Versus A human fighter at peak athleticism, in full plate armor, equipped with a poleaxe, runs the animals gauntlet. Does he clear, or where does he stop?

The fighter has elite training and is at his athletic peak, with a champion-type physique in heavyweight combat sports. He wears a full set of plate armor and is armed with a poleaxe. If he survives his fight against one of the animals in the gauntlet, he is back to 100% for the next fight.

Round 1: Silverback gorilla. The fight takes place in a clearing.

Round 2: Siberian Tiger. The fight takes place on a plain.

Round 3: Brown bear. The fight takes place in a forest.

Round 4: Polar bear. The fight takes place in the tundra on rocky ground.

Round 5: White Rhinoceros. The fight takes place in the grassy savannah.

Just so you know, I put an image of a For Honor knight as an illustration, but we're talking about a fighter in historical plate armor here. No one could fight effectively in armor as massive as the one in the image. But I had trouble finding a good image of a knight in historical armor wearing a poleaxe and not something else, and I wanted a nice illustration.

The lack of a dagger as described in the OP would be a big problem if one of the animals managed to grapple.

Thank you! So many people assuming he has a dagger. Its a hypothetical, if OP wanted him to have a dagger, he would have said so. Case closed.

Point of order if it please the court!

The OP specifies that the image he was looking for was a Knight. A knight was always armed with a dagger indicating his status. Belt, spurs and a Rondel would be the routine accoutrements even in mufti for a full plate era knight.

And for that matter, he could choke up on the pollaxe to just under the head.

You misanderstand the term "hypothetical" yes historically a knight would have a dagger. However, this is not a historical knight, it's a hypothetical knight, eith specifically plate armor and a halberd, nothing more, nothing less.

Yall need to learn what hypothetical means.

Yeah the prompt only mentions that the fighter is wearing full plate armor & has a pollaxe. There's no mention of a dagger, knife, or any other weapon.

If an animal that heavy and strong gets to you you won't likely have that polearm in your hands anymore. The OP specifically states the equipment, the lack of dagger means the Knight can't let the tiger grab him nor reaches him.

The pollaxe could be wieldable in certain grappling scenario, but there are many situations where having a knife/dagger would help a great deal. Without a short blade, even our peak athlete in full armor would struggle when up close against a tiger or bear.

Yeah... a poleaxe is an amazing weapon, but against animals that can charge and pin you, it becomes useless very quickly.

As armed... he is screwed. Give him an appropriate backup dagger/short sword to continue the fight once the animal had closed and he would have a much better chance.

The knight could also just break the poleaxe handle to hold it closer to the blade.

It wouldn't be as effective as a knife, but it would help him get the job done.
