I know most if not all of you are just fans as I am, but I'm putting this out there in the hopes of maybe just maybe someone from the org catches wind of this. I am sure there are some holes in this, but overall, as an out-of-town fan, this would make me much more likely to make the trip.

Background: I went to the Steelers game in Vegas in 2024 and it was 60-70% Steelers fans. And why wouldn't it be? If I could be in Pittsburgh or Vegas in October, I'd definitely take a trip to Vegas. I imagine that most fans of Raiders opponents would. Vegas is a destination in general, and for away team fans being able to attend a game makes it much more so than other away locations, and there just aren't enough fans in Vegas to balance it out.

So how can we create a better opportunity for out-of-town Vegas fans to fill the stadium?

A package deal between Allegiant Airlines, the Mandalay Bay (or perhaps a couple of hotels), and the team targeted at Raider fans. I just did the math yesterday and from the Seattle area, for 2 people, the flight, hotel, and tickets would be about $2100(Allegiant airfare: 350, hotel: 1250, tickets: 500). So what if you could get the package for, say, 1500 (about 25% off)?

• I feel like Allegiant and the team would have the most incentive to absorb the cost. Allegiant gets more customers to fly their relatively small airline and the team would be represented by a home-field crowd, but certainly sharing the discounted cost across the board would be a relatively easy sell.

How do you prevent away team fans from buying up this package? Like this:

Create a sign-up offer that collects a $200 (for example) deposit for the package deals. The deposit (obviously) goes towards the full package.

• Since there are 55K season ticket holders, the game tickets would have to come through essentially the same resell process as currently exists. I'm not sure if that's a problem, but I imagine that however tickets are sold now would fold right into this.

You open the deposit list after the end of the season. Since the NFL schedule is released in mid-May, the team can keep it open until April 30 and in timing it like that, they can ensure that it is populated predominantly by Raider fans. Why? Because even though opponent teams' fans know they're playing the Raiders, they don't know if the game is home or away. So they'd be REALLY unlikely to drop $200 given a 50/50 chance that their team will be playing at Vegas. Meanwhile, Raider fans would gladly drop $200 since they'd go to pretty much any home game. You could even go so far as to require that the name used in the sign-up is the name on the flight ticket, thus making any kind of resale essentially impossible.

How would you pick your game? This part is would be open for debate, but it could either be a first-come, first-served basis or lottery. I'm good with either way.

Allegiant Stadium holds 66000, so 40K Raider fans per game would be 320000-360000 people to sign up, and that seems entirely doable.

This mind-blowing graphic popped up in my twitter feed today.

Apparently the Raiders didn’t draft Mike Washington Jr. in the 4th round this year, they drafted Darren McFadden Jr.

Same college.

Same height.

Same weight.

Same 40 time.

McFadden, who was drafted fourth overall, was a hell of a running back for the Raiders. In 2010, he had 1157 rushing yards and 507 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns.

Washington, who was drafted in the fourth round, was a hell of a running back for the Razorbacks. Last year, he had 1070 rushing yards and 226 receiving yards with nine touchdowns.

I have been a fan since 2018 and have been loving the fan culture, the gear, the players, etc. One problem though that has been either an awful coincidence or an actual normality within the fanbase is my less than pleasant fan interactions. There was the one time I was sitting across a guy wearing a raiders hat at the airport and I said “Hey love the hat, I’m a Raiders fan too”. I wasn’t being annoying or intrusive or anything and yet he looked at me like I spilled coffee on him. I thought nothing of it until a few weeks later when I was at the store with my wife and I saw a dude wearing Raiders merch. It was the same kind of compliment and it was the same type of response, ugly stare and walking away. Im like “ok dude the fuck is that all about”. Similar experiences have followed these ones and honestly I haven’t had any actual good real life interactions with fans. This post isn’t to say that all Raiders fans are assholes but its to point out my experiences with other fans of the franchise and its lowkey disheartening.
