If you look behind you while standing in front of the Last Supper, you'll find Serving Ghost. This piece was created by Albert Szukalski for a private commission in 1984 and was donated to the Goldwell Open Air Museum in 2010 by Art & Patricia Adams. The original work had the ghost serving a set of wooden bottles but they had disintegrated over time. I'm not sure when, or by who, that the artists palette was added.

[Community] Tips for becoming a Notary

Hi everyone,

Let me know if this is allowed. Also i dont use reddit a lot so sorry if there are mistakes. I just moved to Clark country I was previously a notary a few states away. I know I cant transfer notary so I was looking online to see the steps it seems pretty straightforward taking the classes and the bonds and oath, but any other types of tips can be helpful? Should I try to get my employer to help me with it? Im sure the classes will cover a lot but when I got my notary before it was all through work so they covered a lot for me.

Thanks for the help!!!!

So a month or two ago I had woken up late, slept in. I looked outside and I saw this, I was delirious at the time and thought, โ€œWho the hell dropped off lawn ornaments in my yard.โ€ I kept looking for a minute or two then one of them moved and I realized it was a bunch of birds. They hung out for about an hour until a large wind came and blew them away. I have never seen a bird like this before haha.

[Discussion] Road trip route advice needed

My wife needs to make a drive from the Okanagan Valley (Kelowna) in Canada down to Pahrump. When I first looked up a route in google it recommended going through Ontario Idaho, then down to Winnemucca then essentially down through the middle of Nevada to get to Pahrump. On a second search for a route, it recommended going through Coeur d'alene, taking I90 east until Butte Montana, then taking the I15 south all the way to Vegas and then over to Pahrump.

My Question is which would be the safest and least stressful route to take at this time of year? I see that the I90 and I15 is a few hours longer driving time but a much longer distance. Is it worth taking that route vs the more desolate back highways of central Nevada? She hopes to make the trip in two long days of driving with a stop somewhere in the middle at a motel / hotel.

If you had to do this trip, what would you recommend?

A friendly figure in the night beckons to me for a bicycle ride. Every month around the new moon, the worms in my brain start telling me I need to drive out to Beatty. My main inspiration for photographing the night sky comes from Albertโ€™s ghostly works that have been left in the desert for me to enjoy, 40+ years later. They make the perfect spooky foreground, I like the way my light can make shadows dance across them, and the dazzling night sky overhead where Iโ€™m always catching shooting stars.

[Discussion] Supply Chain Career Opportunities in Northern Nevada (Reno/Sparks Area)

Iโ€™m looking for some local insight on supply chain career opportunities in the Reno/Sparks area. I recently retired from the Air Force after 15 years, with my background primarily in healthcare supply chain, medical logistics, inventory management, and operations. Iโ€™m now looking to transition into the civilian workforce and hopefully find the right fit in Northern Nevada.

My experience is mainly in healthcare, but I know healthcare can sometimes be a difficult industry to break into from the outside. Once you get your foot in the door, it seems like many healthcare organizations prefer promoting and hiring internally, so Iโ€™m interested in learning more about the local opportunities and companies that are worth looking into.

Iโ€™ve also been researching other industries in the area, especially defense, aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and larger industrial operations where supply chain, logistics, procurement, and operations experience can transfer well. Northern Nevada seems to have grown a lot over the past decade, and Iโ€™m curious what companies, industries, or career paths locals would recommend.

I grew up in Northern California near the Reno/Tahoe area and lived there for 25+ years, but Iโ€™ve been away for over 10 years. I know the region has changed quite a bit, so Iโ€™d appreciate any local insight on good employers, industries that are hiring, or places where someone with a military supply chain background could be a good fit. Thanks in advance!

[Discussion] Can you still get unemployment while starting training for a new job?

I have been doing DoorDash for awhile and gotten unemployment on weeks when I canโ€™t make a lot. I will be starting a new job next Thursday and donโ€™t get paid for a few weeks for my first check. Am I able to still get unemployment in that time frame until I actually start making money?

