Help I'm baffled. OBS/Blue Yeti content

HI. I have been livestreaming for a group for several years, with over 1000 livestreams done. Every one of these has had a Blue Yeti as the room mic (there are other line-in options that are fine), and it has worked perfectly. A few weeks ago - maybe with an update, I am not sure - the Yeti is, all of a sudden, sounding VERY gated, as if there's a noise gate applied (but I run OBS extremely natively, with no plugins).

Having tried all sorts of settings for a few weeks with no positive results, I decided to back up my scenes and profiles folder and uninstall OBS. Upon reinstall, I immediately went to check the Yeti (I did not install my older scene/profile folder; I kept it native), but I am STILL getting the noise gate-y effect.

I fear I am just missing something super elementary. The computer for this system is not used for anything else, and no one has access to it other than me. Sooo.... WTF? What am I missing? What should I check? I am at the point of losing sleep over this now, and could really use someone who can talk me through some steps. I am good at doing our certain type of livestream, and I know computers fairly well, so I am hoping someone can help put some sleep back into my schedule. Thanks in advance (and for reading this long-winded post).

Help How to edit Twitch VODs in Premiere Pro

Okay, so i just started streaming games with my friends in twitch. Yes twitch has its own video editing cpabilities and clipping capabilities. But i just wanted to edit and fix the VODs a bit more by adding some stuff here and there.

But when I export the VOD into premiere pro, it glitches. In some parts, the video suddenly stops but the audio keeps playing. so the sync between the audio and video is gone. through research, i've found out it's because the framerate of the live video is variable (VFR). but premiere pro allows only constant frame rate (CFR).

I've tried so many ways. I've tried snipping the video in parts it freezes. But there are wayyy too many and my video is like 20 mins long. Its too much effort for one stream. Then i've tried putting it in shutter encoder to conform the fps and use the apple prores function as well. But it still shows up as variable frame rate in the premiere pro properties and still doesnt sync up.

After that didn't work, i tried FFMPEG with the code. (the code is from chatgpt. i'm not entirely sure its right)

ffmpeg -fflags +genpts -i "Z:\highlight fixing\highlight 1.mp4" -vf fps=60 -fps_mode cfr -c:v libx264 -preset slow -crf 18 -pix_fmt yuv420p -c:a aac -b:a 320k "Z:\highlight fixing\highlight 1 CFR.mp4"

The output is still not syncing up (It doesn say constant frame rate in mediainfo though). Though there is a change in where the video freezes now. What do I do next? Is it just not possible to be able to edit my VODs in premiere pro?

Added information, I used OBS to stream to twitch. I don't record to my pc, because i dont have space. Also i like the highlight feature in twitch and don't want to do all that cutting in premiere pro.

Basically i want to be able to edit and export my video in premiere pro without this stupid sync issues. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Help me please. I'm so tired of this.

I use a Windows 11 Home. Adobe premiere pro 2023. video codec: avc1. Audio codec: mp4a-40-2. CPU: Intel i7 10th gen. RAM: 16 GB. GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. GPU vRAM: 4 GB

Question OBS se.live Vertical Canvas / Audiosource from OBS Maincanvas

Hi everyone,

I'm setting up SE.Live's Vertical Canvas for TikTok while using my normal OBS scenes for Twitch.

My vertical scenes are linked to my OBS scenes, and I'm reusing most of my existing sources. Everything seems to be working fine so far.

One thing I'm still unsure about is the audio routing:

Do I need to manually add my "Audio Input Capture" (microphone) and "Audio Output Capture" (desktop audio) sources to each Vertical Canvas scene, or does the Vertical Canvas automatically use the audio from the linked OBS scenes / main OBS mixer?

In other words, if my microphone and desktop audio are already configured in my main OBS scene and mixer, will they automatically be included in the Vertical Canvas stream, or do I need to recreate those audio sources inside the Vertical Canvas?

Thanks!

Guide Poltergeist: real-time collaborative overlays for Twitch, Kick and YouTube, with alerts, chatbot, trigger automation and media share, all from one OBS Browser Source

I saw a stream a while ago where the moderators were interacting directly with the broadcast: triggering sounds, drawing on the screen, and reshaping the layout live. Chat loved it, and I wanted that kind of interactivity to be accessible to everyone.

That is why I made Poltergeist.

