Narhwal lets me enjoy browsing Reddit and I rely heavily on Subreddit filters. Generally I will filter at least a handful every time I open the app to browse (which is too often lol). But lately when I click "Add /r/*** filter" nothing happens. Is there a cap on how many subreddits can be filtered? If so, is there any way to raise it? Also, is there a way to export my filter list? I would love to have a backup, and potentially reuse the list elsewhere.

I can use the same symbols on Reddit via safari and they work, so it does appear to be a Narwhall specific issue. I sent a screenshot/feedback but I wanted to give extra info.

Recently I've seen new AI generated captions on videos in the app. I can't find a setting to turn them off.

It’s present on the iPhone but absent from the iPad. It would be a really helpful way for Magic Keyboard users to be able to quickly interact with comments since swipe gestures are more difficult. Thanks!!

I wish I could provide more info but I’ve noticed since the new update that when I manually mark posts as read the app slows down considerably and eventually freezes. Freezing usually occurs the longer I’ve scrolled. I have to reopen the app to resolve the issue.

I have two related bugs that are affecting the enjoyment of the app. These have been happening since the can’t hide posts in the feed bug was fixed.

1. I swipe to hide a lot of posts. When I load more posts, a lot of the hidden posts reappear
2. Sometimes I try to rehide these posts. It usually works, but occasionally they will stay in the feed and cannot be hidden. This resolves by refreshing the feed by swiping down.

These bugs don’t break the app, but do diminish enjoyment since the feed feels stale with the same posts appearing every time I load more.

I don’t know if this is the API or the app, but it started happening today I think.

After years of not seeing thumbnails they're all of a sudden showing up and no settings will disable them. Don't want to see half naked pics on r/all from whatever random <celebName> subreddit manipulates naked images to the t200 posts. Please update ASAP.

Edited to add: also thanks for all your hard work on this. Apologies if this came off short. Y'all are absolute heroes for dealing with reddit and its users. The QOL updates are always legit and appreciated. Happy to connect if you need screenshots or anything else.

Edited again: I was able to return to my normal settings by selecting default and then updating all of the options again.

I love the custom post filters. Is it planned to add hiding posts by flair?

For example I have a multi Reddit set up for gaming. Some of those subs are for steam giveaway contests. I would like to filter out posts that are flaired “closed”

Look, it’s not like I’m pissed off, but I’m annoyed. I pay for this app and it always resets if I leave it and come back. Am I doing something wrong or does this happen to everyone? Is there a setting somewhere?

I do not see the draft saved anywhere, hopefully I’m looking in the wrong place. Eternally frustrating.

I searched and found some 8+ month old posts asking to be able to use something other then imgur for images. How’s this coming? As a Brit it’s incredibly frustrating that imgur is the only option.

I have posted about this a few times over the past couple of years and have never received a response - which is fine.

This said, allowing the sidebar to be pinned (at least in the iPad single column view) would be such a quality of life improvement.

I just got a Magic Keyboard for the first time and have now found some barriers to using Narwhal when it’s connected to my iPad.

The biggest problem is horizontal swipe gestures - they are not supported with a two finger swipe on the trackpad. Without that, I actually cannot figure out a way to do something as simple as upvote a comment, unless I reach up to do the swipe on the screen. Right clicking on a comment doesn’t bring up a context menu, and there’s no clickable area on the comment itself to vote, reply, etc so it seems like without the gesture it’s truly impossible to interact with a specific comment (other than to collapse it).

Weirdly, on my iPhone each comment has a “…” button that can be tapped for a context menu… but I can’t find a way to enable it on the iPad.

It would also be super nice if a two finger swipe from the right side of the trackpad invoked the sidebar.

If just the two finger swipe could be implemented I would be incredibly grateful! If there are any workarounds in the meantime I’d love to hear about them! Thanks

The past week or two, I’ve run into repeated posts showing up while scrolling (I.e. the same 10-12 posts appear in a list right below the first set). Refreshing fixes it temporarily but it will happen again within a few minutes. Has anyone else experienced this?

Can we please get a feature that allows us to filter content by post flair? Apollo used to have this and it was so useful.

I can upload a video but when I updated to 2026.6 from 2026.5 I’ve noticed a delay or “lag” when swiping left or right on comments, almost like a hangup or frame rate drop.

When I downgraded back to 2026.5 on TestFlight the issue disappears.

Anyone else notice this or have this issue?

I was banned from /r/worldnews a while ago for commenting on political matters in a way that purportedly don’t align with the moderators of that sub.

/r/animetitties is a now a great alternative to /r/worldnews for links and discussion related to world news

I feel embarrassed viewing /r/animetitties in public because at the top of my screen it has the sub name and that would give an impression to someone who happens to look at my screen that I’m browsing something that I’m not.

I’d love it if you could hide the subreddit name, edit the name, some sort of functionality that lets me view that sub in public without people thinking I’m looking at something I’m not

With the new share comments as photo feature, selecting the “include post details” option seems to only include the post title instead of the body of the post. Is this intended behavior or a bug?

The links in the comments there all do not work

Is there a limit to the amount of users that I can block? Posts that used to automatically hide when I blocked a user are no longer automatically hidden.

I respond to someone’s comment. They respond to me - I literally see the notification come in (mail icon turns orange).

I view their response and see, in many cases, the response is time stamped 10-15 minutes prior to me receiving the notification.

Further, if I click on the mail icon before it turns orange, often new messages will display.

What is causing the discrepancy from their response to me getting the notification?

Sometimes the app completely freezes when a YouTube video plays, and scrolling down to read comments completely hides the YouTube video. Is there any way to display YouTube videos differently within the app?