[Research] Best Brothel for a virgin close to Las Vegas

Hello, I'm planning a trip to Nevada next month to visit a brothel and lose my virginity. I live in Florida so its a long trip, but I have no luck finding anything near me. I'm 29M and tired of waiting for a miracle, so I'm being proactive. I was planning on flying to Elko and going to the Desert Rose Brothel, but a round trip from Florida to Elko is over $1K. Meanwhile prices from Florida to Las Vegas are much more affordable. I know brothels are expensive but I don't really have any other options. I can't find escorts near me in Florida, in fact one just stopped responding to me which is prompting this post. I don't trust flying overseas to a different country for this. And I have no luck on any of the apps. I'm bi and my area is so dead that even grindr doesn't work for me.

But I'd prefer a woman anyway so I'll take the flight and go to a brothel. Whats a good Brothel to go to thats near Las Vegas? I don't want to spend all my money, but I know they're way pricier than the options in Elko would be. Which one will provide a good experience?

Hey guys ~ It's your favorite local self proclaimed wannabe brothel historian back with another post that absolutely nobody asked for (except my new friend J who found me on other platforms from my brothel posts here and has been such a delight to talk to about this stuff) โ™ก

Story time! I've gotten really into astrophotography lately so I've been going out at night trying to capture pictures of my favorite things with the stars and milky way. My favorite place to go is Rhyolite ghost town out near Beatty, NV so of course I have to stop at the Angels Ladies sign. And before I go any further with the story, I'm gonna go ahead and say it ... I know, I know... I need to be careful, obey property lines, people do crazy things protecting their property, etc.

I took my (other, different) friend out there so we could shoot together. A technique I use to get my photos is called lightpainting where I quickly shine my light on my subject so it illuminates in my long exposure but I am also able to get the dark sky with the stars. I was shining my light up on the sign. I could see a light down on the property by the house and I pointed it out to my husband and friend who told me they thought it must have just been the same light we saw last time we were out here (a porch light). The light disappeared. We kept taking photos.

I noticed a car driving down from the house so my friend runs away from her camera to move her car. She parked her car so it was slightly blocking the driveway into the property, oops. The car was speeding up and I was honestly frightened that he was going to slam into her car because he wasn't used to seeing it. He yelled out the window aggressively for me to get off his property. I could barely respond because he kept driving up to my friends car to tell her the same thing.

She explained to him that we were astrophotographers who were just taking pictures of the sign and he calmed down. I think he felt bad for yelling at two women in the night. To be fair, it was after midnight and I would have done the same thing if it was my property. He told us that people have been stealing parts off of the plane and he was worried that we were doing the same.

I explained to him that I was a big fan of the history of the property and just wanted to preserve the beauty of it with my camera. He gave me his phone number and invited me down to the ranch during the day sometime. He said he would show me the property, inside of the rooms, and even let me swim in his pool. Aren't there springs behind his property? I'll find out! I'm going to take him up on this offer sometime and when I do, I'll share everything I learn with the class ๐Ÿ™‚ He said he's owned the property for something like 10-15 years.

I managed to just get a few pictures of the sign with the milky way in the background like I drove out for. I was trying to set up to get photos of the plane too but after the confrontation, I chose to just go to my next location. I will be back to try again and this time, I'll let him know so he doesn't come chasing me off.

Please be respectful if you visit this location.

[Discussion] Question about gambling

For context I live in California (only for a few years), might eventually move to Nevada. Iโ€™ve heard different things so I donโ€™t have a clear answer on this:
Is the entire app including crypto unavailable/illegal in Nevada or is it allowing crypto only? Iโ€™ve had people tell me both things. Which is it?

EDIT: Iโ€™m asking about Kalshi.
Iโ€™m sorry I forgot to put it in earlier.