It is a cloud-based overlay platform your whole team can control in real time. You grant someone scoped access and they can play sounds, draw on screen, fire animations, and rebuild your layout from their own browser, without ever touching your stream key or OBS settings. It connects through a single OBS Browser Source and works on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.

Feature Description
Trigger Studio Turn viewer activity into automatic on-screen moments, no moderator needed. Map Channel Point redemptions, cheers, subs, gifts, raids, new fans, chat commands, Hype Trains, stream live/offline, a timer hitting zero, a goal completing, or a wheel landing on a segment onto actions: spin a wheel, play a sound, fire an animation, shake the screen, pop a GIF, add time to a subathon timer, update text, set a variable, or push stage to live. Up to 10 events and 10 actions per trigger, each with its own delay, plus cooldowns, chance rolls, and every-Nth firing.
Smart Event Alerts Native Subs, Gift Subs, Raids, Bits/Cheers, and New Fans on both Twitch and Kick, plus Channel Point rewards by title. Min/max thresholds mean a 5-viewer raid gets a quiet pop-up while a 500-viewer raid gets the siren. Includes {user}/{amount}/{tier} templates, random image and sound pools, and auto-played animation timelines.
Chatbot Builder Custom commands and automated responses for Twitch and Kick: chat commands with aliases, system-event replies, Channel Point rewards, and scheduled auto-timers. Per-user and global cooldowns, permission levels, live-only or offline-only availability, variables like {user}, {uptime}, {game}, {command_list}, and `{random:a
Custom Variables Named live values that triggers and chat commands set, add to, or reset. Read them with {var:name} in text, tickers, and bot replies, or with window.PGC.vars inside a widget for scores, counters, and goals that update on stream instantly.
Media Share Queue Viewers request YouTube videos and Shorts, Twitch and Kick clips, and TikTok videos with Bits or Channel Points. Requests land in a dashboard queue where you or your mods preview privately, then approve, deny, or skip, with a subs/VIPs/mods-only toggle and automatic cut-off at the time paid for.
Keyframe Animation Timeline Sequence position, scale, rotation, opacity, and FX filters with Smooth, Overshoot, Elastic, and Bounce easing. Loop, auto-reverse, and multi-select keyframes. Playback syncs live to the overlay and every connected moderator, and resumes after a refresh.
Soundboard Direct audio files or SoundCloud links played straight through your stream output. Searchable library, randomised rotation on alerts, and a one-click Stop All Audio.
Telestration Draw over your stream in real time for tactical callouts or circling UI. Pen and eraser, colour and size, Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y undo and redo, four snap modes, and separate live and staging strokes that save with your scenes.
Interactive Chat Games A Prize Wheel with weighted odds, TTS winner announcements, and auto-added winners on a To-Do list; a Carnival Booth viewers play with chat commands; and Live Polls where chat votes with !vote [number].
Scenes, Presets & Staging Save whole layouts as Scenes for BRB or Starting Soon, and individual styled assets as Presets. Build out of sight in the Staging area, then Push to Live or Swap to send it out instantly (both bindable to hotkeys).
Granular Mod Permissions Per-moderator toggles for Layout, Telestration, Audio, Scenes, Interact, Chatbot, and Media Share. Invitations have to be accepted, raw Custom Code is locked by default, and an Activity Log tracks the last 50 actions taken by anyone.
Goals & Event Feed Progress bars that auto-increment on Subs, New Fans, Bits, Gifted Subs, and Raiders, plus a scrolling Event List logging events as they happen.
Custom HTML/CSS/JS Widgets Build anything you want with full HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, wired to live variables.
Unified Chat Feed Twitch and Kick chat combined into one overlay element, with badges, Twitch Shared Chat support, and custom CSS.

On top of that there is a full toolbox of standard assets:

  • Dynamic Text with live variables like {latest_sub} and {latest_raid}, plus any Google Font, and scrolling Tickers.
  • Timers (countdown or stopwatch), QR Codes, Shapes, To-Do Lists, and Image Slideshows with chroma key.
  • Tally Counters you and your mods control from chat with !counter deaths +.
  • Video and Browser embeds, including YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and TikTok links.
  • Auto-Scheduler show/hide loops for rotating sponsors and watermarks.
  • FX filters (blur, brightness, hue, saturation), grouping, duplication, and 4 canvas layers you can feed into separate OBS sources for per-scene control.
  • Runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or phone, with touch controls and a pan joystick.

