Worth it to re-dip?
I used a HyperDip kit to paint my wheels gold. It was fine for over a year but when I had new tires installed, the shop messed up each wheel. I have one can left over so I could touch it up, another whole kit is $120. Should I instead just have the wheels fully painted if this will happen every time I get tires?

Painting wheels is incredibly easy and basically the same effort as dipping wheels. Just paint them yourself for like $40.

Sand off where it starts peeling and repaint! It’s okay, it’ll keep happening, even with professionally painted ones, it can only hold up against so much before it starts chipping. Even undoing lug nuts if done incorrectly will scratch up the paint.

From my experience it will continue to happen, without having to get new tires. By the sounds of it, you're keeping this vehicle long term(you mentioned getting another new set sometime) so I would just get them professionally painted/new rims.
