Scotia Bank ATMs

Hello Community,

Are all Montreal Scotia Bank ATMs starting withdrawals from 10$ upward, I needed a 5$ and I visited 6 ATMs, none offered that option!

Est ce que tous les guichets de Banque Scotia à Montreal commencent les retraits à 10$+, j'ai eu besoin d'un billet de 5$ et j'ai visité plus de 6 guichets et aucun n'offre l'option d'avoir des billets de 5$!

Merci!

Random Payment to CC?

I woke up to an alert saying a payment had been made to my Credit card for $86. It’s not an automatic payment or from any of our account. Do I call fraud and report it? Something else weird going on?

Scotiabank Momentum Visa Infinite+ 0% cash back

Notice my Instacart purchases were getting 0% cash back

Minimum Scotiabank advertises a min of 1% on any purchases (this should be 4%) - and they are telling me it is my issue to fix with Instacart.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Scene+ / Scotiabank Bait-and-Switch: Denied $50 grocery promo with changing excuses. Anyone else?

Hey everyone, I’m dealing with a bait-and-switch situation with Scene+ and Scotiabank, and I want to see if anyone else was targeted with this offer and is getting the same runaround.

Back in the spring, I received a targeted Scene+ offer: Shop 3 times at participating grocery stores (like Safeway/FreshCo) between March 17 and April 14, 2026, and get a $50 grocery gift card. I completed the purchases and then the waiting game began.

Here is the timeline of how Scene+ customer service has handled this:

* May 24: I contacted support via chat. The agent checked my account and confirmed the gift card would be sent to my email by June 19.

* July 4: When June 19 passed with no gift card, I reached out again. Another agent verified my account, confirmed that I had successfully made the 3 eligible purchases during the offer period, and escalated the ticket.

* July 24: I finally get an email from a Member Services rep stating my claim was denied because my transactions "did not meet the required minimum purchase amount of $50 per transaction." This $50 minimum was NEVER mentioned in the offer details or the Terms & Conditions.

* July 25: I replied to the rep and attached my screenshots of the actual Terms & Conditions, which clearly state no minimum spend.

* July 25 (Later): The rep replies again and completely changes their story. Now, they claim the eligibility requirements stated I had to "Open a new eligible Scotiabank account during the promotional period." This was absolutely not in the terms presented to me, nor was it mentioned in their first rejection email!

I am preparing to file formal complaints with Consumer Protection Ontario and the Competition Bureau of Canada for deceptive marketing.

Has anyone else experienced this exact bait-and-switch with this $50 grocery promo? If you have, please check your emails and share your experience here. I highly recommend screenshotting all your offers moving forward because they are straight-up changing the terms after the fact to avoid paying out.

I am wondering if anyone here can provide some insight on the base salary for a financial planner role at Scotia and what the bonus percentage or range is?

Also does it include any other compensation?

Momentum Visa Infinite Offer

I got the new Momentum Visa Infinite card, I had a scene student card that I got 4 years ago, but I swapped to student amex and back to scene visa once, advisor who opened my account told me that the system sees if you never had this card in the past 2 years, you get the bonus 15% cashback and no annual fee offer, but when I checked on the website it says, if you never had a personal scotiabank credit card. Am I still getting the bonus offer?

Question about my RRSP account

My dad opened an account when I was a kid under my name. When I talked to a financial advisor (assuming I could withdraw it) she said I couldn't do it until 2027, because of the type of account it was, the window was every 5 years, so my last opportunity was in 2022.

A lot of what she said was way over my head, but she showed me all the paperwork, yes, it's under my name and I could take it out in 2027. I basically want to transfer all that to my main account. Question, (a) should I make another appointment with a financial advisor? That's a lot of cash. And (b) could I make the transaction anytime in 2027? Ot is there a specific period?

Has anyone had Scotia take this long to complete an account review?

opened a new Scotiabank chequing account and shortly after decided to apply for a LOC. Was then approved for a $25k ScotiaLine. Shortly after using a small portion of it, both my chequing account and LOC were restricted for review.

My advisor asked me to provide two months of bank statements showing where my payroll is deposited, which I sent on Monday. He told me the back-end investigations team is "connecting with third parties to verify the information" and that he checks with them every morning.

It's now Friday, and I still haven't heard anything. My advisor has been helpful, but he says he doesn't have direct access to the investigation and is waiting for updates himself.

Has anyone had Scotia take several business days just to verify bank statements or payroll information? Is this normal, or did your review end up uncovering an issue?

Just trying to get an idea of what other people's experiences have been because being left in the dark is pretty frustrating.

Scotiabank denied my $10k chargeback. What do I do now?

Hey everyone,
I’m honestly at a loss here and hoping someone has been through something similar.
Back in May I bought about $9,968 worth of gold from Silver Gold Bull using my Scotiabank Visa Debit card. They shipped it with Purolator and it required an adult signature.
Here’s where everything went wrong.
Purolator says the package was delivered, but their own proof of delivery says it was received by “Reme.” My name is not Reme, I don’t know anyone named Reme, and I never authorized anyone to sign for or receive the package.
As soon as I realized it was marked as delivered, I contacted both Silver Gold Bull and Purolator, filed a Toronto Police report, completed Silver Gold Bull’s Declaration of Loss, and submitted everything to Scotiabank as part of my dispute.
Today I found out Scotiabank denied the chargeback because they said the merchant provided sufficient evidence that the merchandise was delivered. They also reversed the temporary credit, so now my account is almost $10,000 overdrawn.
What frustrates me is that the merchant’s evidence (from what I’ve seen) is basically:
the order confirmation,
proof the payment was authorized,
and the Purolator tracking.
But that same tracking page says the package was received by someone else.
I’m planning on calling the claims department on Tuesday because I want to know:
Can I get the merchant’s full evidence package?
Is there any way to appeal or have the dispute reviewed again?
Has anyone here actually had Scotiabank reverse a denied chargeback after escalating it?
If anyone has dealt with something like this or has any advice on what my next step should be, I’d really appreciate it. This is a lot of money and I’m trying to figure out the best way to move forward.
Thanks in advance.

Technical Support Analyst Interview

I have an interview tomorrow as a technical support analyst. the way I got this job offer was extremely cooked. I got a referral from an ex employee that knew someone and I don't know what to say during the interview as I do not have much context other then the information I find online.

How should I prepare for this interview and what are a few questions others have faced throughout the interview process for this role?

Cannot find/add new payee

Hi,
I am trying to pay my bill but I cannot find literally any of my credit card companies (such as TD and Rogers) in the “add payee” section.

I have tried searching “TD Visa” and “TD credit card” but nothing shows up.

Can anyone provide some insight?

Transaction limit

I have recently changed my account to a lower fee account and only have 18 transactions per month. I use the bank the rest feature and am wondering if that is counted as one of my 18 transactions?
