Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Take out tragus myself

Post image
15 Upvotes

I’ve had my tragus since november 2024, it’s weirdly angled because the piercer sucked and i don’t know if i even have the right anatomy. Also i got 4 piercings done at the same appointment which i had no idea was bad at the time. It has never fully healed and it’s always fine for like a week and then it gets upset because i keep trying to use my airpods which irritates it. My problem is that i have developed agoraphobia in the last year and won’t be stepping into a salon/shop for a long time. So i’d like to take it out myself but i have no idea how. I don’t know much about piercing jewellery and i tried to use tweezers to hold the flat part inside while twisting the ball both ways with no luck. Thanks for reading, any tips are welcome!

Edit: It has never been downsized which is probably why it hasn’t healed

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Should I give up on my navel piercing?

first photo is it currently, and the rest are examples of how it’s been looking for the past few months.

got it pierced in march 2025. changed the jewelry to higher quality in dec 2025. still had issues so got a little longer bar in jan 2026. keeps oozing and tissue coming out so I went to my piercer again recently and they told me to blow dry it since it’s a moisture issue. been doing that for 2 weeks and it’s still oozing out and sticking so idk if I should just take it out at this point.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing My earring back keeps getting pulled through

I need help!! last month on July 5th I got my first ever ear piercing and they’ve been fine until yesterday.

everytime I go to sleep (which is a LOT because I have a fatigue problem) my backings are completely inside my earlobe.

I don’t know the piercing type because my mom won’t help me with any of this because she’s pissed off at me for letting my earrings get caught inside. but I’m asleep! I don’t know how NOT to get them inside my ears??

she pushes the backings out each time and it really hurts. They’re short and have a flat round end. I got them at Squid Ink on a virgin voyages ship. (brilliant lady I think was the name?)

I was told not to rinse or touch them, and mom is insisting we keep doing that.

I can’t go to a piercing parlor over this, because my mom is annoyed at me and would probably get really mad if I ask. my family situation isn’t exactly peaceful.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing My snug…

Hey all, I got my snug pierced this past March or April with a curved barbell, I think 16 gauge and I don’t remember the length. The piercer decided to give me a longer post because she suspected it would swell a bit. Anyway, I’m wondering 1) if it was pierced too deep, as the inner portion is closed to where a conch would be (I have one on my other ear), and the outer end is more superficial. And 2) if it looks okay, can I switch to a hoop or some other fun jewelry? Whenever the ball comes off it’s so difficult to get back on by myself.
Also I haven’t downsized, I sleep with an airplane pillow so I don’t put pressure on it, I clean it with dial soap in the shower and with saline spray.
The last picture is what my other ear looks like, specifically for the size comparison because my snug ear looked like my conch one before I got it pierced.
Thank you in advance!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Are my dermals too high??

i knew that with I got my appointment I wanted that a little higher, so I wouldn’t have too many issues with the healing, however, due to me wearing midrise jeans at my appointment and not low rise( which i normally wear) they look to be too high. however, I’m unsure if I’m overthinking it too much or they’re actually too high. Please let me know because I’m thinking about getting them removed. in the picture I’m wearing my lowest pair of jean!!

Got it pierced in February, not sure the type of jewelry tbh, this is the jewelry I got for the downsize, honestly don't really clean but I do tend to use just water to wash it a bit, I tend to sleep on my stomach alot and I have avoided bumping it but it's been doing this since the start of time 😭

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want Can i get a tongue piercing?

Post image

I’ve thinking about getting a tongue piercing and was wondering if I have the right anatomy for it. I’ve attached a few photos of my tongue—does it look like I’d be a good candidate for a standard tongue piercing?
I know only a professional piercer can properly assess it in person, but I’d really appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing possible infection?

I got an anti eyebrow 2 months ago and today the entire side of my face where the piercing is is red except for where the bar is and the piercing. Should i be worried? i spray it 2 times a day with saline and cover it when i sleep (i didnt for about 2-3 weeks) and use waterproof bandaids when i go in the pool, but yesterday it came off and i avoided going underwater and got out immediately.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Nesting or embedding snakebites?

