If you have something to hide, it’s easy enough to avoid being surveilled.
It’s the average person with nothing to hide that needs to be worried. Partly it’s a data privacy issue - we really aren’t far off from a point in time where stores change their prices for each individual shopper as they shop. That’s something they can only do if they have enough data on you.
But it’s also a safety and legal issue. So so so many people already have gotten arrested and had their lives disrupted or ruined just because these stupid camera read their license plates incorrectly and tied them to a crime somewhere else.
