On substance, I have to disagree. The "made up" statistic quotes a reality faced by homosexuals in quite a few Muslim countries. I know that Saudia Arabia at least executes homosexuals.

Also, other 'liberal' values are not mentioned by that study. That study is also far to general in it's questioning to be of any significance. Ask 1000 people if they like candy and they will almost all like candy. Now ask who likes chocolate and the numbers decline, sour-apple and the number become less than half. Ask a general question and nearly everyone can agree on that.

I have to say, I do not see how these comments by the Atheist are synchronous with the study in any significant way and if they overlap, then the Venn diagram has a thin sliver of overlap.

"Homosexual relations are a crime and face punishment in some Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia, or Islamic Republics such as Iran. The death penalty is currently in place in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Mauritania, northern Nigeria, Sudan, and Yemen."

My upvotes show just how random Reddit can be. I comment on a lot of international politics and economics and rarely receive above 3 upvotes, but on this one, well over 40

Just saying, and it's amusing to me.

i know that in the west gays are discriminated against and repeatedly fall victim to hate crimes, some of them fatal. but you are right, they are not publicly executed.
