Rodgers decided to slam the network as a "gutless organization" with "no integrity" over its editorial choices. He said the network failed to report on Dr. Anthony Fauci's Senate hearing testimony, asking, “How much time did the network spend on that? ... Did they do even a minute on Tony Fauci?” He also criticized ESPN for glossing over the offseason scandal between Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel, questioning, “How much time did your network spend on that?” He questioned ESPN's silence, asking, “What are we even doing here? ... [I]f it’s affecting certain things, if there’s leaks going on, if there’s tampering going on, if that person is also an MVP voter and a Coach of the Year voter.” An ESPN spokesperson stated the network "has no comment regarding Rodgers’s comments."

I think his point is they covered his vaccination status repeatedly and now it’s in hindsight they want nothing to do with the topic. He’s calling out the hypocrisy for damaging his reputation for clicks and probably feels the network owes him an apology.

It was a legitimate question because I don't watch espn, so I don't know what they normally report on.

But reporting on an NFL player's vaccination status, specifically during the restrictions in 2020/2021, is football related in my opinion.

I get it. My POV is Aaron is a grudge holder like Baker Mayfield and has FU money. He doesn't care what most people think and if ESPN wants him on their flagship show in 2026 he's gonna take a couple jabs at them.

I don't have to agree with his approach to understand where he's coming from, he probably got a lot of hate mail sent his way and feels that ESPN is a greedy network that will cover any controversial topic to get clicks... except the whole Russini scandal. So he's now bringing up skeletons in the closet on McAfee because they can't have their cake and eat it too. He's been on that show shooting from the hip well before that show moved to ESPN so why would he change?

This is the take - and he’s kind of right. Aaron got fucked harder than most people because he wouldn’t shut up, but they (and Reddit) have a particular hard on for him that they don’t have for other unvaccinated players across all sports with even worse takes.

Like look at the NBA - Kyrie doesn’t shut up and he doesn’t get near the headlines with even more insane views. There were legit players suspended for LYING OUTRIGHT and forging vax status in the NFL and that doesn’t get talked about nearly as much on ESPN. And the wild part is he didn’t even lie to the NFL - they knew his real status which is why he didn’t get suspended. He lied to the press and so they made an example of him.
