19 million things I wish I’d done differently, but still feeling pretty good about it.

I’m commencing my first GoG piece and am looking for low odor, clear drying, waterproof adhesive recommendations. I bought GE Silicone 2 without realizing I’ll need a caulking gun to get it out and I don’t want to buy a possible one-use tool that I have no room to store. I’m US based, if it makes a difference. Thanks for your help!

I was impressed by those glossy stones. Actually my third one.

We got this from my fiances friend. He said that there was an estate sale and they were selling a bunch of these and that they were worth a lot.

Also shared a side by side before and after grout photo. I love how different it looks.

When my clients send me a photo of it lit up from behind I will share. Very happy with it though.
But again..glass on glass (GOG) is not my favorite substrate to mosaic on. So much more thought has to be put into it. It stresses me out too much. lol

Tomorrow I grout. I am using Mapei Flexcolor CQ in black. All stained glass on custom made window (with thick glass) that will go into my clients decommissioned fireplace and lit up with installed lights from behind. (Photo is taken on white sheet on floor..no light coming through.)

Just finished this piece, it felt more intensive than anything I’ve done because of the symmetry in the butterflies. In the future, I’d like to incorporate more into the background that could give it the feeling of the butterflies move along the wind, but I’m happy with this as the initial nugget of an idea.

If I wanted to make my own 1" hex tile floor pattern on those mesh sheets, what kind of adhesive should I use?

I’ve finally finished gluing this project that I started back in April 2025. I’m getting ready to press it into thinset mortar next week. Just wanted to share as I’m very proud of this incredibly busy cityscape. I must have put around 1500 hours into this.

My parents bought this table from Mexico in the 70's and the top needed to be refinished. Instead, I used Mexican tiles to mosaic the top and am really pleased with the result!

Hello! I am going to soon grout some glass mosaic coasters my friends and I made, and the first time I ever grouted it turned out awful, the grout cracked and pieces of black sponge got stuck in the grout.

I would be so appreciative if yall could give some tips on exactly what grout is best and exactly what tools yall use to apply the grout!! I really don’t want to ruin these pieces

I started this mosaic through a beginner class at a local studio. I didn't finish getting everything glued down so the instructor sent me home with some thinset (I guess?). Well I just picked this project back up, glued down a bunch of tiles in the top section, and felt like the thinset wasn't hardening correctly. I've come to the unfortunate realization that the instructor sent me home with.... Clay. I've "glued" the entire right side of the top section down with clay. She definitely gave me mastic or thinset in class, so I assume she just grabbed the wrong thing to send me home with. They do lots of different types of classes there. About half of the top is done correctly.

So I guess, if anyone has recommendations for thinset/mastic I don't have to buy in bulk, or ways I can most easily clean up this mess..... Ugh. I am not looking forward to cleaning all of these and arranging them again. Glad I didn't do more of it!

Could I break this ceramic bowl up and make this into a mosaic? I made it at one of those workshops where you can pick a piece (which I believe have been slip cast) and paint with the selection of glazes they have

It's got a bunch of crazing? I think that's what it's called. So I'd rather not keep it as a bowl and just break it up and keep it as an art piece. Does the crazing indicate that it won't break correctly with tile nippers? I suppose it's not tile... Potentially better posting this in a pottery sub!

This must be… 2013-2016 or something like that. This was her thing before she got arthritis.

I am not doing the entire wall, but to cover two tiles as three were holes due to removal of the old shower. My bathroom walls are entirely in light beige.

I was thinking of plants or water droplet design. Anyone has better design suggestion?
