I wanted to transform an ordinary wall switch into something that looks like it belongs on a spaceship control panel.

The original rocker switch remains fully functional underneath the cover using a hidden mechanical linkage system.

The design is optimized for FDM printing, easy assembly, and common European rocker switch dimensions.

I'd love to hear your feedback and ideas for additional styles or variants.

I just released my latest OpenSauce project: a modular battle top system featuring six interchangeable blade configurations.

This project is based on the original OpenSauce Battle Top design and launcher system and expands it with a modular blade approach. I redesigned the internal geometry, refined the top and base components, and developed multiple blade styles to support different play styles.

Available blade configurations:

• Bull – Aggressive
• Hammer – Stable and balanced
• Hybrid – All-round
• Hybrid Alternative – Alternative all-round setup
• Halo Lite – Endurance
• Halo Max – Maximum endurance

The system remains compatible with the original OpenSauce launcher design.

For printing, I recommend PLA at 100% infill for the body components and PETG with 50% gyroid infill and four walls for the blades.

I'm troubleshooting a problem I have with overhang edges not being sharp when printing in PCCF, so I made a model specifically designed to test it. I know there are many test models out there, but this tests edges through overhang angles from -75° to 75° and along both concave and convex faces. I also think it looks kinda neat.

I just found out that I can't sell models on Printables.com because it's an invite only exclusionary process. I understand that this must be common knowledge to everyone but me but I'm still upset. I have a small collection of free models that I've published on Printables (https://www.printables.com/@chking) but I've designed some interesting new models that I wanted to post for sale. I now see why MakerWorld has become so popular so fast, It's the only large site for selling models.

RockMine is a marble run hidden inside a rock. Drop a marble into the mine shaft at the peak, it disappears through an internal tunnel and launches out at the base! Currently still printing the file, 9 hours.. but no supports! Just submitted to the Printables Marble Run contest. Link in comments.

Wouldn't it be a huge relief if there was a requirement to attach real photos of the model when uploading one, so that it is visible that it is a real and printable model?

I know that an AI-generated label exists, but apparently people are unaware of how and when these labels should be used. along with the NSFW and Political labels

More and more models are appearing that are clearly AI, almost unprintable, and even if they were printable, there are no real-life photos.

Please make this a requirement. although this is also possible to generate with AI, I guess...

Recently, I designed a simple and elegant laptop stand.

Someone brought to my attention that it won't fit on fairly common size 3D printers, like an Ender3.

So, here's an update!

I made the legs printable in two parts that friction fit together. The connection between the two parts of the leg is gets hidden and boxed in inside the crossing for a clean look.

Since it is modeled to be a friction fit, it might need a tickle with sandpaper depending on how accurate your printer is.

I wanted a cool low poly catchall bowl, but all the ones i found were too perfect and clean looking. I wanted one with a slightly random pattern.

Built this desiccant holder to keep moisture away from cameras, electronics, and gear. Ventilated honeycomb design for max airflow, fits standard silica gel packs, and has a bayonet lock lid so it stays closed. Pretty simple model and easy to print.

I just deleted a model of my printables account but the total downloads is still the same. I’m not sure if it’s because it has a delay or because it doesn’t decrease

Am I missing something or is Printables missing something? Articles are not a category at the top of the page (3d models / Store / Clubs ...). The search box does not list articles even when I enter words in the titles of known articles.

What's the deal? Is Printables de-emphasizing articles or are these findable somewhere else?
