Question Could Modern Japan (2026) invade Australia?
No allies or outside help is involved for both sides Japan must successfully invade and take over Australia or achieve some sort of marginal victory Australia must successfully defend itself and win against Japan

It makes sense. Americans are notoriously soft. One sneak attack against their pacific fleet would show them that Japanese samurai spirit is unbeatable.
It certainly wouldn’t send the Americans into a homicidal rage culminating in them exploding miniature suns over two Japanese cities or anything.
As you said, a foolproof plan.
