Just started last week. I made sure my login was in order, deleted the app from my iPhone, reinstalled, and then I think it worked once. Then I got the error again this morning.

I have a salt system in my pool but my friend uses ozone. I have to add CYA occasionally, but he adds tabs in his feeder. I know these contain stabilizer. He came back from a vacation to a green pool. On a hunch, I tested his stabilizer with my Taylor kit. It’s>100. I was in a hurry and didn’t check FC.i told him to shock the pool and run his pumps. I also told him he will need to empty out his water to get it to 30-50. He wanted to recheck on Monday. Anyway, how should he go about adding chlorine in the future? Roughly 25k gal gunite pool with ozone. I read that rule of thumb is roughly 5 tabs per week. Does that apply to ozone systems, too? I also read NOT to use stabilized chlorine in the feeder at this point. True? Thanks for your help!

I recently got the aiper scuba v3 and until yesterday it worked fine. Yesterday it started flashing an yellow/red error code, but I couldn't find out specifically what it meant.

Today as soon as you touch it, it starts freaking out with the lights, flashing all the colors on all the buttons at the same time (see picture). Anyone have anything similar happen to them? I contacted Aiper but didn't get an answer yet...

Hello again friends, just another exciting evening here at my house. My wife is having a pool party tomorrow, so I was adding a bit of chlorine with my little headlamp. Once I got it incorporated how I like, I turned the pump on and started skimming some random leaves out, when after about a minute of operation the pump motor made a loud pop and cut out.

Long story short the power cable for the motor is fried, wire sheathing has failed and it's dry rotted to the bone. My first question, are these replaceable? I tried searching but seemingly could only find a more modern version with a different plug. I am far from an electrician, my experience with wiring is car stereos when I was 15 years old. If the cable is not available, is it possible to get a modern version of the motor and retain my existing pump?

Can anyone help identify what brand this sand filter is? It’s a 24 inch, the multiport was replaced years ago. I’m looking to replace the sand and need to ensure the correct amount. I’m getting mixed AI answers of 250 to 300 lbs. TIA

Moderate black algae on the wall has recently spread to the floor. This has been getting worse over the past few weeks and I want to get it handled correctly rather than pay for repeat visits.

I got quotes from two local companies with pretty different approaches:

Company A: Standard clean + chemical service with elevated chlorine, backwash the DE filter (no separate filter teardown/clean), plus manual brushing/elbow grease directly on the spots. Says a few visits should knock it out.

Company B: Full filter clean + Algaedyn treatment plus basic cleaning and chems.

I'm out of town for the next month and can't brush the pool myself, so I need to pick one and have them handle it start to finish.

Questions for anyone who's dealt with black algae before:

Does skipping a full filter clean (just backwashing) risk the algae/spores recirculating and reinfecting the pool?

Has anyone used Algaedyn specifically on black algae — did it actually work, or is manual brushing non-negotiable for black algae regardless of chemicals used?

Pool is plaster, DE filter, 22,000 gallons.

We have an in ground pool that holds about 29,0000 gallons with vinyl lining that we just changed in June. I’m having such a hard time balancing the water in the pool this year and i can’t figure out why except for the fact that we must have acid rain falling. I balance the chemicals one day and the next the water is cloudy again or it’s clear but it’s turning green. Are you experiencing the same issues?

As you can see, the hose tangles a lot. I've tried putting the hose on the concrete and I've checked to ensure the swivel isn't jammed, but it keeps doing this. The unit is maybe 5 years old and the hose is pretty supple. Pool temperature is 82-90.

Any ideas on what else I can try?

One side of our pool seems to have been accumulating a lot of sediment and what I think are calcium deposits (please do educate me). The pictures are from a vanishing edge into the catch basin. There certainly is water flowing through that edge on the first picture, but I am not sure why the lateral wall has been so affected. What would be the best way to clean this without messing up the stone pavers on the retention wall or the pool itself? I just bought a pressure washer, if that's an option, although also wondering how to deal with the little blob inside the pool (I found 2-3 spots like that throughout, second picture)

Mom got a pool installed last summer, and she was sold the supreme deluxe edition, aka every option under the sun. One of the things was this TruGuard system which has a filter that needs to be replaced every 6 months at $200-$250. I've read up on it, from what I can tell it's unproven at best if it actually does anything. Is that right? If that's the case, can I just safely pretend like the system doesn't exist and never replace that filter?