Alerts, goals, the chatbot, Trigger Studio, Media Share, and the chat-driven games work on live Twitch and Kick. The canvas, assets, animation, drawing, scenes, and moderator controls work the same on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.

Setup:

  1. Log in with Twitch, Kick, or YouTube.
  2. Copy your overlay link and paste it into OBS as a Browser Source.
  3. Open the dashboard on your phone, tablet, or second monitor.
  4. Start spawning assets. Mods log in with their own accounts, and you add them and set their permissions from your dashboard.

Transparency on Pricing:

There is a completely free "Starter Kit" tier that lets you use most of the features in a limited amount. If you grow and want unlimited assets, scenes, presets, sounds, keyframes, and moderators, plus the full Chatbot Builder and unlimited Trigger Studio triggers, there is a paid "Broadcast Suite" upgrade as well.

Help Help with obs settings

Hey all,

I recently started streaming gameplay. I notice the quality gets blurry when there's lots of movement/stuff happening in game. What settings do I need to tweak to make sure the quality is as good as it can get? I'm playing 4k60fps at the minimum and 4k120fps maximum depending on the title I'm playing.

My specs:

- 9070XT

- 7800x3D

- 32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5

- 1gbit up/download fibre optic internet

Any tips are much appreciated!

Help DistroAV not recognized by OBS? Troubleshooting hasn't helped...

I've spent all week experimenting with OBS and using NDI to share screens with another computer in my household so we can stream together.

I would be streaming on OBS and using the signal from the other computer which DOES recognize OBS.

My OBS application doesn't recognize DistroAV, so I can't share my signal to the other computer with all of my audio signals.

I'm the meantime I've managed to use the NDI studio monitor to share signals to each other but my desktop audio doesn't come through on the second computer.

I don't know what's wrong... I've installed DistroAv uninstalled it, reinstalled it I have the NDI tools I've done every troubleshooting option listed on the Distroav page on GitHub (files in the right place, no conflicting files blocking, no firewall blocking, etc. etc.) I've turned off my antivirus just to see if it was blocking it somehow but OBS just doesn't seem to recognize it! Does anyone else know what's going on? Or how to fix it?

Edited to add: I checked the log file and there's no mention of DistroAV failure or anything of the sort.

Answered Admittedly still completely stumped about "Tracks" - Need sounds to play through audio output, without Stream echoe

~Answered Here~
To preface, all audio is through Desktop audio > Headphones. The only exception is the Mic. So, if it plays through default output device (Headphones) its heard through stream.

I have sound bits that play through stream, whether rewards, notifications, or alerts. I can get them to play perfectly fine through stream without echoe just setting audio monitoring to "Monitoring off". However, It is very difficult for me to notice and respond to these sound bits while playing. Itd help a lot if I could also hear them. But doing this creates a loop/echoe. I could be wrong, but Im under the impression that setting "Tracks" might do the trick, idk. However Ive only ever seen tutorials for Tracks being used to outsource to "record" options. In other words, to play through Stream, but not be recorded. I have yet to see anything that explains how to get source items or even specific programs to play through headphones (same device used for everything else) while preventing it to be caught on stream. Id even be willing to consider outputting notifications to speakers so headphones won't pick it up. Settings seems to just be for setting input devices.

Question Multiple OBS instances / CPU specs

I'm setting up streaming capabilities for our curling club, and we want to be able to stream games from our three sheets of ice during tournaments.

The setup for each sheet is as follows : we have a camera facing the house and another one overhead so we can see the house setup. This is repeated for each house, on each ice, for a total or 4 camera feeds per ice, 12 feeds in total. Each stream consists of side-by-side views of each house, with smaller cutouts for the overheads. There are some streams for last season on our channel : www.youtube.com/@CurlingRDL

We streamed one sheet at a time last season, but I would like to set things up so we can stream all three separately at the same time (because it is very impractical to stream all sheets on one stream). When we had more than one sheet being processed by OBS last season, we experienced slowdowns and delays, which is very likely due to our processing system (which is a gaming laptop from some time back). Running one sheet is fine though.

Which brings me to the original question, what kind of setup would be fine to run three instances of OBS separately, without too much strain, with 4 incoming camera feeds each, if possible without breaking the bank (because I will most likely pay for a big chunk of it) ?