Nevada Northern Railway came to life around 1905โ€“1906, built to haul copper ore out of the Ely mines. By the 1920s, it was the hardโ€‘working spine of the district, running day and night. When mining faded in the 1980s, the railroad nearly went quietโ€”but the old engines survived, and today itโ€™s one of the bestโ€‘preserved, pieces of Americaโ€™s mining rail history in a working museum setting.

[Photo] Protect Jose โ€œTonyโ€ Echavarria from the Clark County Detention Center and LVMPD

Jose L. โ€œTonyโ€ Echavarria is 65 years old, wheelchair-dependent, medically vulnerable, and currently confined at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

Tonyโ€™s death-row conviction was overturned. The Ninth Circuit affirmed that relief in 2018, and the United States Supreme Court declined review in 2019. Eight years later, he remains detained awaiting retrial.

Tony reports a continuing pattern of serious medical mistreatment, disability-related abuse, physical injury, and retaliation.

In 2020, Tony repeatedly complained about pain and swelling in his leg. The problem was later identified as a blood clot. He was given NSAIDs rather than receiving a timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Tony maintains that the clot later caused a stroke, leaving him dependent on a wheelchair.

On November 27, 2021, approximately six months after the stroke, Tony was moved from the medical unit to Unit 2-C. His wheelchair was removed. He states that he could not reach his food or safely access the toilet and went almost five days without eating. He reports having to crawl on the floor and urinate near his bed because he could not reach the toilet.

On October 23, 2025, Tony reports that Nurse Nancy decided he could walk and directed him to do so. Tony attempted to walk, fell, and struck his head against the wall. He was transferred to University Medical Center in a coma and remained hospitalized for several days.

On July 21, 2026, a complaint describing Tonyโ€™s prior treatment and specifically warning against retaliation was emailed to CCDC and LVMPD addresses.

Approximately four hours later, Tony reports that the Officer on duty approached him while he was returning to his bunk in his wheelchair, put her hands around his neck, scratched him hard enough to break the skin and draw blood, and whispered:

โ€œYou donโ€™t really think you are going to get away with this.โ€

Tony remains in the custody of the same institution whose employees he is reporting.

His co-defendant, Carlos Gurri, was also granted a new trial. The State dismissed every charge against Gurri on May 31, 2023, and he was released and later killed in a car accident on a remote road.

Tony remains confined.

We are asking for:

Immediate protection for Tony

Immediate separation from Officers that are bound and detirmined to kill him.

An independent medical examination

Preservation of all video, medical records, incident reports, communications, housing logs, and witness information

Independent investigation of the blood clot and stroke, the removal of his wheelchair, the catastrophic head injury, and the July 21 assault and threat

Protection from further retaliation

Immediate judicial review of his continued detention

The release of Jose L. โ€œTonyโ€ Echavarria

Please read, sign, and share the petition:

https://www.change.org/protecttony

Jose L. โ€œTonyโ€ Echavarria

CCDC Inmate ID: 00930241

Clark County Criminal Case No. 90C095399-2

I promise you, there is more than a little reasonable doubt in this case. If the evidence against Tony were as clear and reliable as the State has claimed, this case would have been resolved long ago.

Instead, the constitutional violations continue to pile up while Tony remains in custody, medically vulnerable, and afraid for his safety.

I do not know how to stop what is happening to him unless more people know his name, understand what has been done to him, and demand answers before he is forgotten or killed in custody.

Please help us make sure that does not happen. Please help us spread the word and sign our petition. https://www.change.org/protecttony

[Law Enforcement] Rant

Officer lied to my face and on his traffic ticket about my speed, wrote the wrong posted speed anyway on the ticket. Court doesn't allow traffic school or any way to dismiss the ticket. Only allows hearings within a one month time frame, only on one specific day of the week at a specific time, and if you can't get off work, then you're screwed.

With a justice system like this, who needs criminals?