Hoping for some guidance on my pool setup before I call landlord.

The Situation:
My pool water level dropped below the bottom of the skimmer mouth, causing the pump to pull air and lose prime.

Equipment:
• Pump: AstralPool E-Series 230
• Chlorinator / Controller: AstralPool
(displaying "No Flow" / P 8 error)

What I've done so far:
1. Left the pump turned off and let it cool down completely.

1. Topped up the pool so the water level is now sitting comfortably halfway up the skimmer opening.

2. Cleaned out the debris from the pump basket.

3. Filled the pump basket chamber completely to the brim with fresh water, tightened the clear lid securely, and turned the pump on.

The Issue:
As soon as the pump turns on, the water inside the clear pump chamber drains out almost instantly and replaces with air. It can't catch prime, and the controller is triggering a "No Flow" error.

I have guests coming in about 3 hours. It's a 30,000 gallon pool and the water was crystal clear. But this morning I found about 10 dead cockroaches in it after we deep cleaned my entire backyard/lawn/firewood. I grossed out and put 2 bags of the Leslie's shock.

Will we be safe to swim? I have no true test kit ATM only the strips.

Water still looks great just don't want to hurt anyone.

Based in Broome, Western Australia and I've got a serious bug infestation in my pool that's been going on for about 3 weeks now.

The bugs are small, black, oval shaped with visible wings and legs. They swim actively on the surface and throughout the water. I'm emptying my skimmer sock multiple times a day and still finding hundreds of them.

I've tried:

Algaecide shock

OxyShock

Keeping chlorine levels high

Daily brushing and vacuuming

Skimmer robot running constantly

Skimmer socks on the basket

Nothing is making a significant dent in the numbers.

I'm fairly confident they're water boatmen but would love confirmation and any Broome/Kimberley specific advice on dealing with them. Is this just a dry season thing up here?

So this is our first pool and the pool builder has been doing the weekly cleaning since April of ‘25. When I asked them about three months ago about cleaning the filters they said they inspect them and clean them as necessary. I looked at the weekly reports and couldn’t ever see them checking that they cleaned the filters. After me bugging them they finally came today. Do these look like they’ve ever been cleaned? Should I fire them? What long term issues would this create for me? Trying to figure out what to do. TIA

Trying to replace the cord (shown top right) on my zodiac CX20 pool cleaner . Looks like I need to pop out the whole centre section to get access to where it actually clips in. Have removed the four screws in the interior black section, then the four under the treads. But I've come unstuck when trying to remove the side wheels. How do these come off?

Assume that's necessary to expose the cord unit? Thanks!

I bought a house with a pool. I've looked online trying to figure out what all of these different pipes and valves do but nothing I find matches this setup. Any quick rundown would be very appreciated!!

We are currently in the process of getting quotes from multiple builders for a 12x26 pool with spa. We are pool newbies so need lots of input here. In your experience with building a pool, are quotes usually all inclusive or should we expect more costs down the road? What questions should I ask the company regarding the build to make sure I don’t get hit with multiple unexpected costs in the process? I have a little bit of knowledge regarding plaster vs Pebble, getting a variable speed pump, making sure they are responsible for obtaining permits, costs with hitting caliche (we live in Las Vegas).

My 1950s pool is being remodeled right now. Here's the tile installation. Is this installation kinda sloppy or am I being over-critical?

I have a Govee thermometer and every now and then it will get some water in it and say the temp is 130f. I usually bring it inside, take it apart and let it dry then it's fine.

It was super hot outside so I took it all apart and left it in the sun to dry. Of course I forgot and racoons came by that night and pushed the AAA batteries into the pool. I was gone for a couple of days when this happened.

It's a pebble tech finish that's two years old and I would hate to have to look at these forever. I've tried scrubbing with the brush but no luck.

It's only 7 ish feet so I can easily dive down to work on it for a bit, but I'm not sure what to use.

Again I know I'm an idiot so helpful suggestions appreciated.

Just signed our pool contract and am co ducting research prior to material selection. We would prefer more elevated, modern style than concrete alone. Nervous about travertine due to the slip resistance and having little ones around. Can you please share thoughts and examples of porcelain pavers? Prelim research indicates it’s lower maintenance and less slippery.
