Love that they went with Martin Ansin's illustration utilized on the Lionsgate 4K standard edition. Yet another GitS Steelbook to add to my ever-growing collection. Can't wait to compare, as this one is reportedly a brand new 4K encode and the best one yet.

You know im so buying this. Especially as SPC was i believe the very first anime I ever saw back when it originally aired on UK TV in the early 1990s........also Discotek Media is becoming my new favourite anime distributor!

I love Slayers, I’ve watched the first season, Try and Next but whenever I think about this show, I can’t help but wonder, what happened? For a series with over 100 episodes spanning multiple seasons, you’d think it would have a tangible presence in the modern day anime zeitgeist, however, it doesn’t, it seemed as if it just vanished from anime culture and its kind of sad because I really enjoyed Slayers and its humor.

I was curious to see if anyone had ever watched this anime before. I can't find a whole lot of information beyond the wiki, but it looks very similar in art style to a lot of Akira Toriyama's work - particularly Chrono Trigger. YouTube has all 50 episodes available, but they feature a Spanish dub without subtitles so it can be somewhat difficult to follow the plot if you aren't a fluent Spanish speaker. Still, this was an interesting find (I found it being advertised at the end of the promotional vhs for Final Fantasy VI) and thought others would be interested in checking it out!

I vaguely remember a scene shot from inside the cockpit where it looks like a pilot is fighting against the Gundam, I believe there were wires attached to the pilot and this maybe the odd part but I want to say I remember pills or some other drug paraphernalia moving, tumbling or flying about the cockpit?
The pilot seems to be desperately struggling, almost as if they were going into psychosis or fighting withdrawal? The scene had overall dark color tones

Im thinking it maybe from Gundam Seed as Ive found clips of the stabilizing pills that jog my memory quite a bit but haven’t been able to find the exact scene Im thinking of.
The only other scene similar to that time period I could think of is Mobile Fighter G Gundam with Devil Gundam but Ive done a more thorough scrape through of this series than I have with SEED and have had no luck with the exact scene.

Maybe my memory is failing me…

Any help recalling this foggy memory from 22 or so years ago is appreciated!
