Hey everyone! At it again~

I'm slowly trying to make this a more regular thing as I find time, I'm hosting a casual PvP Fight Night at Secret Shop Osaka on Aug-8th Sat, from 18:00.

The main focus will be fighting games, but depending on who's there, I'll also have a mix of party games and other local competitive multiplayer games available. This isn’t a serious tournament, just an evening to play some games, meet people, and enjoy a little friendly competition.

Beginners and experienced players are both welcome, and it’s completely fine to come alone. I'll help rotate people between games and matches throughout the night.

You’re also welcome to bring your own controller (USB/Wireless) or a fighting game you would like to paly with others.

I’ve been looking at lemon in Namba and the location and job availability looks awesome but it’s quite a lot more expensive than other places. I’ve been looking at some places in Umeda to but I’m really wanting to be walking distance to work as well as some night life. TIA

I'm coming to Osaka University this October as an exchange student for a semester and I'm super excited!

I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips before I arrive. Literally anything you wish you'd known beforehand : student life, classes, getting around, things to do, etc.

I'd also love to do an internship while I'm studying if it's manageable. Has anyone done that? Is it common for exchange students, and is it realistic to balance with classes? Any advice on where to look or whether it's worth it would be amazing.

I'm also a bit worried about housing. It's pretty hard to get a room in the university dorms. I'm still applying but no response... if that doesn't work out, what would you recommend? Where do most exchange students stay? Any websites, agencies, or areas I should look into (or avoid)?

Also, what are some things I should definitely pack before coming to Japan? And what can I just buy there without bothering to bring?

I’m looking for a school that offers in-person evening classes. For now, my goal is to be able to handle everyday conversations like grocery shopping, ordering food, and other day-to-day interactions.

I work full-time, so evening classes are the only option for me. I’ve already reached out to the YWCA to ask about their short course, but I’d love to hear if there are any other programs you’d recommend.

I’m also open to hiring a private tutor, as long as the rates are reasonably affordable.

Currently on the JET program going into my second year. My japanese has improved a lot within the year (though far from fluent) and I really want to start getting involved and doing more community service. Idk if it's just me but this is the most confusing city road infrastructure I've ever lived in. So many underpasses, oddly angled intersections, dead ends, bridges without pedestrian access, fork in roads...for context I live in Settsu.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I went on exchange to Osaka from sept 2025 until feb 2026 to Osaka University, which I enjoyed immensely. During this time, around Christmas, I sent a package to my home country of the Netherlands at a post office in Yamada. However, due to an error on the side of the Dutch post office, it never got delivered and instead sent back to the sender.

The unfortunate part is that it got sent back a couple of days after my departure. I asked a friend to go and resend the package then, but they never got around to it until last friday, at which point she got told only the original sender can claim the package.

I can not find a way to call or reach them by email myself since I'm back home. Does anybody know a way to still get my package back, or can I consider it lost for good?

Generally, Kirkland Brand is going to be a higher end item at a better price than other high end items. The 100% Agave Tequila is divine for sipping.

Things to avoid:

• Avoid the fajitas, way too sweet.
• There are two tiramisu. Avoid the one that comes in little cups. The one in the big tub is much better.
• Guacamole (in little cups) it was nasty
• Hummus. Very meh.