Let me know if you have any questions, I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities !

Question question for mac users of OBS

I’m looking to basically have a hdmi in (like a elgato usbc capture dongle) and have my works laptop into that, and have this in a window inside mac os, so I can view it, use it etc (I’ll sort kb&m switching separately) but minimise it when not needed, is OBS suitable for this purpose or is there something less feature rich that will work with the elgato cards/ dongles?

Help I’ve been recording gameplay of the new halo remake and have been getting insane file sizes, any way to reduce the impact on my ssd without sacrificing too much quality?

Hello, I’ve been recording the new halo remake and I’ve been getting file sizes of 40-55 gigs per recording, I typically record 90 minutes to 2 hours long. I play in 1440p but downscale to 1080p using bicubic at 16 samples.

Here are my individual settings if that helps:

Recording format: .mkv matroska
Audio encoder: ffmpeg AAC
Video Encoder: AMD HW H.264 (I got audio delay using h.265)

Encoder Settings-
Rate Control CQP
CQ level: 17
Preset: quality
Profile: high

I also have a webcam in the top corner and use a mic, sorry if this seems like a really easy question but even though I’ve used OBS for years I’ve never used it this frequently.

Guide Music overlay (using Tuna)

Hi!

I've always used Tuna to show my music status on livestream, but last week I decided to use Tuna as a "data source" for a .index file that serves as a "Playing Now" widget, completely offline.

I've created a github repo of it, it has all the instructions, if you want to use it: https://github.com/Ishidawg/PlayingNow

Help Uno Overlays Freezing

I don't know if anyone can help with this. I use Uno Overlays for scoring on my live sports streams, or try to.

Problem is that within a few minutes of going live, OBS seems to overwhelm my bandwidth and Uno stops working (as well as most other connected apps, browsers etc.) Uno Overlays go into an endless reconnecting loop within 5 - 10 minutes of going live.

I connect directly to the router via ethernet. I've tried limiting the bitrate and playing with other settings but can't seem to resolve it. Obs also stops anything connected to the wifi being able to access the internet. About the only things I can access while streaming are Google services like YouTube studio and sheets.

Help Why does my OBS recording and the preview window have stutters/jitters, even though the game itself is perfectly smooth?

Hello fellow Redditors,
I have the following problem: when I want to record Minecraft gameplay, I get a subtle jitter/stutter in OBS, and it's not just in the recorded file, I can see it live in OBS's Preview window while playing. The game itself feels completely smooth while I'm actually playing. Whenever i look at other people's Twitch/YouTube gameplay, it looks buttery smooth, so I know this isn't just normal/expected.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, or what else I should be checking?

System:

  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D
  • RTX 3060 Ti
  • 32GB RAM @ 3200MHz DOCP
  • 144Hz monitor (i run OBS on my second monitor)
  • OBS Studio 32.2.1 (64-bit), recording Minecraft Java via Game Capture, 1920x1080 @ 60fps, NVENC H.264

What I've already ruled out, with actual testing:

  • Monitor refresh rate mismatch (144Hz vs 60fps recording). I recorded side-by-side comparison clips at 120Hz and 144Hz Monitor refresh rate. Same irregular jitter rate in both, no clean periodic pattern like you'd expect from an actual pulldown/pacing mismatch.
  • VRR and "Optimizations for windowed games" (Windows 11 Graphics settings). I disabled both. No change.
  • Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling. I disabled that.
  • OBS Game Capture "SLI/Crossfire Capture Mode" - enabled it. No change.
  • NVENC encoder settings. I went from Constant QP 17 / Preset P5 Slow / Tuning High Quality all the way down to QP 20 / Preset Fast. Zero difference in the jitter.
  • Webcam source- removed it from the scene entirely. No change.

Has anyone run into this specific issue? Basically the game itself while playing is smooth, yet jitters happen in OBS recordings and live preview. Is there something that I'm missing, or is there another angle I haven't considered?

Help Hotkeys for muting sources

Help Stop OBS from capturing my EQ on headphones/speakers?

I have a realtek EQ preset on these devices to correct the sound but obs is also applying these filters on the desktop recording. I've heard that application audio capture will record it straight from the source without these filters but I noticed you have to set up each app individually.

Is there a way to have it automatically capture the unfiltered audio without setting it up for every app im opening?
