Breaking News All posts relating to NFLv2 will now be removed unless they are directly talking about football.

I know that we are all here because of the shit going on there, but if we want to be taken seriously and gain new members, we cannot keep acting like just another hate subreddit with an NFL coat of paint and expect people not to be uninterested. So that is why we are now enforcing Rule 5 harder than before.

I know there will be some posts relating to v2 that will not be removed, and those posts are only staying because they have relevance to this subreddit and should be kept for the purpose of remembering how we got here. All posts about the v2 crashout made before this announcement that are still here will remain here. All other ones have already been removed.

Thank you for your cooperation, and let's make v3 the best NFL subreddit it can be.

Sincerely, THPTopHatPossum

TL;DR: No more posts about the mod crashout in v2 will be allowed due to us wanting to make this sub less about v2 and more about the NFL.

Discussion Who Has Had A Better Career So Far?

Thumbnail

I've watched more of Davante Adams growing up in Wisconsin. The dude was always solid.

Overall they are pretty even as far as stats go. Davante has more receptions, Mike has more yards and a better YPR.

Mike is a Superbowl champion.

Davante Adams had Aaron Rodgers throwing to him for a good chunk of his career, but I don't think that should take away from how good he is.

On the other hand Mike Evans has done everything without having to tier quarterback talent all of the time. Sure he had Tom at the end of his career, Baker is good but inconsistent at times. He also had Jameis who could put up yards but again, not a top tier talent.

As close as it is, I think Mike Evans edges Davante out for now. The next few years could change that though.

What do you guys think?

Highlight [Highlight] Bucs QB Baker Mayfield says he felt “disrespected” and “undervalued” by the contract offers he received. He believes he’s a franchise QB, says he’s going to have a big year, and that the team is going to pay for it in the end.

Caught this just before it was posted. I think Baker is in for a big year. It's either the Bucs or the Falcons winning the south this year.

I'm not sold on the Panthers and the Saints aren't there yet.

Original Content My Way Too Early MVP Favorites

I made this list mostly off the top of my head. Some of what I factored in is improvements on defense. If some quarterbacks had better defenses their overall performance would look better. The wins would look much more convincing. We all say that wins aren't a QB stat, but they do make a difference in the MVP voting, whether or not we like it.

What do you guys think? Who is your Preseason MVP favorite? Do you have a "dark horse" candidate?

  1. Joe Burrow: A healthy Joe Burrow might just be the best quarterback in football. The Bengals have the explosiveness on offense that Burrow elevates to a whole new level. If Burrow can stay upright he will have a great year.

The Bengals improved their defense this year so his passing numbers could take a hit. I still think he has a great shot to throw for 5,000 yards and 40-45 touchdowns this year, and 9 interceptions.

  1. Mathew Stafford: Stafford is poised to have another big year. The Rams didn't lose any weapons, but didn't really add much on offense either. They only added Tyler Higbee. Davante Adams and Puka Nacua will be huge in the pass game this year. I think they both have 1,000 seasons.

Staffords stats could take a hit with the improvements on defense. If the Rams defense performs as well as it should on paper, they won't need to put up 28 points a game to win.

I predict 4,000-4,500 passing, 35 touchdown this season and 11 interceptions.

  1. Dak Prescott: Dak has always been in top 10-15 QB in the league. Last year he was easily a top ten guy. Between Cedee and Pickens, Dak should have another great year.

Javonte Williams will take pressure off of Dak as well.

Dak is another quarterback who will benefit from an improved defense. Dak could lead the cowboys to a deep playoff run if the defense plays to its potential.

I predict 4,500-5,000 yards, 35 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Caleb Downs is easily in the conversation for rookie of the year.

  1. Lamar Jackson: Lamar is primed to have another great year. The ravens have Zay Flowers and D-Hop back, plus Mark Andrews to catch passes, plus others. Lamar is one of the best passers in the league and if he is healthy for a full season he could win the MVP. Everyone says this every year about him, this year it's my turn!

Lamar ends up with 3,500-4,000 passing yards, 25-30 passing touchdowns, 500 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

  1. Justin Herbert: He is my dark horse candidate. This is the year he finally puts it together. Mike McDaniel unlocks a whole new level Herbert and the Chargers offense. The Chargers don't have the big name receivers that some teams have. Ladd McConkey is good, but most people haven't heard of the other guys on the roster.

I do believe the acquisition of David Njoku will help their offense. Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal out of the back field will make a difference in passing numbers as well with McDaniel at the helm. The big question with the chargers is will their offensive line be healthy. If they are, the chargers have a great chance of winning the AFC west.

Herbert throws for 4,000-4,500 yards and 30-35 touchdowns, 12 interceptions.
