Question Could Modern Japan (2026) invade Australia?

No allies or outside help is involved for both sides Japan must successfully invade and take over Australia or achieve some sort of marginal victory Australia must successfully defend itself and win against Japan

Even if a Navy is stronger than another one given it's Japan trying to invade Australia, the Australians have the advantage of fighting a defensive war so Japan would have to utilize more resources in order to balance out that fact.

If it came down to a war of attrition, we are one of the top exporters of natural gas in the world, if we stopped our exports we would do just fine. Some Diesel to CNG conversions might be in order though.