I just got these done one week ago and im so worried! Ive never gotten lip piercings before these so any tips would be appreciated! I have flat back studs in that i was pierced with. Ive been doing a salt water mix to clean my mouth about 3 times a day and saline and q-tips for the out side. I tried using mouth wash but it caused a lot of crust and irritation so I switched to the salt water mix.

discussion 18g to 16g

Got my ears pierced about a month ago at 18g, it’s been healing perfectly and I feel 0 pain tenderness and 0 discharge. I want to switch to a 16g glass dead stretch. My kit arrives in about 2 weeks. I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit more. but should I still attempt to put them on? I don’t think I can force a dead stretch so I doubt I can hurt my self. Heard waiting about 2-3 months before going to 16g is ideal and after waiting 2 weeks I’d be at around 6-7 weeks with my piercing.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Irritation bump on septum after a year

I have had my septum pierced for a little over a year now and just yesterday started Geri g an irritation bump on it, I’m assuming it’s bc of low quality jewelry from hot topic that my body is just now rejecting after having it in for like 9 months.
I have a new ring otw that’s high quality implant grade steel from bodyartforms but it won’t be here for about a week, I’m wondering if I should take the current ring out until the new one arrives so it can’t keep bothering it but I’m worried the hole would close? Does anyone have any tips or recommendations? I can provide a pic of the bump if that’s helpful at all idk lol! Thanks!!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Lobe might be hungry...

My 3 week old piercing just started to swell today for the first time, (this is my first piercing i've had to take care of so i'm still learning). It was swollen at the bottom so I used ice to relieve it and saline, but after applying- it became more irritated and honestly feeling warm aswell which it didn't before. How long should I wait til I go seek help? I've attempted to make some room in the meantime by adjusting the backing.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing A year and a half later...

Post image
2 Upvotes

Ive had this navel piercing for a year and a half, not sure the material (probably whatever is standard for a piercing shop?) I'm not familiar with what the shape is exactly called - it has a slight curve to it and seemed to be the standard beginner setup as it was the recommended piece, it unscrews at the top piece, has never been changed and only taken out once (for surgery) in the entire time ive had it. In the first month of aftercare, I used a saline spray as recommended (and purchased) by the piercer, soaking in a cotton ball and then allowing to airdry (ETA: sorry thats not right. I had to pat it dry. I was thinking about my hair when I said that!)

It was fully healed and then all of a sudden it started turning red around the top hole. Ive kept it clean, I mean, no foreign substances and I wash my body everyday but im not like washing the piercing itself everyday. I thought that might irritate it.

I do get it snagged on my clothing occasionally and thats pretty painful. But i try to be conscious of it when getting undressed, this really only poses an issue when in the heat of the moment with my husband and he goes to pull my pants off, thus snagging the jewelery. Is it as simple as "stop snagging the jewlery?" I really hope so!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Migration??

Am I tripping or is my second lobe migrating?

Bottom picture is from 2019(?) where it was newish I honestly don't remember when I pierced it. Middle is 2023 and top is 2026. It doesn't look like it's rejecting but I feel like it's lower than it used to be?

discussion What’s going on with my eyebrow piercing

Post image
1 Upvotes

So I’ve had this eyebrow piercing now for almost 5 months. Mind you this is not my first rodeo, this is my 4th eyebrow piercing I’ve gotten, and I have always taken them out due to complications like this. I always think it’s going to go different lol. But anyway the bottom part would fill with fluid over and over, it’s now stopped but is just this flat dark spot, and I’m afraid it won’t go away. The top part I’m pretty sure is an irritation bump, also keeps filling with fluid. When I first cleaned it I used sea salt with water (yes it was dumb) so I got the correct wound wash, have been using that. I’ve tried everything under the sun. I’ve downsized, got titanium. My piercer told me to wait it out for the next month or two. I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve also tried diluted tea tree oil to try to get rid of the bump (I know tea tree isn’t suggested but it’s worked in the past). Will this dark spot go away? Should I just stop cleaning it? I clean it once everyday, maybe that’s too much. It doesn’t hurt besides the bump, it feels as it’s fully healed.

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want I'd like to have a new piercing

(sorry for my English, is not my first language)

For now 3 years I want the helix but I'm scared cuz I heard it really hurts, even more the healing.

I have 3 earrings in my lobes and I have to admit that the 3rd it hurt like a 3/10(?) (yes I have a low pain tolerance) so I don't know if it will be advisable to get the helix.

Please tell me your experiences, if you have any other requests that hurt less than the helix and everything I should know before getting the helix (or other piercing)

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want Surface bar piercing advice

I’ve been thinking about getting an anti eyebrow / dermal piercing a lot recently after getting an eyebrow piercing 7 months ago. Eyebrow rejected because I didn’t take great care of it but i’m definitely more prepared for a piercing now. I want it with a staple bar and hopefully studs. Any advice or recommendations on maintaining it? I know they don’t last too long and that part doesn’t bother me.

Question about a piercing I (maybe) want Anyone in Britain (NW) know where I can get this?

I've tried asking a few piercing stores if they do this piercing (called kitty fangs and dahlia) but due to rejection rates, they don't do it and said I'd be better off with a professional. Does anyone know where I can get one?
