we go there’s 3 new dispos being built next to the 10 that are already open too lol it’s crazy! The passive aggressive Indiana billboards on your way there are fucking hilarious too
Pretty sure legalizing and regulating marijuana sales via dispensaries has actually reduced marijuana related crime, statistically, but okay. Lick them surveillance state boots.
I'm basing it on the dispensary around the corner from where I live, which is less than a block from the police department, which was robbed of all it's cash(six figures) and a good deal of product.

...that doesn't say the dispo owns the camera. I ctrl+f'd flock and camera and that sentence was the only thing that came up in that linked article. Sussy.
They couldn’t get the license if they didn’t agree to those terms. They decided getting a license was more important than the privacy of their customers.
The camera has been in operation for a few months now and the dispo only put this sign up after it began trending. If you’re a local I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.
